Bizarre description of some game he claims Billy used to make them play watching for surveillance cameras on people's homes, businesses, etc. Also spotting police officers. Not sure I believe Billy forced them to do that. It was all part of being in a crime family, which is no excuse for murdering 8 innocent people.

Maybe that's how they found that camera on the property on union hill road that was mysteriously missing.

Boy they practiced these questions! Excuse for everything! He is so full of crap about saying he was going after the BCI agent! Not everyone has said they would kill someone! He has major issues just like the rest of them.

Angela Canepa on cross: Asking about Frankie being "best friend" - says never met Hannah Hazel Gilley or their baby boy. But denies blocking Frankie on Facebook. Frankie 4 years younger than him. Says friends were lying about Frankie not drinking.

Canepa brings up Chelsea - former girlfriend of Frankie. He had talked to her but says they were only friends. Denies it created a grudge between the two. Also knew Frankie was a fighter.

Says Kenneth Rhoden was twice as strong as he was. Now onto the crimes he committed with his family when he was younger.

Back to when his father would give them $1 each time they spotted the police, or take away their trail cams for a week if they missed a surveillance camera.

Winter Olympics again - poaching deer by shooting at night. Night scope was used for that. Never used for killings. Bought fall 2015?

It cost $641 - paid in cash with Jake's reward card.

Says he thinks the cattle truck was burned accidentally - if it was on purpose by his father, it would have been burned much more thoroughly. Still collected on insurance. Says his pickup was intentionally wrecked by Jake and Chris Newcomb.

Says it wasn't wrecked because it needed repairs - but only because he and Chris needs money. Says he didn't say he gave up crime, just stealing trailers and fuel.

Says he remembers some of what he says at the Montana border. He is asked about what he said denying his brother was the favorite then. Says he meant something else, and that Jake was indeed his mom's favorite.

Speaking of Jake "the older he got, the worse he got ... out of 100 days I might have gotten 10 good days with him"

George says he didn't want his new girlfriend Josie from Alaska "in the house with my mother." But asked about when he tells his mother they should live together out west. He says he wanted them all to have own place on big property.

Canepa asks George to describe mother: "She thinks she’s better than everyone … could put selfish in that, manipulative." But at border he says his mom is not controlling "not true"

George says he doesn't remember much of what he said at the border. Says it's true that he and Jake run the house, which is what he said at the border.

Well now on cross he doesn't have a rehearsed answer and he isn't recalling a lot and he's having to explain what he meant and what he means.

tense exchange over the forged documents - says he didn't look at the dates at the time - trusted his mother 75-80 percent of the time. But he would have left his son to her "becasue who else would I leave him to?"

Says he signed the documents the day they were printed off. Doesn't remember telling his grandmother Rita that Hanna had stopped by to sign a document, and doesn't remember his mother reminding Rita in phone call that George had said that. He asks for a transcript

Says he didn't ever talk to his grandmother about custody document. But did talk to his mother about it. Worry about anything about law enforcement - how he was raised.

George says he didn't look at document just signed it and walked out.

Admits to using fake address to get his Ohio CDL license. Also asked about not letting Tabby know he was back in Ohio - before one year term up to get abandonment ruling against ex-wife.

Shown the dissolution agreement prepared two weeks after she left. But Tabby "continued to mess around with her best friend's dad."

Canepa really hammering him on stopping Tabby from visiting their son. Said he didn't want her mother around because she contributed to Tabby's abuse. And that he didn't trust her sisters. George says she cancelled as much as he did.

Says the sisters were doing the same thing - says abuse was ok and marrying men 30-40 years older than them. Asked for someone he didn't trust, he knew a lot about them. Says he spent a lot of time with them before his son was born. Now on 15 minute break.

Seems CN may have perjured himself about the truck wreck; CN was asked if he participated in it and he replied "not on my part." When in fact CN and George agreed to split any monies they received from it.
Don't have link handy, so JMO.

Seems George wants to run the show; his way.

Is this a longer 15 minutes break? James hasn't posted anything in 1/2 hour...

Has Prosecution rested yet? I thought they have not officially…
MOO

I saw a tweet back quite aways - that said they rested their case on 11/10/22, but have actually not "formally" rested, I guess you could say.

Heck of a time to catch covid. Just catching up and thank you to everyone for all of the info! Watching AC today. I have much respect and admiration for her skills but today I'd like to see Clark Kent get a shot at George.

it is so frustrating following this case. like you just want to grab the tv and shake canepa thru it. cant even stand to watch sometimes and prefer to read the tweets. bci did a phenomenal job on this ccase in fact i think it may be one of the best murder investigations ive ever read about. tasked with nearly 0 physical evidence and a family of professional killers and criminals with very little possibility of turning an informant. imagine how it felt once they KNEW the wagners murdered this family in cold blood but had to follow all the procedural stuff that comes with our "justice" system. and amazingly thru sheer determination they get these indictments. then they get jake to turn. they get the murder weapons, murder truck, and a codefendant to describe the murder conspiracy before after and during. so weve gone from no dna, no murder weapons, no vehicles, no informants, a media blackballing the victims and thru all that now the prosecution is handed a stacked deck.

when jake pled guilty i thought that was it- the wagners were donezo. and then they give angela this deal which is just unexplainable to me from a strategy standpoint. if i was a juror, her deal and testimony hurt the prosecutions case. simultaneously they want the jury to give g4 the death penalty for a supporting role(which he deserves) but then the architect of the entire sick family is let off with 30 years! how can the prosecution expect the jury to accept these 2 situations??? angelas deal is when i lost all confidence in canepa and the ag office in general. just the fact g4 felt confident enough to go on the stand shows you how little canepa intimidates g4 and his defense lawyers. she is not a litigator. she does not belong in the first chair for a murder trial. shes no an orator. very smart driven dedicated yes of course. i know the family wanted her and i know canepa wants justice for this case and has been a big part of the indictments etc.
but she is a terrible courtroom lawyer. doesnt think on her feet, impeach the witness with style, all the ums etc would be ok if her point was valid or sharp. but its not. theres no flow she throws temper tantrums and her physical appearance is unprofessional. she should be the 2 chair taking notes and helping wilson do the examinations. i really hope g4 gets convicted with lwop ill be holding my breath.

Starting new thread for George Wagner IV on stand in own defense in Pike Co massacre trial. On a 15 minute break. Prosecution on cross examination.

Canepa now going through gun purchases and the fact he put incorrect addresses and info on his gun receipts. Says it's a federal offense with up to 10 years in prison.

Now onto the arson of the last house on Bethel Hill Road - happened 6-7 months after his grandmother said she was selling the land. Counters Jake's testimony that George was inside the house - he says he was outside working on his truck.

Says he didn't really profit - even though money was used to buy Peterson Road farm. Says it was put in his and brother's name to skip inheritance taxes.

"We paid off all our debts" - Canepa stresses that it was all family pooling resources.

Going through all the fake receipts his mother created after the fire to claim losses (even though they still had the items) - asked "did you ever tell on her for doing those things?" No.

Now getting to night of murders: Asked about saying going to bed at 10ish. Confronted with border interview - said he went to bed at 12:30 after watching movie with entire family and mom made cheeseburgers.

George seems to have selective memory recall and has practiced his acting skills. I hope she fires up some of that hidden anger.

Well, look at the case itself. Eight dead in four locations. The largest investigation in Ohio history…
And 4 defendants!
