I have only ever seen those specific, b-bug charges lumped in with other charges. No complete itemization list ever but I have not read every news article, for sure. Here is an example of some of the charges incurred... along with some other interesting information, as well, imo

Ok, that looks ok. WCPO is a valid news media outlet and the article mentions bedbug treatment. Thanks for providing that link. Could you possibly post it again in our Media & Timelines forum? TIA.

Jody Barr provided the invoice in one of his investigative reports. However, that was two years ago and since he has left the media outlet he was with. I’ve went back through his video reports but have yet to find the invoice that was provided back then. It is somewhere though, I just don’t know where. Things disappear in this case unfortunately :(

Thanks! I was originally suspicious because the only reference I had seen was in a link in a PM here to a photo of an invoice on an anonymous social media page. The link above mentions it in a WCPO article, so it seems legit. JMO, irrelevant, but legit.

JMO, people who want to blame the victims for their own deaths are going to post a lot of negative information about the family as prosecutors prepare to put the killers on trial. It would serve their efforts to win acquittal for the W's if they can post as much negative information as possible about the Rhoden/Gilley family in social media. There's not much to do about that other than keeping the focus on the criminals and evidence.

The part that the Attorney General office stated it was imperative to preserve the integrity of those scenes is what stood out to me in that article. Jody Barr had also documented how the Homes were left unsupervised in the past Jmo

I agree with all of the above. Justice will be served for Chris, Dana, Frankie, Hanna May, Chris Jr, Hannah Hazel, Kenny, and Gary.

Just some insight, my father’s death was originally a suspected murder w/suspicious circumstances. He didn’t always make the right decisions ( NONE of us do) but I can tell anyone, myself being someone who’s stood in the shoes of a family member dying suddenly along with a possibility of murder, there is no greater fearful pain that exists. When something like this happens to someone you love, all of the nonsense and mistakes a victim has made means absolutely nothing and only causes more hurt for the surviving family when a victim’s life choices are repeatedly interjected into discussions. A life is a life. This family is loved. They were human beings. Choices they made can’t be undone, however they were robbed of the chance to even tell their side of any of all of this. JMHO.

May everyone have a blessed new year.

It is also important on this site to correct false information, whether it makes the victims look good or not. This is a site of facts, not of emotions or twisting the truth to fit a false narrative. There are plenty of other sites for that if one wishes to go that route. The facts are what they are. There are now no verified members of the Rhoden or Gilley families on here posting that I have seen.

Sheriff Reader realized very quickly these murders and subsequent investigation was far more than his budget or his staff could handle.

After securing the crime scene and witnesses, he was on the phone calling for help. BCI and AG DEWine quickly responded and had crime scene investigators on scene in the time it took them to drive to UHR. the three agencies worked hand in hand for over 900 days coordinating the largest most complexinvestigation in the history of the State of Ohio. Tens of thousands of manhours were devoted to the murder investigation following each lead big or small to the end.

Analysts dissected and tested over 100 pieces of evidence. The autopsies were completed by Hamilton County Medical Examiner Loomis. Neighboring jurisdictions sent Ifficers in to help the Sheriff maintain public Safety while his staff was assisting with keeping the crime scene secure and especially keeping the local, national and international media out. Officers and Ohio DOT closed roads surrounding the 4 crime scenes. DOT provided the signage and Officers maintained the security around the area. Media had tried repeatedly to enter the Rhoden property for a chance to photograph a mangled body or a Rhoden being loaded into a hearse.

Each piece of evidence involved a chain of custody log from the time it was collected until the time it arrived at the proper facility for analysis.

Ohio’s LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONSE PLAN (aka LERP) was most likely requested to be put in place by Sheriff Reader during his communication to the Attorney General. mike DEWine would have cancelled his day and traveled to UHR and arrived within a few hours.

When he arrived the AG was shocked at the scope of the crime. Although he did not enter the trailers containing the bloody mutiliated bodies and the blood stained cheap paneling, he peered inside the doors.

The copper odor is the first thing DeWine would recall and the coagulated blood stoppedmidway down the walls. How could anyone lose that much blood after being shot and move 20 feet to a back bedroom?

Turned out it didn’t happen that way. Bodies had been moved. The blood from the couch in the living room was from fists and could have been the baseball bat or old lead pipes CRSR hid behind different doors for protection.

In the second trailer there was less to see but the hint of fresh decomp was in the air. Attorney General Mike DEWine was determined to see all 3 crime scenes, but by the time Sheriff Reader pulled into the 3rd and final scene, a call came in from dispatch. A request from a guy named Stone for help on LEft Fork Road. Another body had been found.

That night I would guess the Sheriff met with BCI and the AG to modify LERP, the plan each agency was required to have in place. The plan was tweaked and after no sleep to speak of, the biggest investigation ever done by LE in the State of Ohio had begun.

..............

That’s the things that I know would have andmost likely occurred that first few hours.

All my opinion.

A bit of what I understand to be at murder scenes with bodies and blood.

Let me just say this about that....his placemat will be a freshly printed indictment!

Rather than pre dinner cocktail hour, I think we’ll do “motion hour”.
Good, then, put him on here during after-dinner-drinks hour.:D

I completely agree with you about a false narrative. AFAIK, the AG, Reader, and Junk have stated that George Washington Wagner III, Angela Jo (Carter) Wagner, Edward Jacob “Jake” Wagner, and George Washington Wagner IV, are all charged with murdering the eight members of the Rhoden and Gilley family. Dewine stated in his presser that custody of a minor child is the epicenter of this case. Dewine, Reader, and/or any other official have never stated all of the homes were infested with bedbugs. In fact, officials have never even discussed that. Since the arrests, I’ve yet to see officials say that any of the derogatory narrative about the victims factors into these murders in any way shape or form.

Here’s what we know about the accused killers though:

According to DeWine’s office, the indictments “were filed less than a week after authorities confirmed the existence of a homemade firearm suppressor believed to have been built by the suspects.” The indictments allege that “the suspects purchased ammunition, a magazine clip, brass catcher(s), and a bug detector in preparation for the crimes.”

Ohio AG: 'Today is the Day' — Arrests made in connection with Rhoden murders

“They also allegedly obtained and shared information about the physical layouts of the victims’ properties, their habits and routines, sleeping locations, and countersurveillance devices present on their properties, including pets.”

“All four suspects are accused of forging custody documents,” DeWine’s office stated.

“After an extensive, thorough joint investigation by the Attorney General’s Office, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, as well as our Special Prosecution section and Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader’s office, these four individuals are now in custody for allegedly committing this heartless, ruthless cold-blooded murder.”

The faces of the eight victims were then projected onto a screen for a full conference room of media and others to view.

Many of them were killed as they slept,” said DeWine, then naming the Rhoden and Gilley victims. “All eight victims were killed in cold blood. They were shot in their homes and were brutally and viciously executed.”

In other words, bed bugs did not kill this family. JMHO. Moo cow moo.

But, I noticed a charge for a camera on that very same list of purchased items. Is it possible an atmosphere of "carelessness" was created on purpose? (The trailers being the bait?) Depending on where that camera was used; it is possible it could film / record some interesting activities or was meant to... JMO.

From the article: " ... and a camera system totaled another $21,800."

I am pretty sure that the R's were not killed by gun toting bedbugs.

IMO they were not killed because they had bedbugs either.

I am not sure what relevance bedbugs have to this crime. Unless there is some way they can do forensics on bedbugs that would indicate that bedbugs that may have been found at the W's house were born and bred at the R's residence. I know that forensics can determine a particular area where some insects are common. But for right now the significance of bedbugs in the residence escapes me.

That is an interesting angle, Pepper. I’d never considered that but I do believe you have a very valid point. Do you think the W’s had the nerve to tamper with the crime scenes after they were placed in storage? These trials and the facts that emerge is going to be captivating.

I seen where cameras were going to be used at the impound lot, but according to Jody Barr’s report he found the previous storage of the trailers unattended many times. And if to create an atmosphere of carelessness why spend thousands of dollars to move all four. Jmo

JMO, but it’s deeply disturbing that as the Rhodens and HHG prepared for bed and to wake up to a new day, the Wagners were not but 15 minutes away preparing to kill all of the victims. The premeditation in these crimes appears to be layers and layers deep, based on the statement of investigative officials.

I think I shall order this book so I can make my mind understand some of the “whys” because right now I just cannot wrap my head around it.

The Allure of Premeditated Murder: Why Some People Plan to Kill

Here’s a couple interesting psychological takes on why people murder.

One thing that stands out to me is the Wagners didn’t appear to do this in a fit of rage. They didnt use weapons of opportunity, but instead prepared for months and months. The psychological aspect behind these accused murderers is very intriguing, IMO.

Thanks for posting the link in the M&T thread! That's a big help. I agree with your theory that the cameras may have been there to get video to identify any intruders. Could have been a trap.
