Below is a section of our WS timeline for the Rhoden Family Massacre and investigation covering the year 2017.

The entry below that is in bold red is an addition from May 22, 2017 I've made referring to Pike County Prosecutor Rob Junk's announcement that they were convening a Grand Jury to hear evidence relating to charges against James Manley for removing the GPS device from his truck. BCI had placed the device there on April 22, 2017, while the Manley family were attending the memorial service to honor the 1 year anniversary of the massacre of their family members.

Speculation since killer George Wagner 4's hearing a few days ago centers on GW4's defense request for transcripts of a grand jury hearing around this time. The implication and rumor relating to this motion is that Jake Wagner was subpoenaed for this GJ hearing. JMO

JMO Further implication and speculation from GW4's defense team is that Jake Wagner said something in this GJ hearing that linked his brother GW4 to the murders. JMO, I doubt that's the case as this GJ was called to focus on allegations against James Manley (later proven false) that he was interfering in the investigation and had somehow played a role in helping murder his family.

Manley is charged with one count of tampering with evidence and one count of vandalism. As you can see from the timeline, the state had only recently begun to question some members of the Wagner family regarding the Rhoden Massacre. For reasons unknown, BCI had also planted a tracking device on Jake Wagner's truck. Since Jake didn't remove his device, one can speculate that he knew it was there and was "cooperating" with BCI.

James Manley was later exonerated, but the focus of this alleged GJ hearing was to reveal that James Manley involved in the murders. This hearing likely had nothing to do with GW4. If, as is claimed by some, the BCI later retrieved Jake Wagner's finger/palm print from something at that hearing, it wouldn't have been relevant. JMO. If BCI suspected Jake or any other Wagner family member killed the Rhodens, they would have stopped them from leaving the state.

JMO, this tactic by GW4's defense team is nothing more than a distraction and an attempt to taint the jury pool by once again raising the false allegations against James Manley. It's an unconscionable move by GW4's defense team. The Manleys have suffered enough. Only the lowest of defense teams would resort to such tactics. JMO

You hit the nail on the head here— interesting analysis of GW4 and his legal team. He really had no reason to be involved in the murders. And because of that, a jury will realize that his presence that night = participation = guilt. MOO. IMO.

Further re the discussion about Jake testifying James Manley's May 2017 GJ hearing, a review of Jake Wagner's discovery documents shows no entry for fingerprint evidence taken any time in 2017.

Perhaps Agent Scheiderer's quote about a grand jury hearing refers to some other hearing? If, as GW4's attorneys allege, JW was under suspicion, wouldn't they have taken fingerprint evidence from his truck while they were planting the GPS tracking device? It's all a "red herring".

No, I do not know the date and am not sure it has been said. For some reason July 2018 date sticks out in my mind but I cannot say for sure. BCI agent did not say in court a date they took his print from the GJ proceeding and from what I recall it did not say a date in the court document.
Opinion: It was in the court document a good while before that ever came out in court.
Seems JW would have been in Alaska end of May 2017, does not mean he could not have been ordered to come back for a GJ but would seem doubtful it was at that time.

Since you and I are discussing this at this time and I am sure that you and I understand what we are discussing, I will add that there has never been anyone stating or claiming that JW was at JM's GJ hearing that I have seen.

betty what i recall about jakes palm print was that it was somehow compared to match the palm in a picture on jakes cell phone/social media of a 1911 .22 im not sure if that involves an ink like impression like a finger print, or if it sometype of image comparison etc. either way youve done a great job back tracking these dates and events. get a niew piece of info and its kinda like magic eye many things come into focus at once. ive always considered that jake had some sort of video surveilance of bci/james manley.
there is a mention of a video camera in the indictments and imo framing the manleys was an active plan not just coincidences. you kno aw thinks shes a master manipulator. but i think their smug plan to frame the manleys got over confident around this time and something happened to snap the wagners into focus. exposed for the true animals they are. this event could have been finding said hypothetical camera. either way they pushed the manley theory too far which made them appear suspicous, as if they had something to hide. they were too proactive and confindent bci would label the rhodens murders as drug related. honestly without reader, it may have. the press coverage in beginning was truly atrocious. especially considering it was only weed, legal in ohio now. they were cast as scum of the earth, ive always believed angela tipped the grows early.

Yes, the Wagners definitely went too far in trying to frame the Manley family. JMO They "jumped the shark". There are times, looking back, when it seems this could have become a "cold case".

ETA: My theory has been that JW or AW had hacked the Facebook messaging accounts, email, etc. of James M and his wife. Jake was sending fake messages to make it look like they were in contact with someone around the time of the murders. Hidden video cam is also possible. Wasn't there info in a news story that the Wags put a video camera on one of the Rhoden's dogs?

Also, when AC said in the recent hearing that JW told them what vehicle that was used to drive up to the scene that night, do you think she meant that it was literally driven up to the scene that night as in right up to the home/s? I had thought that they probably drove it close and ditched it down a path or in a wooded area and walked to each scene but I am not sure how she meant that.

Since it was said by JW they bought a vehicle to use that night, was it one that wouldn’t raise suspicion if seen?

What about if maybe Dana and Hanna Mae was called saying the baby was sick (SW) needing something, that would be how they could have came through the front door without any effort, in the autopsy report of Hanna Mae Rhoden it stated that she had a blood embolism from giving birth that was really painful so she probably was having a hard time walking around so I really believe Jake called saying SW was needing something, one FB report from JMs wife said that JM started into DRs house but could see Dana legs in the hallway and didn’t want to go no further because he knew what BJM found he also heard the baby crying, we do not know for sure that all of them at DR house wasKILLED iN THEIR SLEEP because LE could have been telling that story to get the killer talking, JMO

Since it was said by JW they bought a vehicle to use that night, was it one that wouldn’t raise suspicion if seen?

AC also mentions ways that G4 could have been complicit, she names several things and one was altering a vehicle. It seemed strange that she would just pick that as being an example out of the blue. I am NOT saying she said that he did that, I am saying she gave examples of how he could be complicit and that was one.

Yes, there are some terrifying crimes that have been followed live here at WS that stick in your memory. This was one. There are several others that come to mind. When I look back at the first threads here, there's so much missing due to Mods deleting the many rumors that were going around.

After the Rhoden family murders, I kept checking for arrests, etc. It finally happened. The wheels of justice definitely turn slowly.
