I don't believe they've found physical evidence for any of them. They have 2 of the 4 that pled out. We don't know what other evidence they may have, in the voice recordings or otherwise.
Are you saying no one piece of evidence can be explicitly tied to one family member?

They did eventually find the firing pin (in the well at Peterson Rd) that was a direct match of some of the casings found at some of the crime scenes, which was the final piece that led to their arrest.

But I guess without Jake’s proffer, no one piece of evidence does explicitly link any one person*. It was all circumstantial up to finding that firing pin.

No wonder it took so long to make an arrest - something I know we ALL had a hard time understanding.

*MOO Based on opening statements. I’m still catching up. May have missed something.

Just checking in. Law & Crime feed is good. They're looking at the totes found in the Wagner related search May 12 2017

Found ski masks in those totes. Did BCI use Luminol on those? Hope so, it might have revealed traces of blood.

They do have shoe print evidence of him being present at 2 of the crime scenes. In addition, they have evidence of his participation in planning and covering up the murders. Testimony from JW and AW also add confirmation of the state's evidence.
I agree. Finding the receipt + video of AW is pretty darn strong evidence , even if they don’t have the shoes, even if they can’t put GW’s feet in the shoes.

Receipts!

Sorry. I was talkjng about fingerprints and DNA. I should have been clearer

Edit: someone had asked specifically about GWIV and physical evidence. I took it meaning DNA, etc..

Camera kit purchased at West Union Wal-Mart for $299 plus 3 year service plan. Can't make out date of purchase. What is the significance of this? Used to spy on their victims?

I don’t think you are wrong though (in general). I think you explained why it took so long to make arrests - something I personally struggled to understand.

They spent a lot of money on gadgets, guns and ammo. It's a shame they didn't spend more on interior decorating. JMO

I still struggle with that. JMO, they could have done this sooner. It shouldn't have taken a year to get a SW or to even begin questioning the Wags.

ETA: In these threads here at WS, we were literally cheering the day BCI finally searched Peterson Rd and the FWF. There was a play-by-play going on for 2 days+ (there were some other LE related things that happened in that area afterwards). If members here figured it out that early... I will zip it for now.

Sadly and unbelievably, I think they did spend money on interior decorating, all that red, red, red paint everywhere probably drove them crazier than their usual crazy
seriously, any Google search on the psychology of color
brings up ( among other less negative mood info)
“Red is the warmest and most dynamic of the colors—it triggers opposing emotions. It is often associated with passion and love as well as anger and danger.”

Real optimism there, taking out a 3-year service plan when you are planning or have executed a massacre of 8 people.

I wasn't following the case here in those days, although I followed via the news so I am interested in what you are zipping...

Lock pick set-not surprised!

I mean seriously--why would these people save all this stuff that skews "for criminal use only" or "could be used on a murder spree" or "makes us look guilty"? Why SAVE all that stuff?

They didn't lack for confidence, arrogance. Narcissistic psychos.

Found the brass catchers. Now grips.

Not to be critical, but should they be handling this evidence without wearing gloves? What if there are appeals, etc (there will be) and they need to re-examine evidence? We see it all the time here at WS in cold cases, etc.

Look back in the old threads here when you have some time to spare. We discussed a lot of stuff. People reached quite a few conclusions just from reading the Facebook pages of the victims and their friends, family, etc. Hanna's problems with Jake were pretty obvious. You know, around here everyone always looks first at a boyfriend, spouse or ex-spouse first.
