My speculation
Following 2 links are about the same arrests in late June or July of 2017
Each link gives a little different information
I've always thought this arrest was very important
Among the names is a tattoo artist
There is also another name that is a Common one, and maybe recognized, not sure if it is the same family ...

This is really interesting, especially when you line it up with the timeline of the W4's case.

Just some observations on the 3 month time period 3/2017 through early 7/2017.

Early/mid April 2017 appears to be when LE got the break they needed in the investigation. It was clear from DeWine's 4/2017 press conference LE had a big break in the case. LE didn't publicly name the W4. It is also around the same time LE eliminated JM as a suspect.

Between the 3/2017 sale of the Peterson property and when the W4 arrived in AK (estimated 3rd week of June 2017), no one really knows where the W4 were. We know they were in the Pike area days before the massive search weekend of 5/11-13/2017. The W4 tried to hide their vehicles and packed trailers at the 41 property several days before the massive raids on the FWF and the Peterson property. After those searches it became obvious the W4 were the prime suspects. There is also a stay (early 6/2017) in a Jackson Red Roof Inn. After the W4 arrived in AK, DeWine announced the W4's name's as the "laser focus of the investigation", requesting information from the public.

During the massive search weekend, AW claimed they were far away in AK then, "on vacation". AK is as physically far from Ohio as it gets. Looks to me like they were hiding in the Pike area during the searches. The question might become - who were they hiding from once it became obvious the W4 were the prime suspects? LE or someone else? The evil people? Might the W4 owe money to someone?

Completely hypothetical question. What might have happened that would put the W4's lives in danger if they were publicly identified as the prime suspects? They seemed to seek physical distance from Ohio. It's no easy journey to get to AK. Add to that having to go through customs in Canada. Doubted anyone would bother chasing them up there (other than BCI).

Back to Ohio, during this same time period. A prisoner was running a large narcotics ring in Pike Co. There was talk about 'revenge' from drug suppliers heading to Pike Co. in May/June 2017 (please correct me if my date range is off). Reader even put out a warning on Facebook regarding this. In late June, early July 2017 LE arrested 23 people associated to a large drug ring.

Is the timing coincidental or might there be some relation between the crimes?

Anything is possible.....

(Chris Graves Enquirer) A neighbor, Brad Conklin, said the family arrived driving two heavy-duty pickup trucks pulling a large horse trailer and another 24-foot-long trailer covered with a tarp and have been in the process of unpacking it.

August 2017---George "Bob" Washington Wagner II passes away from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
November 2017---Angela Wagner's father passes away.

May 2018---The Wagners move into Angela's dad's house in Webster Ohio.

May 22, 2018---The Union Hill Rd. Church that Leonard Manley, his wife, and BJM attend, holds a 2 year memorial service and balloon launch for the Rhodens and Hannah Gilley. The Wagner's do not attend.

July 2018---The prosecution brings evidence before the Grand Jury but the GJ is not ready to indict the Wagners. Rita Newcomb and Fredericka Wagner testify.

August 2018---News breaks that Wagner property is being searched again.

October 30, 2018---The parts to make a gun silencer are found and tested. This evidence is brought before the Grand Jury and the GJ hands down lengthy indictments against the Wagners. Also indicted are Rita Newcomb and Fredericka Wagner.

November 13, 2018---All 6 Wagner's are arrested and booked into separate Ohio jails without incident.

June 20, 2017 was on Tuesday. So the Wagners moved in on that "last Friday" which was June 16th.

So this is very interesting! The Chris Graves article comes out on the 20th of June alerting DeWine that the Wagners were moved into their Kenai home.

So the very next day, June 21st, DeWine makes his well known laser focus statements to the entire USA MSM!

Thankx for the correction! I think DeWine deliberately did this laser focus announcement because they had just moved to AK....Humm....like sending the Wagner's a message and maybe hoping to get them to trip themselves up somehow and get them to talk about it etc...

Something was going on with that announcement at that specific time!

Meanwhile, The Accused are sitting in jail and rotting.
At this point they may have some hope for a positive outcome.
Their anxiety level will rise dramatically as the first trial nears.
When the evidence is presented to the jury by hostile prosecutors in the first trial, I think a boiling point will be reached.
I do hope the trial will be on cable or live streamed.
Maybe even with a tight shot of the defendant's face in a box in a screen corner.

I don't have my notes available to me now, but something I had wondered about in timeline fashion, but didn't get to work on, was Reporter Chris Graves.
Specifically the date of the subpoena (and the extension of) to access, monitor her phone, email, correspondence, etc. I'm not sure of all that was monitored, but you get the idea. It could be something very important, as a subpoena of that sort is not issued easily. I mean important in relation to the Wagners and their activities locations.
Not any suggestion that CG, reporter was doing anything wrong.
Can someone who has time please add that subpoena to timeline?

For timeline purposes, (If you think there is any relationship to this case) keep in mind this massive drug arrest had to have been well planned. The investigation itself had to have been going on for quite a long time.
I believe there were several agencies involved.
The names of those arrested reflect many players in the Pike County and general Area of S. Ohio.
It also involved an inside the prison system inmate.
It was a huge drug bust. A huge drug ring.
If Websleuth Sleuthers don't see any relationship here, that's ok. , let me know if you wish. I feel it is important.
Time will tell.

I agree with you. My opinion is he said something extra incriminating on those tapes. It is only in GW4's Journey Entry that the taped conversations are specifically mentioned.

Well, two thoughts here--neither of them charitable--A. Not sure I believe anything from JW/AW; and B. If they truly were getting death threats, I sure wouldn't feel sorry for them IMO

I agree it is very strange and am trying to not get my hopes up. But, I had the same "something is up" feeling with RN and the last minute postponement, the video of her very apparently anxious while waiting in the hall outside the courtroom. then sure enough, she changed her plea. I really pray for all the loved ones of the Rhoden/Manley/Gilley families that my intuition is correct on GW4's very changed physical appearance (mainly the obvious weight loss) and no new hearings scheduled since 1/21/2020--well before the COVID-19 pandemic began to stall other W4 hearings--as being a glimmer of hope that there will be a change in plea in his case. Keeping my fingers crossed, IMO
