Dewine said that they had learned about fights that had happened leading up to the murders that they didn’t know about in the beginning. This comment was made when LE was already suspecting the W’s so most likely that’s who he was talking about.

IIRC, from one of the recent articles about her leaving it was said she would still help out with the Wagner prosecutions in the interim.

@Betty P would please share the article referred to here that says AC will help out in the interim? No one here seems to remember it, and in light of the fact that she has been added back, I think it's very important. TY

Probably not weeks, but a few days. The defense has dragged out the pretrial phase for 3 years, so the public wants things to move along. The risks themselves probably won't last long, either.
Hope you are right @Betty P . Because the Wags are so well know and these murders are very high profile in their area, I was thinking jury selection would take a long time.

Sheriff: Killers in Pike County may be locals

Here is the quote from Reader, 6 months after the murders, about 2 fights before the murders:

"Records show none of the victims had criminal records. Reader said some of the family was involved in two fights not reported to police before the murders."

Yes I agree that when Reader said this he suspected the Wagners. He said this at the same time he said he believed that locals committed the murders. This was a big deal interview back then because it shifted the focus away from Mexican drug Cartels.

LE also believed that the killers were very familiar with the Rhoden properties and LM said to get past the dogs, the dogs would have known them. The Wagners fit the bill on both counts.

This Reader interview was October 17, 2016 and is close to Billy and Angela's first audio interviews:

September 9, 2016---Billy audio interview
October 5, 2016---Angela audio interview

Put it all together and yes, I bet they suspected the Wagner's 6 months into the investigation.

I believe it was in the press statement issued by AT Yost's office. It was linked in one of the news articles. I'll let you know when I find it.

At this point in time, the court record reflects her being assigned to the cases as a special prosecutor, so it's factual information. Angela Canepa has done an excellent job with these 6 cases.

The 4 Wagner's are extremely dangerous, depraved people who killed 8 innocent members of the Rhoden family while they slept, some with infants beside them. I don't understand why anyone would want to defend or help set them free to kill again. Who cares if Chris Rhoden Sr got in a fight with Billy Wagner one time? If Billy had a problem, he only needed to press charges. It's certainly no justification for murdering 8 innocent people.

The only people in this horrible crime who have done anything wrong are the 4 Wagner's and the people who support and enable them. They've wasted enough of our time and money and deserve no more free PR attempts to burnish their evil reputations.

Of course they are innocent until proven guilty, but with mountains of evidence, past criminal activity and RNs plea agreement, it's not looking good for them.

At this point we don't know if they will be tried in Pike or Scioto County. They will probably have separate trials, possibly with juries from other counties. Having heard of a crime in the news doesn't disqualify someone from serving. Pretty sure we've discussed this here a few times.

One was with the family over demo cars when a guys false teeth were broken, who was the other with? It does not say these fights were with Wagners. We probably will not be known IF there was a fight, or if it matters in this case, until the trials start.

I am still not sure CRsr's dogs were a problem. If they liked to be outside or need to go outside, they may have bolted for the door no matter who was there. They also may only have been in protection mode when CRsr was not there. They may have been used to being told to stand down when he was home and no longer were aggressive when he was there.

They have to be separate trials because these are death penalty cases. If they weren't DP cases the 4 Wagners would try to team together for trial (opinion) to be able to go over their stories/defense together.

I get what you are saying and I think what their pastor said is significant - QUOTE:

Take a look at Flying W Farms, dogs are the main currency after horses. The Wagners are "dog savvy" even developing their own breed. Billy owned a cute dog per a Defiance Farms photo from Angela.

Thus, the reason the dogs were left alive can be presented in 2 - point:

1 .) That the Wagners were familiar with the Rhoden dogs.

2.) That the Wagners were "devoted to dogs " and would not kill them indiscriminately.

Well said, Betty! And I sure wish Canepa was back to stay!

I'm not sure about the state you live in, but in Oklahoma gun shows, flea market and Armslist do not require a back ground check. I have bought and sold several guns at all three. We are not criminals or any thing underground, my husband enjoyed buying and selling firearms. You also do not need a license to buy or sell your personal collection in Oklahoma.
I am from Oklahoma also and know that to be true. I bought an old 410 shotgun at a flea market (I wanted it to hang on my fireplace as it was an old 30's model, but still fully functional and shoots very well, and wasn't even asked my name. I paid cash and walked off with the gun. This happens very often in Oklahoma. Also hubby bought an old 9mm Ruger still fully functional from an individual that didn't even ask his name. He paid cash and walked away with the pistol.

In Ohio, we can make private gun sales at flea markets or gun shows if one is not a licensed dealer. Imo

The main thing that I have been trying to say is if my spouse owns a gun store and I don't. The workers in the gun store (as they are working) have to follow the firearms license law.

What stops me from trading, buying or selling guns if I don't have a license..if I was the spouse?

I don't think anything does. I think they might have a nice illegal business set up. Jmo
That could be true.

Didn't the W's make a trip to TX? If so one stop at a gun show or flea market in Oklahoma could have netted them enough unregistered guns to outfit an army.

With all due respect, do you really think gun laws mattered in these murders?

I think gun laws matter in any murder. Whether the murder weapon is legally registered would make a difference on how fast LE could find the owner of that gun or how fast they could match ballistics to a gun a suspect has registered to them. It's pretty hard to deny it wasn't your gun if it is registered to you.

It’s the same here in South Carolina. You only need to register a gun if you plan to use it as your concealed carry (for which a license is obviously required).

My dad was a teacher and loaned the custodian at his school some money one day. The guy hadn’t been able to pay him back, so he offered my dad a revolver on the day that he retired and he accepted. I couldn’t believe my dad would take possession of a gun from a man that he barely knew. I said, “What if he killed someone with that gun!” My dad just shrugged and was like it doesn’t matter because I don’t have to register it.

In Oklahoma you don't even need a license for a concealed carry. We even have open carry and you don't need a license for that either. You can carry a gun on your hip and take it anywhere unless it is posted "No Guns Allowed".

Oklahoma Gun Laws: What You Need to Know | USCCA

Do You Have to Tell a Cop You Have a Gun in Your Car in Oklahoma?

Yes. You must notify an officer that you are concealed carrying in a vehicle in Oklahoma.

Do I Have to Register My Gun in Oklahoma? Is There a Waiting Period to Buy a Handgun in Oklahoma?
No. Handguns do not need to be registered in Oklahoma. In addition, there is no waiting period after purchasing a handgun in Oklahoma.

*Note: The governor signed constitutional carry into law on February 27, 2019. It will go into effect on November 1, 2019. This will allow anyone at least 21 years old who can legally own a firearm to carry openly or concealed without a permit. Some areas are off-limits and can be found on our Oklahoma gun laws page.

Without a license, any person — except a convicted felon — may transport an unloaded firearm in plain view in a case designed for carrying firearms. The firearm must be wholly or partially visible, in a gun rack mounted in the vehicle or in an exterior locked compartment or the trunk.

I was speaking more in terms of the Wagners following the law when it came to guns. The silencer/s they made were illegal, correct?

Better yet, the Wagners didn't follow any laws. Period.

MOO but I don't think it is illegal to own or make a gun silencer/muffler.

Actually, there are charges in th Wags indictments that apply to the silencers. In Ohio they are still illegal.

The Wagners was in business selling horse, (dogs) and pigs maybe the Wagners gave those dogs to the Rhodens when they where all family and friends, JMO
