JMO, once the trial process begins, it won't last very long. The more the public learns about these crimes the higher they'll want to hang the Wagners.

ETA: With the latest filings for JW and AW, among other things, the outlook for the Wagners is increasingly grim these days. It's all uphill from here. They should really consider working with prosecutors on a plea agreement.

Not sure what you mean. The Rhodens never fired on the Wagners so there is no self defense, Canepa clarified only 2 victims were not in bed. No bullets were found from Rhoden guns, just shell casings from Wagner guns that match shell casings from Wagner property.

If your talking about a court defense, pre-trial and trial, then yes the defense will give their clients' a defense, they have to or their convictions could be overturned for lack of representation.

The defense is just doing their job filing motions for evidential hearings, calling shoe print and ballistics evidence pseudo science and wanting to get that incriminating evidence thrown out if at all possible, plus get statements that were made thrown out etc....

The defense was just doing their job when writing their bond motion for Billy saying the evidence doesn't connect him to the crimes and he was best friends with Chris Sr. amongst other declarations.

Angie told Rita about her attorneys' defense strategies on a jail phone call.

GW4's attorney said in court he "wanted to find out what this is all about"
meaning how the prosecution was connecting his client to the crimes and he was trying to distance GW4 from Angela and Jake. He said he almost stopped the hearing because it seemed to be more about Angela and Jake then about George.

Just doing his job with not a great deal to work with because there are too many recorded texts and phone calls that are incriminating even though the attorney denies they are incriminating. 100 days of recording GW4 over 2 summers, 8,000 recordings and texts.

He had no defense for why GW4 said the few things brought up in court:

Your always getting us into trouble over some girl.
I told you you should have gotten rid of your phone.
Don't come down here we have company.
I want to smash Scheiderer's face in.
Scheiderer and DeWine and Reader are going to pay for this.
If they have the gun they have the silencer.
We have a family emergency.
I bought a night scope, I had a right to do this for hunting raccoons.
I bought a Captain America mask.
Don't talk in the truck wait till we get home.
Our truck and house are bugged.

So yes there will be a defense for the Wagners. It has already started long ago with all those motions that were filed in 2019 and with the bond motions and with the current evidentiary hearing motions to try to throw out evidence and in GW4's bond hearing trying to distance GW4 from the crimes - and apparently from Angie and Jake.

Hi.. its about drugs and money also. 4 months into this they pointed to the wags and only after another 2 plus years are they arrested. dwit n redr left that little girl with the Ws(killers) all they way up to the arrest and only after the finds of spent shells a vcr and parts of a gun silencer? good lord whoever left those things on the property would have just left the video of that night we wouldnt need any trials. one week after dwit becomes governor the case breaks wide open evidence everywhere shells recordings silencer parts all on the wags property yet in the beginning dwit made it sound like we were dealing with super cell killers on steriods cunning smart well planned but almost 3 years later they tell us we found the main evidence needed to arrest these cunning brillant criminals and its on their own property. redr moves all the location evidence down public roads and places them in a non secured fence in area (outside)think maybe shells can appear. im about facts il do the JMO now because thats what we do to cover ourselves. so all this being said i havnt posted in a very long time.. im waiting for facts.. then im waiting for the movie dwit will be played by woody allen of coarse. redr.. jim gaffigan. i just cant grip with the idea of these men leaving that baby with the Ws for almost 3 years knowing what we didnt(sad). maybe thats the reason jake is smiling.. he already won in his mind. and JMO i think LE was thinking one of them would flip when they all were arrested because one of them didnt pull a trigger but its all JMO(whew) just the facts mam just the facts. but imagine what a Johnnie Cochran Anne Bremner or even Leslie Abramson could do with this case but thats only for the super rich.. over 200 officers cant be wrong but the path they took seems like they were looking at EVERYTHING not just murders. reread my first line. maybe borrowed money? we will soon find out when the facts are presented.. just the facts. i enjoy reading all your post! justice for the Rhodens finally.

These words from DeWine speak volumes IMO. There is so much more we will learn at trial, and my opinion is, some on here will be hard pressed to believe just how horrific these murders actually were.

With all due respect there is nothing wrong with discussing the defenses strategy and tactics, or even anticipated strategy. We need to be prepared this is going to get ugly. The defense attorneys do not care if their client is guilty, their job is to get the Wag's free or as light of a sentence as they can. They will bash and slander the victims, the Rhoden's, the Manley's and the Gilly families every step of the way. Just because a member or the group discusses the defense's actions or normal strategy does not mean anyone is suggesting they are innocent (and if someone thinks they are innocent that is okay too, we don't have to agree) we need to be able to sleuth/discuss every aspect of these trails and court proceedings without being attacked.
