My first impresession, after seeing it on the news but not reading anything here, was that either a relative or someone outside the family who really hated the family had done it and it was some kind of “hillbilly justice.” After reading here and seeing all the drug theories that seemed to be the most popular at the time, but also seeing information about the Wagners, I decided they were responsible, and I ruled out surviving Rhoden family members. I kept reading for awhile, but since I didn’t buy into the cartel theories that seemed prevalent, I got bored and left, certain the Wagners would eventually be arrested. As it turned out, my first impression of hillbilly justice was correct. The Wagners, I think, certainly saw this as some kind of justice.

Anyone else think the Ws were posting on social media, like Websleuths and others, commenting on news articles, floating any theory that didn't involve them, casting aspersions on the victims, and steering the consensus?

I know that AW was, on at least one, of the FB sites. She came on as herself.

I wondered if they came here before. They engaged in conversations in other SM, why not here.

I've been reading earlier threads. Anyone remember what happened with 1othefew in early 2017?

I missed that, and only checked FB early on. Not being a member, it's aggravating trying to read there (by design). I recall people talking about her FB posts. But there were a lot of other postings other places that made me wonder, also a lot of followups that looked like sockpuppets supporting false narratives.

What I recall.... The poster was close to being a "confirmed insider" and it was decided by staff that for safety's sake, it would be better not to.

Of course. That’s a given

Yep. I think they tried to badger people off who came close to blaming them and throw suspicion on innocents like bjm. It wouldn't surprise me if they tried to get the identities of posters who were on to them.

They wan him in street clothes and unrestrained so he does not look like a criminal in court. He looks like everyone else. How many privileges do they think they are entitled to?
Maybe if they bolt his foot to the floor they could take off hand restraints. I do not think he should have fere movement after the threats.

Unless someone was logging into her FB account, I'm pretty sure it was her (I have an account and am a member of a couple three forums). The convos were all still on there last I checked the FB boards.

I was a bit peeved, as I had addt'l questions. Others did not want her there, and she left.

Yup, same here. That's where I went right off the bat, but I didn't go to the Wagners at all. I didn't know enough about all the players to come to that conclusion but I did think it was personal and done by people who knew them.

I remember them. I was thinking maybe the mods shut them down.

However it gives an example of how conversations could have been over heard. We don't know if the Alexa device was used/owned by any of the accused or not. It has been stated LE is aware of conversations between those accused, many of us are here to discuss the case and possibilities.
Didn't they search somebody's mom's house after the return from Alaska? I can't find this anywhere but I swear I read it. If so they bugged it then perhaps.

Vmmking and Julia966, that was my theory too. It had to be someone who knew and absolutely hated the Rhoden family. Now that we know who is charged though, I can’t fathom why Gary R and Chris Jr were killed, other than they happened to live in the homes. And would be potential witnesses. There’s no way either one would have been given custody of SW. MOO.

AW & JW really was very smart on this part, they knew a day like this might come so they went to social media to put reasonably doubt in the public eyes and ears, long before and after the murders was committed, that is what they want by not letting certain evidence be shown at trial, like crime scene photos, a hung jury!

I have to go along with DeWine at this point. Bizzare, just bizzare. And I will always think leaving those babies ALONE for 5+ hours is child neglect/endangerment.

Brently could have wandered off or burned down the house or got injured in some way. And
you don't leave an infant in an adult bed unattended.

They couldn't even be bothered putting them in their cribs, yet they "bothered" themselves to move Chris/Gary. (One or both were moved.)

.....My 2 Cents.....

Ruger (the 6 mo old baby) could have fallen off the bed and injured himself. Not to mention he and HMR's baby could have been hit by the bullets shot into their parents just a few inches away. Yeah, I still can't find a good reason to not include child endangering charges, at minimum.

Would they have only bugged the one room, or did the bug only capture talk of revenge? Was there no talk about "the act(s)" committed? If so, why did they leave that out of the indictments? That would be very damning.

Why bug FW's home? The 4Ws weren't living there.

They had pieces parts of a silencer, that they'd found much earlier, from the former searches, but DeWine said the investigator's discovery of a homemade gun silencer in late October was a critical piece of evidence (@5:58) (but we have no searches of any properties, in the timelines, for the date it was discovered). If it's a human CI, they could have given up the silencer as a show of good faith (especially if they have a history, as many CIs do).

Folks have thought that the two families may have been into the drug business with one another. A CI that was trusted by the Ws, but was facing a sentence, would be a likely candidate for a CI, who could wear a wire (or place a bug).

Just some afternoon thoughts.

If LE did bug FW's home, JMO they would have done so the first time they raided FWF, when the W4 were preparing to leave for AK. They may have known that, with the sale of the Peterson Rd. farm, the W4 would meet up at FWF when they came back to town. Possibly, the W4 were also staying briefly at FWF before leaving for AK.

I'm also 50% on board with the work being done by a CI, as you say, someone who wans already in trouble and needed to do a favor for LE. Guess that covers all the possibilities. ;) Either way, we'll find out eventually.

I've seen custody issues get pretty bitter. Beyond belief if you haven't been close maybe, but mix parental jealousies in with resudual sexual tensions, then add a dollop or two of controlling elders into the mix, maybe a nugget or two of supportive sibling and a few doses of testosterone...Bam! Explosive!
It was getting pretty hard for me to brush aside their involvement with the laser focus, suspicious move, hair dye, along with the custody motive fueling the theory.
I whooped aloud the day they were arrested! Justice is coming!

So true. I remember a comment Reader made very early to the effect whoever did it didn't care too much about keeping the babies safe. Anyone know where that's at?
