So just thinking ahead...if J and A are lying, how are they to be believed testifying at BWs trial? All the same evidence, same proffers. What new evidence is going to put BW there..this is really scary that that man could walk away from these horrendous crimes. I don't believe Jake and Angela are lying to take George and Billy down with them. There may be discrepancies in their stories but they know who was there..I hope and pray justice is served.
If JW and AW were lying in their proffers the DP is again on the table for them.

I just find it impossible to believe they lied, because their lives were (and are) on the line.

This case is so unusual. We argue amongst ourselves when and if the DP still applies. And Judge Deering could rule completely differently from what we are thinking. GWIV should take the stand (again unusual) and give us (ahead of Billy’s trial) version 3.0 of what happened that night.

But you know G4 won't realistically take the stand.

It was also dark inside the crime scene. Billy, George and Jake were in a hurry to get things cleaned up and to leave. They were also still panicked because these were the first murders of the night, their spree.

They probably didn't notice they were tracking blood around. Jake and George wouldn't have cared because they knew they were using the "decoy" shoes, so prints wouldn't be linked to them, but to Leonard Manley. Well at least that was their plan. it didn't work, though. JMO

ETA: For those asking why Jake and George decided to move the bodies of Chris, Sr and Gary to the back room, it's assumed they didn't want anyone who dropped by to realize there had been a murder. The killers had 3 more homes to visit and murder their sleeping occupants. Two of those residences were also on Union Hill Rd. They didn't need police swarming around their first crime scene while they were in the midst of killing other Rhodens in their homes down the road.

That's the theory, anyway. If Jake discussed it during his testimony, I don't recall it being reported in the news media.
It was also dark inside the crime scene.

Chris and Gary were awake. I would think the lights would be on inside as you wouldn't expect them to be sitting there in the dark especially if they were expecting Billy to come visit.

How do we know that?
It is extremely unusual for a defendant to take the stand. In this case, though, unusual as all this has been, he should. Especially, if this ends in a hung jury and State re-tries, possibly after Billy’s trial… I dunno. George shoulda “ratted Jake out” when he had the chance. Maybe he still can by taking the stand.

I agree, he should take the stand. That is his only chance of beating his charges.

You’re probably right.

Jake and George knew they would be ok because they were wearing the Walmart shoes, which would be destroyed later. That was the whole point of wearing the shoes - to point police in the wrong direction. The shoes were like those worn by Len Manley. They wanted LE to blame the murders on the Manleys.
Billy made sure not to leave any shoe prints.

How do we know that?
We don't 100% know that, but usually the defendant does not take the stand. It almost always is better (or at least not worse) for them to just remain silent.

O/T sorta, but I recall in Molly Tibbits trial the defendant took the stand and told the most unbelievable made up line of crapola story ever about he was abducted and dropped off with Molly's body (something along these lines) and I actually couldn't believe his lawyers put him on the stand to lie. No way they believed that story.

Anyway if they put George on the stand and they know he is involved, I think they can be in trouble if they allow him to stay things they know aren't true.

If he’s involved. Not convinced.

GW signed those fake papers prior to April 21 saying that AW was to have some custody of VW. MOO, just in case he didn't come home from Union Hill Road that morning, the same as JW. I'm thinking they were afraid 1 or 2 people couldn't tangle with CR, KR or FR and come out on without wounds.
There's no doubt in my mind, AW started this whole conspiracy, and GW fed into it.
Was AW attempting to insure that 5 of her Wagner's would get a full piece of FW's pie, and not their baby Mama's families?

We don’t know what he signed. AW put a form in front of him. Was it (fake) notarized at that point? How would GWIV know it was a forgery? Of course he would want custody to go to AW if anything were to happen to him. But why would he think anything would happen to him? He didn’t know what they were planning. Presumably.

ETA: He wasn’t going to Union Hill Road. Presumably.

I fell behind with the trial and this thread and I’m trying to get caught up so please excuse me if this has been addressed and discussed but didn’t Jake say in his testimony that Billy pulled over and asked him if he was sure he wanted to go through with the murders? Did I understand that right? I can’t wrap my head around that. He pulled over on a dark road in the middle of the night popped down the back and was like “hey man you sure about this?” like even in the dead of night in an area that I assume is pretty secluded that’s a pretty big risk imo Am I missing something totally obvious? To me that screams that it was just him and Jake in the cab of the truck.

Yeah, stopped, got out, walked around the back of the truck piled high with hay or straw, opened the tailgate to expose the secret compartment where Jake (and George??) were hiding. To check to see if we’re still doing this. I don’t think so. Agree, Jake was up front in the passenger seat.

If It was just he and Jake in the truck, why pull over and stop to ask? Why not just ask as you drove down the road?

I don’t know. I’m trying to wrap my head around it. Out of his entire testimony that’s the part that is sticking out to me and I just wondered what others thought of that statement. You’re right why would he stop and pull over if Jake was in the cab with him? Unless by stop and pull over he meant he was actually at a red light/stop sign? lol I don’t know I’m just mulling this over in my head.

Pull over as in Stop! This is insane. Stop and think about this.

Jmo approximately 5 1/2 hours from first shot to walking in the Peterson house. Cr approx 11 pm and Angela said they walked in at 4:30am, from what I have read and heard. I wonder how much time they really spent at each house.
Me, too. Maybe, did they look for $, or try to open the safe? I understand their adrenaline was up, but it sure seems like they were gone from Peterson a long time.

Exactly! I think if he takes the stand, Clark Kent / Superman will tear him up !
Junk seems happy go lucky, Canepa, ?
It would have to be Clark Kent, don't know his name.
