He didn’t threaten their custody chances.
IMO This murders happened 30 percent because of child custody of SW but the Real reason the 8 where killed was, the Wagners Pride got hurt, Jake couldn’t stand Hanna May didn’t want him anymore and the Wagners had to show the Community that they where in charge, no one was going to mess with them or this is what happens, JMO

Sounds like they probably put some thought into which victims to target without revealing the motive for the murders, directing attention away from the custody problems and towards a drug hit and sending a big message to the community.

The W's committed this massacre not because the Rhodens were a threat to them - they weren't. They may have been angry and upset with the W's attempts to strong-arm Hanna into giving up custody of S, but they knew they would prevail. They took the steps they needed (buying a new home) to prevent that. AFAIK, the Rhodens weren't the vengeful type. They were quick to defend themselves and their family members, but they didn't try to exert dominance or control over others. Had the W's not killed them, the custody situation would have been resolved. The R's seemed like fair-minded people and wouldn't have prevented S from being part of the W's lives.

OTOH, the Wagners had a history of controlling others. Rhodens didn't go along the way everyone else did. We speculated that from the start - that CR Sr. had gotten into a situation where someone tried to control him or his business and he had pushed back. He and his family were killed because they were the stalwarts in the community - not willing to "toe the line" like everyone else.

If these cases go on to trial, the prosecution will use the W's favorite movie "Boondock Saints" to show how this dysfunctional family viewed themselves as god-like "saviors" of the community. They put themselves above the law and the courts to shape their world as they wished. Entitled brutes. Megalomaniacs let loose upon an innocent family.

f guilty it really paints a picture of how selfish and cruel that family really is. They didn't think of what these actions would do to those poor children.

This is what will really turn the jury against them. Killing parents with their innocent infants beside them, leaving those babies bathed in their parents blood, screaming and crying for hours on end.

If they have any sense at all, they'll take a plea deal. They're completely delusional if they think a jury will show any mercy for those horrible crimes.

I wonder why the Wagners didn’t kill Hanna Mays boyfriend, Corey Holden?
He left too early that night. But you can bet your last pair of cowboy boots that if he had stayed over night he would have been dead too. Probably with 5 or more shots to the head.

Some Locals, for reasons unknown to me but I can guess why, believed Jake wanted to kill CG but settled for HG as revenge. For CH it was said it was enough to kill Hanna to break them up. They killed exactly who they wanted. No links so opinion. I believe it was locals who turned LE towards the Wagners.
Alot of talk going around that made it's way to LE in regards to motive. It was fast! Only a matter of months when Reader knew it was locals, why is that? Because people talk. 100's of interviews, 100's of people talking.

Why can't Donini just GO already! I have no respect for this Sheriff especially since he scoffed at Sheriff Reader in the summer of 2017 regarding fentanyl overdoses expected in Pike County. He also recently got called out by his commissioners over department vehicles.

The two Wagner children are under this county's CPS jurisdiction and he doesn't need to be anywhere close, IMO.

I was thinking about something last night and am interested in hearing other opinions. Perhaps we just don't know, but something that has always bothered me is why the Wagners were not contacted and interviewed immediately after the murders. It would surely seem to me if local word spread quickly that there were custody issues between Hanna and Jake, this would logically have been the first route to take. However, I do realize blame was going to the Manleys; they were totally set up by the Wagners, and it worked initially.

Jake was interviewed first, about 3 weeks after the murders (from my memory only, then Angela and Billy in Sept-Oct 2016 after which Reader announced "locals"...as his theory.

I forget when George IV was interviewed, but it has forever been said that he refused to say a word. Hmmm. IMO, he played a huge role in the murders.

All opinion.

OMG, do glad they were reprimanded! I remember this tragedy, but was unaware of the reprimand, so thank you for sharing.
I thought you would want to see this and I think it is relevant because as you said the 2 Wagner children are under the supervision of:

The Mission of Scioto County Children Services is to lead the community in the promotion of safety and permanency for all children.

There just is no way that LE did not talk to the Wagners. One of the first things they most likely did is check on S. And Jake had been over there that night/week and it would be impossible to ignore that.

I think what is going on here is that LE branched out and talked to all the family members including the Wagners, and got their initial statements which is what they do.

Then when the initial facts were sorted out they knew they needed to do a formal interview with Jake and this is more than just having LE write up a statement, this is a more serious interview with video and audio. They will most likey use these interviews to show the Jury how he lied.

There is an article from when they were in Alaska and the reporter said that GW4 refused to make a comment and I don't think GW3 ever said anything to the media either.
But I seriously doubt that GW 4 just sat mute when called into BCI for formal questioning.
If that were the case he wouldn't go into the interview at all and would communicate with them through an attorney. You can refuse to talk to LE.

But the Wagners wanted him to back up their story and told him what to say.

All only my take on it....

IANAL, but I'm fairly sure if BD is called as a witness, any evidence pertaining to him would be available to the prosecution and all the defense attorneys. Recall, the big fight at the end of RN's second last hearing was over evidence relating to BD that FG was supposed to turn over to the state, but had delayed until the last minute. So, if he's introducted as a witness, pretty sure he can be questioned by everyone's attorney. Seems unlikely FG can withhold any evidence pertaining to the other defendants. The rest is hypothetical, really difficult to predict.

Pardon, but I had to laugh reading your post and the references to FG. The first name that popped into my mind was "Fred Garvin", haha

lol, never thought of that one.

Very few interviews with G4 in Discovery, right?

I agree...impossible to ignore, but we have no proof LE talked to the Wagners before interviewing Jake in May 2016. JMO
