Photo of courtroom. They have added some chairs.
How many people can sit in the gallery? I would guess about 100. Maybe 125 if they can squeeze in on the benches. Would that include media people? Family alone can fill those seats. i don’t see how this can work out.
Witnesses must not be in courtroom until called to testify, so where will they be?
Are there many more room is the building that can accommodate extra persons of any definition - witness, media, support people, technical support, security, etc.
I don’t see it happening easily.
Anyone know how Angela C. Is doing?
All better?
Is this tweet saying trial starts Monday at 9 a.m. central time? I thought it was 9 a.m. eastern time.

3 pages to catch-up on after having a couple of quiet days taking in the shock news that our Queen Elizabeth died. I'm so sad.

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between Central and Eastern Time please? I just took it that in the UK we are 2pm while Pike County is 9am.

Honestly from the very moment I read about the murders my thoughts went straight to an ex boyfriend and custody. My first thought was someone in that family brought this evil into their home. That is not to blame Hannah at all, she knew he was abusive that is why she left him. I believe with all my heart that she never knew he was capable of what he did. She could never have believed that and loved him as she did at first. But I do think she knew George and Billy were capable of it. Something about those two, Billy especially, makes me cringe every time I see his picture. You can see the evil in his eyes. But the most evil of them all was Jake. Jake manipulated them all. I think he played up the GF's criminal history and fired up his mother and brother with "stories" of what SW supposedly told him, or what he may have observed. Billy, I believe was the least interested in any of it. I think all he cared about was his next fix. But Jake filling Angie's head full of what "may" happen to her GD then her filling Georges head full and all three of them hammering Billy's addled brain led to this. But as I have said from day one....this was Jake's show all the way. His child, his in-laws, his ex. Everyone, including news media said when he pled guilty he "choked up" with remorse. I have watched that hearing at least a hundred times, and I saw absolutely no remorse. I did not see him "choke up with remorse" but I did see him struggled to keep from laughing, even once covering his mouth to stop his grin from being seen. If there is any justice in this world, him or Angie will get caught lying and the DP will be back on the table.

We again saw a massacre of a family, 10 dead and 19 injured 4 days ago in Canada. And again it will be over child custody. This time killing not only in laws but his own family. They now believed the brother found deceased was also a victim of the other brother.

This is becoming all too common in families. that is because one of the parents is a psychopath with narcissistic tendencies. Add to that drugs and you have a recipe for disaster.

A great post, thank you. I didn't see remorse either. All four should be put down as far as I'm concerned.

Late reply as I've had a couple of days off.

In the US central time zone is one hour behind eastern time zone. Ohio is in the eastern time zone. I'm pretty sure the trial is scheduled for 9 a.m. eastern time on Monday. Jmo

It's strange as I've watched the previous hearings and didn't realise there was a difference of time zones. Just lucky I've logged in at the right time here in UK.

I agree, all of Ohio is on Eastern Standard Time.

EST = 0 = -4 GMT
CST = -1 hours = -5 GMT
MST = -2 hours = -6 GMT
PST = -3 hours = -7 GMT

I think she is just having a little fun with a disappointing piece of info.
Thank you @ Frankie T.

You are absolutely correct. I would never encourage anyone to violate a court order. I was just having a bit of fun to offset the disappointment of not getting to listen to Jake and Angie try to squirm their way out of all this.

TV is the only way I can view the trial as I live over 800 miles away.

i think the reason that Angela Canepa objected to Jake and Angie's testimony being made public is she has one other trial to go. Billy's. I think that heavily weighed on her objection to J and A being filmed or recorded. Billy's attorney's will have to take notes and go off memory.

Alaska would be 4 hours behind I think. On that note I wonder if anyone in Alaska will be watching? It starts here at 8 AM so would be 5AM in AK.

Condolences to all of the Queens subjects. I too am very sad at the news. RIP HRH Queen Elizabeth II. She was an extraordinary woman.

GMT is 6 hours ahead I think. Central time is one hour earlier than Eastern time. So if it is 9AM in Ohio it is 8AM here in CST. I think that would mean it would be 1PM your time.

O/T

As a side note the Chief of the Cree nation in Canada said he received a letter of condolences from the Queen on Thursday. HRH worked up to her very last hours to uphold her duty. What a great person she was.

I would think anyone who went to that church in alaska where Jake was introduced to his wife would be interested in this if they can get a television signal(or electric at all). For that matter anyone in that small town they lived in temporarily while they hoped Law enforcement would forget about them as suspects, I would think would be interested. I know if I was in either of those two situations I would be. It's not every day the most diabolical family of serial killers moves into your small town to blend in and.....wait for it.....get this.....goes to church because they are good church going do gooders. You know Church....where you learn there are actually 10 commandments not just 9. Perhaps, the "Wagner 4" forgot about the one that said "Thall shall not kill".

Oh, I think you're right, Raize. That hadn't occurred to me, but she may want to keep some of the details of their testimony from being heard prior to Billy's trial. Also possible Billy's attorneys don't want it heard, either.

I believe the reason she wants it out of the public eye. She doesn't want everyone to know, the true story. That she let the ring leader walk with a 30 year sentence. I believe with JW, giving up the guns, and a little other info. She did not have anything to give. As far as other crimes, she might of given info on. That has nothing to do with the 8 people killed in this crime. This is the only case they are charged with. So do your job and prosecute, it to the fullest extent of the law. I am sorry, but this is not justice for the Rhoden/Gilly case. I personally have no, faith that G4 will be found guilty. If you listen to what Reader said from the beginning. Pike county is and has been full of corruption, and starts at the top,. Including the Sheriff at the time (Reader). This trial should of been taken away from anyone in Pike County. If the Ohio tax payers are picking up the cost. Which we will in the end. It should been moved away from the southern part of the state. Kept as far away from Wagner crime family reach, especially, any county including, Hamilton county. (Jeff Ruby back yard).
Taken north of I-70.

I hear what you're saying, I understand the skepticism. So much has happened. I do, however, think Special Prosecutor Canepa wants to put all the Wagners in prison for the rest of their natural lives. The deal with Angela was a result of her not being at the scene of the murders. Perhaps her 30 yr sentence was the result of vital information and evidence she shared. Perhaps she was the one who told them where the murder weapons were hidden - in the pond on FWF. IDK, but I don't think she gave her that break without good reason. AC has been playing the "long game" pretty well for the last 6 years.

jw and aw were not made to allocute. and now this. what a disgrace. people who have pled guilty to charges like these and are in jail for 30 plus years have no expectation of privacy. certainly does not apply when they go home to prison.
i hate to go there, but i strongly feel this is politically motivated someone is tuning deering up for damage control. a WITNESS should be afforded this privacy, but not a CO-CONSPIRATOR.
allocution is generally a focal point when generous plea bargains are struck. these animals killed 8 people and are allowed to plead guilty under cloak of secrecy. i can see why they thought they could get away with murdering the rhodens after the white glove service they've received from deering so far. what a joke he is. unreal.
this is crafted to keep the national media exposure to a minimum even though they had no problem dragging the victims through the mud. angela never should have got a deal they had a strong case against her for all 8 murders whether she was there or not. deering has been led around by his nose the entire time. even if angela was given a deal she should still have had to plead guilty to the 8 murders. dismissing any of the charges after a promise by dewine of no deals has set the tone for this entire debacle.
hopefully these wagners get dealt the hand they deserve in prison, the same one they afforded the rhodens. because the justice system wont hold them accountable in any real way. 23 hour lock down is what they deserve while they wait for the date with their needle. instead theyll lounge around prison with internet, texting, smartphones, fan mail, commisary deposits, drugs tv etc.....wow
very disappointing!!

We in the US share your pain. Queen Elizabeth was a classy lady!

I am really confused .
Thinking of the possibility ( I believe either one of them could decide they want to be seen and heard)
that JW and AW ‘s testimony will not include video or audio, reporters and anyone in the courtroom will be able to hear them speak. I assume reporters will be able to report on what they hear. Others in the courtroom, family, can be interviewed as to what they heard said. So the testimony will come out, won’t it?
Or am I wrong, is there a gag order on reporting testimony of those who decline?
Thinking about Billy hearing all details.

Yes. Everyone in the courtroom will see them and hear their testimony, including the news media.

As Raize pointed out, it's possible the state is keeping the full testimony out of the popular media for now. Because Billy's trial is scheduled for sometime around the end of this year, widespread public coverage of the details of their testimony could result in Billy's defense attorneys claiming he can't get a fair trial or objective jury, etc. Billy's attorneys might claim they can't seat an unbiased jury, need to move the trial, etc. It might also have to do with the state protecting it's case against Billy.

Can't Billy's attorneys just buy the transcripts for the trial? Or you are just saying the the full testimony won't be out there for the regular people... potential jurors?

How many people can fit on those benches depends on the size of the people attending. More than 38% of Pike County’s adult residents are considered obese as per The Ohio Department of Health in 2019. Obesity rates are considerably higher than state (32%) and national averages (31%). I have not seen more recent figures but I highly doubt that the citizens have improved their health , including obesity levels, despite many attempts by various agencies.
