No wonder the victims families were shaking their heads in disbelief and crying.

Now we know why Nash looked so astonished also. He probably couldn't believe Jake was laughing and belching when he talked about killing Hannah May. Or that he was snickering when he talked about how he killed all the Rhodens and Hanna Hazel.

Wah-sa'ba sih-it'-sinke weh-ts'ah

JMO
There are problems, too, with George’s lawyers changing his story. First they say he wasn’t there, then they say he went to protect Jake. The Wagners are a family of liars who can’t keep their stories straight. They’re all guilty.

Had George taken a plea, he would not be facing the death penalty. He made the choices, first to go along on a murder rampage and then to go to trial instead of taking a deal.
True. They’re all guilty. That’s how it will end and the community will be rid of them for a very long time. Let the victims rebuild their lives and see justice served.

I see where the defense attorneys are going with GW4s defense plea, their going in the direction of that Jake Wagner lied about George being at the murders scene just to get out of the death penalty, because Jake has did it his whole life about using George as escape goat for time of trouble, JMO

Jake doesn’t need to lie about George to get out of the death penalty. His own truthful confession is enough to earn himself a LWOP sentence.

I tend to believe him when he says he lied to protect his father and George. Apparently the state didn’t believe him either at first, when he said he killed all 8 victims himself. Evidence showed that wasn’t true.

I agree with you but GW4 attorneys has to use what other witness says about how Jake blamed GW4 for everything to get out of trouble when the two were kids, the defense attorney for George doesn’t have a lot to use for GW4 defense, the Wagner’s never had a close friendship or relationship with other people except the 4 Wagner’s, like someone said on here last week they used the young women that the brothers let come into their family for a short while. I see none of the tweeter people mentioned that no trial today - continued to Friday...

Beth said that George would go with Chris N while "scrapping" whatever that is. But she said George would complain Chris was cheating him out of money when the items were sold or work done. I think that is what put the rift between Chris and George a month ago.

JMO
Scrapping is metal scrapping for money.

Rita had pleaded guilty in December 2019 - shortly thereafter, Jake confessed to his lawyers "to get it off my chest.”

Jake's lawyers eventually approached prosecution about possible deal - that was reached in March/April 2021

This.
Wonder how long it takes to reach a plea deal in such a massive case? In other words, could it actually have taken all that time for so many people involved here, to finally get it to him confessing in court? Keeping in mind, the legal system moves as slow as a turtle. Hmmmm....

I have zero doubt the 4 Ws are guilty of these murders. The extent of their involvement may differ but they are all guilty of conspiracy to commit murder.

Im no longer going to worry or try to dissect hiccups occurring during the course of this trail. I have opinions but i dont have any legal expertise to argue for or against a particular motion. We all process information differently. The past 2 days has proved the differences in our views.

I wouldnt be surprised if GW4 was given 30 or 40 to life sentence. Meaning, he would have to serve a minimum of 30 or 40 years before becoming eligible for parole. It is a WAG. I hope he gets LWOP. Jmo

Jake testified he confessed to killing 8 people to his lawyers long before he confessed to LE and the lawyers did not report the criminal activity. I think as officers of the court they are required to do this. I know that I am required to report criminal activity my clients admit to me as a CPA.

Maybe @PrairieWind can shed some light on this?
@PrairieWind are attorneys required as officers of the court to report criminal activity their clients confess to them?
JMO
I'm not an attorney or involved in the legal system, but my understanding is if a defendant tells their attorney the truth that they did the crime, the attorney is not obligated to tell the court or LE. The attorney can't lie to the court when doing the case, so I think the strategy is to put doubt in the mind of the jurors.

I would like to know if FW or any Ws knew the guns were in the cement buckets in their pond.

I think this is where Jake's lawyers get told by Deering that as officers of the court they had a duty to report that their client confessed to criminal activity re: 8 murders.

And this is where Jake gets told he and mommy now gets that dreaded death penalty he sentenced his brother and father to.

ETA: filed today after Jake admitted he confessed to his lawyers long before he confessed to LE.

LMAO
JMO
If he told his lawyers he was guilty, then there is almost no defense they could put up other than "some cartel could have done it."

You make a lot of sense. I've actually never been worried, since George was at the murder scenes and he participated in covering up the murders as well as prepping for them. Conspiracy cases are almost impossible to prove without one of the conspirators being willing to testify. The state has 2 out of 4 willing to say that George went right along with mass murder, no matter what his initial objections might have been.

I think G4 will get LWOP because he was at the murder scene, armed. I'm still not convinced he didn't kill anyone or shoot anyone, although for Aggravated Murder that doesn't matter. There was so much overkill in a few of these cases.

Anything that a client tells his attorney is privileged information, even a confession of murder. The only thing not privileged is if a client tells the attorney that he intends to commit a crime. Or if Jake has waived that privilege.

JMO, there's some legit reason why the prosecution and court want to keep him off camera. I don't think its a frivolous decision.

This is a very valid point. For some reason the prosecution wants to keep JW off camera. IMO, I don't think it's because they are worried about hurting his feelings. It's possible the prosecution wants to do everything in their power to assure a full testimony from Jake. Maybe, at this point the prosecution is more focused on getting a willing, full testimony on record. It appears to me that Jake is testifying to the prosecutions expectation, maybe they do not want a change in attitude from Jake.

This must be rough on the jury. Two long months and trial not even close to being over.

Jake also has to be willing to testify at Billy's trial and he has to make it to that trial so safety could be a real concern and if something happens to him in between he won't be able to testify at Billy's trial. It also occurs to me that if he was on camera then clips of him saying horrible things would be all over the internet and maybe it's in the best interest of the victims here to not have that happening. Thinking about the children involved hearing it on a news clip or even an ad for the upcoming news. So many things could be motivating them.

This is a pix of the SKS-style assault rifle Jake said belonged to his brother, George. On Monday, Jake said George held the gun in "firing position" at the 1st crime scene but basically froze when Jake told him to pull the trigger. Jake said he grabbed the gun & opened fire.

Todd Dykes, WLWT

I'm confused. GW4 froze and jake took the gun and opened fire. How do we know who killed Chris Sr? What am I missing? Did Jake say at one time that his first shot missed Chris Sr? Did any of Jake's shot hit Chris Sr?

One shot thru door hit in face (wood chips in face), one shot to arm nearly tearing off.

Shots to head with .40 cal shell... likely BW IMO from inside the house. Close up too.
