I am kind of surprised that they aren’t moving the trials to say Hamilton, Butler, Adams counties. But don’t they have to attempt to find a suitable jury in Pike county first? If that is difficult on the first trial could they petition to move them to other counties then?

What Angela's Attorney said about the Change of Venue Motion:

Attorneys for Angela Wagner, 48, asked the court to consider moving the case outside Pike County Common Pleas Court to ensure she receives “a fair trial before a jury untainted by pre-trial publicity.”

Wagner’s attorney, Robert Krapenc, said he filed the motion “out of an abundance of caution.”

“My opinion of the process is that I filed a motion so I could preserve the right at a later date,” Krapenc said. “I would probably ask the judge not to rule on that motion until we try to find a jury in Pike County.”

By agreement of the parties, the hearing upon all "non-substantive" pre-trial motions including the forty-nine (49) non-substantive pre-trial motions filed by the Defendant on December 14, 2018, remains scheduled for September 16, 2019, at 1:30 o'clock p.m.

I wonder why 49 Motions filed in December still haven't been ruled on 8 months later? @Betty P ? And these are common non-substantive Motions like wearing street clothes:

Trying to recall my notes from AW's last hearing, but I think they're going to wrap them all up by the September date. Like the discovery process, there are still 5 cases, many, many charges, lots of attorneys and one small prosecution team. It all takes a while. There's only so much the prosecution can do during the average work week and I'm sure defense attorneys muck up the works as much as possible.

I spent 2 years seeing the victim's bashed. Too much. Terrible things said I won't repeate.....So glad it's not like that here

I really wonder what the psychological effects of being incarcerated for 9 months are for the W4. Outside prison they were so dependent on each other, and lived in pretty tight quarters in Kenai. I think during the winter months up there they have about 4 hours sunlight each day. I have no idea what they did for the 11-12 months they were up there other than going to Walmart and church.

Until I get their court documents organized, I can only paraphase (JMO....). There was a lot of DNA and ballistics evidence collected that dated to their time in AK. I think that their vacation/relocation to AK was about much more than protecting the children from gossip.

Once it was clear the W4 had really left Ohio, Dewine wasted no time declaring the W4 as the "laser focus" of the murder investigations. MD also was very specific as to what information/evidence they were looking for. The fact that Dewine even mentioned ammunition suggests to me they might have been trying trying to purchase a large number of rounds.

1) vehicles
2) ammunition
3) guns/firearms

Why vehicles? What happened to the semi they owned? Also, there were a lot of vehicles owned/sold/traded in Ohio by all parties involved. Why did LE want information on their vehicles in AK?

What weapons/ammo did they try/bring along to AK? In evidence, they have 6 "declaration forms". I'm guessing these were filled out at the border crossing. Silencers are illegal in Canada, so they had to get rid of any they had before crossing. I need to look up Canadian law to see how many weapons and what type they could declare and legally bring across the border.

I don't believe they ran to Kenai randomly, so why did they relocate there?? What did they do for 11 months there??

IMO George is already thinking about flipping, I think he is really worried about his son being in the care of his ex wife, so will throw anyone under the bus to get out sooner to get his son back.

I see what you are saying but I think that unless they don’t have anything on him that will stick I can’t see him getting out and walking free anytime soon. I would imagine he would still get 25 years or something. His son will be an adult before he sees sunlight. JMO.

I think the dramatic shift in focus had something to do with information LE gathered from the tracker put on JM's infamous red truck. That was when LE completely dropped JM as a suspect and zeroed in on the W4. That was when the W4 went into hiding (maybe locally) and then left town.

What? JM going to work and going on errands? I don't see what information? I think the change was LE finding the parts to build a silencer that were left behind. Then on October 31st, during the well search, a silencer was found in the Peterson well that matched the parts to build a silencer. A ahha! Moment...

I think the information gathered spoke to exactly what you are saying.......JM was not even remotely involved in the murders and was being set up. Somehow the GPS tracker proved his innocence.

Was the "laser focus" before or after JM's court appearance about destroying the tracker? It seems about that time that LE completely dropped all Manleys from the list of possible suspects.

Alaska was about as far away as they could go on land and supposedly there was one maybe two churches where they knew the pastors and - IMO as a cynic - they could prey on and manipulate the congregations to maybe help them financially to get settled. I'm thinking the congregations did not really know them and might help financially. Then, of course, it's a whole new group of single gals to hook up with JW and GW to provide more grandchildren for AW... told you I'm cynical and this is JMO and MOO

The emphasis at WS is providing facts about a case. That is why they want a link to articles being quoted or referred to in posts. Opinions can be mistaken for fact at times and causes confusion.
