Hey alto. But their is also evidence of drag marks back to the bedroom. If shot in bedroom that would not be so. Just IMO

Ohio is different, I'll say. They do what they want, there's not a lot of public accountability or transparency. Have lived here 20+ years. You really notice it if you're not native to the state. It's probably similar for natives who have spent time living elsewhere.

Like many states, though, local LE in more remote/rural areas follow their own rules on these things with only light oversight. This area (Appalachian Ohio) has also struggled for quite some time with economic upheaval and a terrible time with the opioid crisis.

We'll see if the trend continues with BCI (Ohio's Bureau of Criminal Investigation). BCI agents have already testified in pre-trial hearings, they oversaw most of the investigation.
Thank you @Betty P for the local insight. Your statements reminded me of the scandal surrounding the local, investigating sheriff (Reader)! It seems less "opt-out" witness testimony is expected today.

Someone posted here recently that KR only grew MJ in the fields. We know by the testimony of LR today that the "bottom of the shack" was used. That's also what we heard in interviews early in the case, those videos are hard to find or just not available, so my own opinion.

LR hid nothing in his testimony as far as the marijuana and roosters.

Direct of Luke Rhoden continued - showing him photo of bedroom, and his father, he states blanket position is different but he nor Donald moved it, money and pants in same place as he saw, again showing him weed shed and photo of camera on top of weed shed, he says there was trail camera in the tree, was also a camera inside the grow shed, so pictures AC showed him of cameras were not the ones he spoke of, the trail cam in weed shed was right by door, there is no picture of camera in weed shed, do not know how many plants in shed, more pictures of grow room,

photos of his shoes taken by cops, did not go into any other Rhoden homes that day, did not change clothes before cops took him to station for interview, Dad heavy sleeper at times, if he was on blood pressure medication was heavy sleeper, KR retaliated against someone who beat up CRsr, now pointing out trail cam in tree facing towards path to KR home and KR camper

I agree, Luke said Donald brushed past him inside the camper, moving closest to KR.

  • #546
I wonder what CR first thought when he saw Ws lurking outside his home. It had to be a surprise IMO because if known earlier CR and others would have likely been way more alert.

I think they did verify that, probably not until AFTER they arrested James. They didn't say anything publicly because those were the orders from DeWine. No discussing the investigation, evidence or anything about the murders.

All we knew is that the prosecutor (Junk IIRC) moved James case to review by a grand jury. Nothing happened after that, so it was assumed BCI figured out the truth. By that time, they were suspicious of the Wags. It was a week or so before James' arrest that BCI and PCSO had searched the Wagner properties.

Better link, hopefully not broken

I looked up a few of those dates a couple of days ago because I too was disturbed about James’ being tracked & arrested.
The search of the Peterson Rd house was 5/12/17. I believe the Ws left for Alaska the day (or so) prior. This was the search of items in storage.

James' arrest over destroying the tracker on his car was 5/16/17.

DeWine put out the "persons of interest" announcement on 6/21/17 (when they were already in Alaska)

I do not have the date when BCI had access to their phones. I was thinking BCI got the laptops in June (when Ws were returning from Alaska). Does anyone have those dates handy? Or the date they returned from Alaska?

They are explaining this further with Luke's testimony. Luke was first in, Donald right behind. Donald went further in up some stairs to the bedroom (see photo above of a camper with a raised bedroom area where stairs up to a bedroom can be understood better) and Donald saw Kenny's body with the blood on his head and said something like "you don't want to see this, get back out of here" So both things are true. Luke was first in, but Donald was first to see this body and told Luke you don't want to see this.

Yes I heard that thank you. I was replying to a poster of what my thoughts were at the time, way back. It might have even stemmed from autopsy stating slithers or sprinters of wood were in CR Snr wound.

I am not sure what advice the defense has given George, but every time the camera pans across or focuses on him, his demeanor is just that of a guilty man. He has a look on his face that says, I'll kick your butt and don't care. I don't see an innocent man sitting there wrongly accused. I must say in photos and other things I've seen or read, I had the feeling like his dad was this hard person to be feared and he was more of a follower or just along for the ride. I don't know, now seeing him sit in court, zero expression or emotion during this testimony and not just no emotion, but the look on his face as if he is ready to kill again. That is my opinion of course and maybe he just has this look, but man he looks rough and tough.

Apologies! I am sure we will hear about these details when the medical examiner testifies.

I agree, he looks worried and PO'd.

I've typed and deleted some of my thoughts about the defense. Are they surrendering?

My thought was “Man, he sure has a mean RBF”.

What I don't understand is why George didn't take a deal if he really didn't kill anyone. Why didn't he agree to testify and share what he knew if he was really only part of planning before. I believe it's because he was there, did shoot his gun (weather his bullets killed anyone or not I don't know, but I believe he was involved way more than the defense has suggested). He had the most to lose because if he really wasn't involved that night, I don't believe he didn't know about it at all until after they were arrested. This family operated as one. He knew and he had a chance to take a deal and explain how little involvement he had and what he knew and he didn't take it. I really don't know what the defense is thinking.

Yes fred, there was drag marks. In my mind I thought the wood was in his arm and CR was able to walk into lounge area where he was killed. JMO. It was so long ago wasn't it, my early notes from way back got destroyed so all from an aging brain for that time period.

Yes, she said that. She said in Jake's confession, he said they came up with the idea of Billy telling CR that he wanted to talk to him about a possible lucrative drug deal with some big dealer they knew. They wanted to do it as a ruse to get Chris out of the house. JMO, it sounds like an odd story, but keep in mind, this is Jake's allegation. It's what Jake told the prosecutors in his confession.

I think they wanted to make it look like drug dealers or cartel did it. Was CR originally supposed to be shot with or near the grow?

I actually typed that out and then deleted and wrote "maybe he just has that look" LOL It really is not a face I'd like to encounter. His dad and him both have an intimidating presence already based on size, but add that look and ugh.

George does look angry. Yesterday, during an audio only testimony, he seemed particularly mad and looked directly into the camera. Scared me.

Where can I hear Luke Rhoden's testimony and latest testimony?

Who has best testimony?

Super busy week.

Is he attempting to intimidate witnesses? Maybe not directly, but does he think this look will make them nervous? It can't be going over well with the jurors. I'd be leery just sitting in court knowing he's seeing me day after day.
