grandmothers.
What if there is no hard solid proof that he did participate? There hasn't been any so far. So maybe we should listen to his side of the story with an open mind.

Many sure listened to Jake and Angie's, two confessed killers, side of the story with an open mind, so why not afford George the same courtesy?

JMO
Many think JW and AW lied when they testified so why believe GWIV? Maybe he is a bigger liar then they are…

Anyone know off hand WHEN the defense started their case? I know it was before the State rested.

TIA - :)
Has Prosecution rested yet? I thought they have not officially…

I'm probably going to get rotten tomatoes thrown at me for this, but I'm going to say it anyway because it is my opinion of how I feel after just now finishing listening to GW's testimony right now. I'm questioning at this point, is GW really guilty? Was GW really there when the murders took place?

After hearing it said by AC (I think after AW's proffer), that AW was not there and did NOT participate in the murders, I had a very hard time believing that, and I still have a very hard time believing that. But even more so now at this point, mainly because of 2 reasons. #1 being, throughout GW's trial, we have learned IMO a LOT more about AW, from several peoples testimonies. And with that, I see more so now than ever, how controlling she was. Which now, makes me believe even more that she WAS there when the murders took place! #2 is, Which then, after listening to GW today, makes me think even harder about the possibility that GW was NOT there, but instead AW was but in order for her to get her, IMO, sweet deal, she had to throw GW under the bus because her and GW's roles were actually reversed the night of the murders. But 1 thing that I really question is, then why did GW allegedly sign the custody documents prior to the murders giving AW custody if something happened to him? Has it been testified to that that was truly GW's signature - I can't remember?

BUT, with all that said above, I am not going to say one way or another in regards to if GW is guilty or not until I have at least seen how he reacts/responds, his demeanor, etc. when being cross examined by the State, which I am hoping is done by Andrew!

So, in the meantime, I will continue to think things over some more, wait for the prosecution's cross examine and my opinion is still subject to change.

This is all JMO, my thoughts/ideas, etc. Thanks for hearing me out.
Why would AW and JW lie, while under oath, that GWIV was involved knowing it could negate their plea deal?

I'm done! About six hours and 16 minutes in, they called a recess. Sitting that long is tiring for me and I'm in a very comfy spot and can pause, for awhile. When they called that recess it sounded like a herd of elephants running for the doors (I have on headphones so that might be part of it).

Some folks don't realize that about STDs, and re-infections are common, but, then again, she did marry not long after they divorced. I just think that this is to allow us to do what we've hoped, for GW4 to tell about GW4, and for him not opt out. So far, everyone else has talked about G4, except G4.
George didn't say whether he was treated, otherwise, they're just passing it back and forth to one another.

Jmo how would their lying negate the plea deal? The state wants and needs Jake to state George was there. What they going to say no Jake you are lying. Jmo

Jmo I believe Angela was there and was able to be there because George was asleep in the house with the kids.

Jmo I can not put any faith in Jake and Angela. I can not hold them up to something they are not. I find odd people are so willing to believe confessed killers. Jmo

All just my take on GWIV's testimony...He's about as immature as a grown man can be. He wants to make it seem like he's so different than his family but his actions and non-actions all say different. He could have left his situation with his family many times, he didn't. He knew his actions of stealing were wrong, he still did them into adulthood. His recalling of those things were matter of fact and without ANY shame. His demeanor, lack of shame and micro-expressions while telling his story of George were very helpful in gaining a good handle on this man.

I believe he knew what was being planned for the Rhodens, there's no way I will be convinced he didn't know. He went along with it and helped. His string of "No"s, I didn't do this and that were not convincing at all...NOT AT ALL. I'm looking forward to his cross examination.

I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion but it's mine & I'll own it:

If I didn't know some of the things I think I know - things the jurors haven't been privy to...I think George's testimony was fairly convincing in a reasonable doubt kind of way. As of this moment, I think he did the right thing, taking the stand.

I might not think that way after his cross but if I was a juror, I probably wouldn't get much sleep tonight, I would be turning it all over & over in my mind all night. I'm NOT a juror and that's what I'll be doing.

I can understand your way of thinking. I've barely slept last night. Let's wait for the cross and see how it turns out.

Something that really surprised me is BCI asking George to spy on Jake and George agreeing to do that. It crosses my mind that George knew the truck was bugged so he started those screaming matches with Jake thinking if he got him angry enough Jake would let something slip BCI could nail him on.

JMO
Is this the first time we are hearing about the spying? I would guess if he were actually asked to spy there would be some kind of documentation or they could get the BCI to testify whether or not they had this arrangement.

The defense has a BCI agent on their witness list.

BCI asked George if he wanted to be a witness or a suspect. (Is this a fact? Looking back through everything to see when we first hear this stated…) To me, that sounds like asking him to spy.

ETA: it’s from defense opening statement, about 20 minutes in

Don't worry, they are throwing them all at me right now.

I have believed all along that Angie was there. There is no way she was not.

I too would like to see those custody documents but apparently no one has posted any photos of them on twitter as evidence. It was testified that Angie and Rita were brought in for handwriting samples for analysis but why wasn't George? Why didn't they try to determine if that was really his signature on the document.

One thing that makes me think it might not be, is his statement that Angie tried to get him to sign over custody of BW to her and he outright refused.

That she kept up the payments on his life insurance and hounded him to sign custody of BW over to her makes me think more than ever that Angie marked George for death in another of her "accidents" that she could get a good insurance payout on and keep his child.

It would be interesting to see if those dates written on the three documents were all written in the same handwriting. And if BCI did anything to determine if it was really George's signature.

JMO
That is a great point Raisin. What if AW planned for her own son GW to die so she could collect more insurance, I honestly would not put it past her.

I have been wondering if by him taking the stand, it could or would open AC up to playing the tape of his interview. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Before we get into the trial coverage today I have to say with all our sleuthing and piecing together pieces of the puzzle, there was much that we did not have any idea or suspicion of regarding the Wagners and their criminal activities.
The huge amounts of money $$$ that passed thru their hands ( thru crime) truly shocked me.

Maybe defense will play it.
