Hi folks. Been awhile… glad to see GW’s trial is finally underway. I thought a few of Dana’s male family members might allow their testimony to be seen/heard. I’m pretty sure Leonard Manley would want his testimony shouted from the rooftops if he were still alive to tell it, God rest his soul!
On the topic of the judge’s ruling re: witness testimonies — it could always be worse. The judge overseeing the ongoing Kristin Smart trial has completely banned live streaming and audio recordings. Only one press photographer and one press videographer are allowed inside the courtroom and together they make up the entire press pool. The videographer is only allowed to record video (no audio) of the judge, defendants, and attorneys. Only a limited number of reporters are allowed inside the courtroom each day, and those that get in are determined on a first come first serve basis (i.e., the first __ number of reporters that sign in each morning). All other reporters must watch the proceedings from the overflow room. Laptops, cell phones, and other electronic devices are not permitted inside the courtroom nor the overflow room. The press has to solely rely upon whatever notes they manage to jot down by hand.
ETA: The press pool in the KS trial is also not allowed to record or photograph evidence/exhibits.
