If Fredericka is so wealthy and loves her family so much, why don’t she pay for attorneys fees and show the world that she truly believes that the Wagners 4 didn’t kill the Rhodens, JMO

Maybe deep down She doesn't believe in their innocence. Or, maybe she's just tired of bailing them out of messes. Enterprises, even criminal or morally questionable ones (F's land contract terms), take a degree of work and organization. She might be tired of them being mostly lay-a-bouts. AMOO

I hadn't considered Chris Jr. hiding. I agree with you. At the least, he was awake. The poor child.

I keep coming back and trying to wrap my mind around how a husband, wife, and their two adult sons each got on board with this. Perhaps even more remarkable, is that they could live with themselves after the murders. They seemed unaffected. It's really unbelievable. They aren't a mafia or a cartel family. What in their past prepared them for such acts, and have they killed before the Rs and G? Just some of the questions that run through my mind about the case.
What shocks me "sheetless" is this:

Angela's Defiance Farms (Peterson Road) posts and photos right before and after the murders like nothing happened. At the Defiance Farms Facebook site are the photos and posts.

These are all 100% Angela Wagner's posts (with pretty photos at the site) like nothing happened:

Hatfield and McCoy feud MSM references:
img

"IN A modern-day version of the bloody Hatfield vs. McCoy feud, an Ohio family of four has been charged with murdering eight members of another clan — in a bitter child custody fight!"

Was a Custody Battle the Reason Behind the Rhoden Family Murders?

"It’s not often that a killing in rural Appalachia can be mentioned in the same breath as a Shakespearean drama—or even the legendary feud of the Hatfields and McCoys.. "

The Pike County Massacre American Crime Journal Your True Crime Source

"..We would learn the conspirators and perpetrators behind the murder of an entire family was another family, in what one could only believe was as a modern retelling of the Hatfields and McCoys, but this wasn’t a story of provocation, escalation and revenge.."
Thank you CC

When killings in the Hatfield-McCoy Feud occurred, There was never any doubt as to who did it. No investigations, no secrets, nothing. Hillbilly Justice depends on certainty of punishment to deter crimes (or perceived crimes) against the harmed person or group.

It was said several times that it was GWIII on SSI.
I think it was pointed out that GW3 was on SSI at his arraignment, stating he didn't have enough money to hire his own lawyer. I will try to look it up and post if I find it.

Excellent question, but to which I have no answer.

I have an aunt and uncle who own several thousand acres of farmland and are very wealthy. However, at times in the past when their kids, grandkids or great-grandkids were in trouble with the law, they were on their own. My aunt and uncle's theory is, and I quote, "If you're stupid enough to break the law, then you'd better be smart enough to get yourself out of trouble if you get caught." JMO

Wow he looks mean in that photo, I wonder why he was on SSI ?

It can be for a disability that occurred before he had regular employment and was eligible for Disability Social Security. It is, for the most part, for people disabled from birth or as children, who can not work at a regular job due to mental or physical disabilities.
My ex DIL, whom is perfectly physically able to work, is on SSI because she claims she can't be in a work environment around a lot of people. She has had jobs where she worked one day and quit. She had a job, back in the 90s, running a CNC machine making $17.00/hr and quit because she didn't like her foreman telling her what to do.

To her, things were the way they should be at that time. SW was with JW and living in her home. There was no longer the chance that HR could keep AW from seeing and/or being with SW. I do think all these posts were part of the diversion plan to make it look like she, and her family, couldn't have been involved...

I get it but have never subscribed to the "Boss Hogg" theory.

Many times posters have commented about Fred/Wagners having all this influence and power over others in their community and I have never been able to substantiate that.

All I have been able to find is Fred and the Wagners having power and control over their employees on their horse farm and over their tenants on their own property but not anywhere else in their community.

I can't find anything about any Wagner being on any local commission boards or in local politics or spearheading local fund raisers or donating money, any money at all, to local organizations. I don't see anything showing them investing in any of their local businesses or see any involvement from them whatsoever in local Government or God forbid volunteering at any charity events to help anyone in their community.

They are all a big FAT ZERO as far as having been influential in their community and having been involved with anything other than themselves.

Am I missing something? I have looked for this great and powerful Wagner community connection for years and have never found it. If anything, many people seem to have had negative experiences (Horse Chronicles) when doing business with Flying W Farms.

You're looking at legal avenues of influence. Maybe their "boss hog" influence had less to do with the system itself, and more among the general people. Kinda like: "You all know what happened, but nobody says nothing or else." That would fit in with the disinformation campaign BW tried to keep up too.

Don't forget the type of people we are talking about here. These aren't the kind that are going to go get a background check to buy a gun...

So, is it possible that FW applied for that when he was a child?

I am thinking about the statement that he couldn't be the mastermind because he only had a 7th grade education.

I don't think there is any doubt who did it. They do have rights though...

Thankx. He seems very healthy to me and was working for FWF apparently. Usually you get reevaluated to see if you can work at something, I thought, guess it's complicated.

Well it looks weird. It wasn't until 3 months after the murders that she says due to family matters she has to sell her stock.

You have a point:

“It ain’t solved until someone is convicted,” said Denny Adkins, who owns a watering hole in the Pike County seat called Denny’s Doghouse.

He and Carol Estep, a bartender, said none of the Wagners ever came in. Adkins has owned the establishment since 2002.

Both Estep and Adkins initially expressed fear about their names appearing in a news article.

“I might get killed,” Adkins said.

I also think the SSI income was mentioned when AW & BW declared bankruptcy many years ago.

Hi Puzz..:)
Well let's look closely at what DeWine said at the press conference:

Reporter:
Asks about the marijuana grow being a possible motive?

DeWine:
"You have part of the relationship that was going on with some of the individuals involved...yah...there was an undercurrent of drugs. There's no evidence of all the speculation that this was drug, necessarily drug related in the sense of the motive but there was, there's an undercurrent there."

Reporter:
Asks about evidence left at the scene?

DeWine:
" Well there was some forensic evidence at the scene."

Reporter:
Asks if custody was at the epicenter of the murders?

DeWine:
"There certainly was obsession with custody obsession with control of children.
I just might tell you this is just the most bizarre story I have ever seen in being involved in LE. I mean when - when the entire story as it will unfold at trial - it is just it's just un---it's just amazing."

Reporter:

Asks if this many people were targeted so there would be no one left to claim rights to that child?

DeWine:
" Well you can draw your own conclusions to that I don't want to speculate there.....There's a fixation of control. "
Understandably, DeWine needs to keep a "poker face" in public and not give anything away that might compromise the trials.

IMHO, DeWine responded to those questions with open ended responses, non- answers. Never a yes or no answer, just vague responses that could be interpreted in a few ways.

I'm not blaming him at all. I think we can all agree, the most important goal is to convict the people responsible for these murders. If that means we (the public) need to wait a little longer for answers, so be it.
