OH, Medina County - Girl escapes Montville home, suspect deceased, one other shot

Heartbreaking that she laid there for 2+ hours before she got any medical help. After the coward ran inside, why didn’t they scoop her up and run?! Maybe she could have been helped more? I’m no medical person and maybe her brain injury was a foregone conclusion.

I also question why they didn't attempt to get her out of the wide open garage sooner. I think maybe there were concerns because the police reports from 2015 indicated he had weapons and was a former veteran?? Though I think leaving her there for two hours was a bit unreasonable (my opinion) and the outcome may have been different.

I've got serious questions for this prosecutor and I don't know how much I can say here (without getting verified) but I'm local. A lot of what you have said is spot on. Very white area. Veteran. Affluent.

I also happen to know that the "help" offered by LE here is an utter joke from personal experience.

Thanks for that information. Most people here at WS following the case of Bryon Macron know there's something up with Medina County's prosecutor's office. It seems they prefer to sweep problems under the rug.

In this case, the damage is done and they'll probably let it all fade from public memory. It still seems so preventable, though. So many warning signs, the sexual abuse of her daughters, etc.

Bellyup, I am also local. I would not call him "affluent." The area is nice but average. I am glad that no one in the adjacent homes was shot given how tightly packed the homes in that neighborhood are.

The home last sold at $268k. Medina is in the top 25% of median incomes in the state.

I wouldn’t call it average, personally. I was commenting on the city as a whole not him personally.

The link above is the police report from 2014/2015 includes that Shawn had said he wanted to shoot (his girlfriend) in the head. Shawn also admitted to asking his step daughter for oral sex in order to get her mom to move out?

It basically says that the victim was "above the age of consent" so it wasn't pursued by police or prosecutor which is MADDENING.
