I didn't hear the date of this search? Is this the piece of evidence (found late Oct 2018) that finally gave the clearance for their arrests? The defense is starting to do the defending now, we are moving into areas where GW is mentioned and there may be evidence against him, and the arrival of JW and AW may be imminent
but it was explained sufficientlythey didn't look carefully enough at the date of birth on the bank account of the GW, both the state and the forensic accountant didn't look closely at the date of births on the account, if they had they would have seen that the date of birth was too old for GW4 and was his father's date of birth, with GW3 and a GW4 involved I would have thought you would have been extra careful to make sure you knew which one had which account,
the jury see this, what if any weight they give to an expert making a mistake only they will know, but it was a significant mistake, as that account t had the 40.000 insurance fraud money in,
what was the explanation I missed that part?but it was explained sufficiently
I think it was the thing that finally led to the arrests, probably after forensics were done. They may have found whatever materials were found at the crime scenes or in the wounds inside that test fired flashlight suppressor?I didn't hear the date of this search? yes, it was collected in 18 and ATF x-rayed it to see what it was,I didn't hear the date of this search? Is this the piece of evidence (found late Oct 2018) that finally gave the clearance for their arrests?
only after the defense pointed it out, the state thought they had proved that GW4 had a bank account with AW, and in that bank account a GW received 40,000 insurance payout, it would be very misleading if the jury were left thinking that was GW4 insurance payout, so it was a mistake by the witness, but it was explained sufficiently
Definitely! I will say before I was married to a Jr I had no idea the ways things can get mixed up like that. It is one reason we opted not to name our sons with the designation the III. When many generations are all still alive with the same name, and living in the same area, it can be extra tricky. If I recall correctly for us it took some time and work to get the records straightened out for just the truck being on the wrong one. That could possibly be why, should have checked that birthdate!
This is so important. It shows the purchased had to be after that date. No claiming they had this for years before and always made silencers. It must have accidently got burned up and then also accidently fell in the cistern that was covered up and hidden after.Maglight part recovered from well was manufactured Jan. 13, 2016 according to witness.
Agree it was a mistake but in redirect it was IMO addressed and corrected.only after the defense pointed it out, the state thought they had proved that GW4 had a bank account with AW, and in that bank account a GW received 40,000 insurance payout, it would be very misleading if the jury were left thinking that was GW4 insurance payout, so it was a mistake by the witness,
and it is up to the jury to decide what weight if any they give to a mistake, and if this has any impact of what they think of the witness's testimony
He is good at explaining. You can tell he enjoys his job and enjoys explaining these things. I always appreciate witnesses that seem excited about their job. Not related specifically to this trial, but it always makes me think those people have found their calling and really are working in an area they are interested in and can use that interest to help the world.ATF witness on stand showing how to make a suppressor out of Maglight.
Really interesting demonstration on how to make a silencer.
I was thinking if the state proves GW4 a shooter, and JW's testimony goes against his proffer, it might change their DP status. But it's a moot point since the state simply has to be satisfied with the testimony.
I may be overthinking today.
Right, he's loving explaining in detail how to make a silencer. Now we all know how to make oneHe is good at explaining. You can tell he enjoys his job and enjoys explaining these things.
