Yes, because Los Angeles is overrun with fake Irish accents. LOL
I hope everyone realizes the "father character" is played by Billy Connelly, a stand-up comedian from Scotland! (He isn't even Irish...go figure.) The Wag-men must be more delusional than I originally thought. Re-enacting a crime movie with Billy Connelly is the equivalent of believing SNL and Sharknado are real news events. Why do I get the feeling we have just hit the intersection of Weird St. and "You ain't seen nothin' yet. Avenue?"

This just gets more and more unbelievable...believable? Not sure which any more. More unbelievable yet more convincing I guess. The Maglite was a stunning thought. Wonder what the happy dance looked like when that connection was made by investigators. But this movie thing...(Thanks Raisin for watching and reporting, your thoughts are very weighty with me.)

Once again, I owe a huge apology to all the LE and investigators I ever though ill of for dragging their feet.

Jmo but the maglite has to have some dna, or fibers, or signs it was used as a silencer otherwise it is just a light that someone looking into a well dropped. Jmo

Thank you for taking one for the team! :) It sounds awful.
You are welcome. It was awful. Not something I would recommend to to anyone.

When I watched that movie so many things clicked for me. The shooting victims in the eye (we were all puzzled by that), why the AG fought so hard to keep the autopsies from being released (was it because all the victims were shot in the eye and it would give away too much and alert the killers that LE was onto them?) the money strewn about (another puzzle), the motive. The R's dealt drugs. The brothers went after "bad" people who sold drugs and were organized crime. (I wonder if the W's viewed the R's like a family mafia?). I am convinced that Jake used the Clarence R issue to sell his family on the idea of killing them all. To allow the religious Fred to justify the murders. As I said before the "wiping out a den of snakes" mentality. The religious slant makes me think Fred's church preached vigilante justice.

IMO the W's viewed the killings as rescuing SW from abuse and the "bad" influence of the R's. That the attorney said Fred "lived as close to the cross as anyone could get" tells me that Fred is coaching her attorney on what to say. She wants the world to know she is justified in what she has done. As I said, I am 100% certain Fred was in it from the beginning. I think Jake went to her with his story about SW being abused and used the Clarence R incident as an example (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree scenario ) and got Fred on board. After that the rest of them followed her lead with a heavy dose of "God's will" included.

I think the writer may have Irish roots... idk. It's fiction mixed with real life, trying to look like Pulp Fiction ( It failed, but it's similar to other movies of that period). It clicked for me when I saw the Saints vid clip in the list.

Final speech given by The Boondock Saints in the courtroom. "Now you will receive us...! We do not ask for your poor or your hungry. We do not want your tired and sick. It is your Corrupt we claim...! It is your evil that will be sought by us. With every breath we shall hunt them down.... it goes on from there, but folks get the picture.

My guess is that it was made into a silencer and LE used the numbers on it to trace where it was sold.

Good chance the baffle discs, if still intact, share ballistic marks with bullets recovered.

Fingerprints, possibly. If it wasn't disassembled, could be prints on the discs left during assembly.

I don't know if this will be big enough to see well (BBL is in the lrh corner) but here is a map showing Peterson, Hillcrest (where DR worked), and on to FWF. I did it just to get a feel of how far/close everybody was/is. I think, the accused may have started at Peterson, ended at Bethel, or FWF, then went home to Peterson.

The ATF analyzed it and their report was submitted as evidence, so they must have found something linking it to use as a silencer and to the W's.

On my PC, I opened the image in a new tab, hold Ctrl and scroll mouse wheel forward to zoom in. Quite viewable.

Thanks for the tip Col! I mostly use a laptop so I never know how it will "look" for folks w/tablets, or using phones, and such. I always imagine a postage stamp w/squiggles on it.

Agree, the judge has to avoid a mistrial, though once things are underway we can expect the defense attorneys to move for mistrial or dismissal pretty much every day. That's what they do.

The riskiest time for inmate escapes is when they're being moved, as to and from the court. Escapes are not uncommon, nor are courtroom disruptions.

Perfect examples. TY
Here's one that happened in Pike County just last month. Not as dangerous as the W's but it happened

My thoughts are, why have a hidden restraint if it is public knowledge that you have it? JMO

Public perception. If you don't see it, he looks more normal, and the jurors probably forget he has them on, under his street clothing.

Just like an attorney’s suit, a defendant’s choice of court clothes matters. It has been shown timeand time again that what a defendant wears to court can effect whether they are found guilty. In 2016, Elle tracked how female defendants’s courtroom clothing strategy has changed over time, from ultra-frilly to barely feminine. Criminal defendants are technically innocent until proven guilty, but that doesn’t mean that a jury will think a defendant who shows up to court in an orange jail jumpsuit or dirty T-shirt is innocent. In fact, some courts have found that forcing a defendant to wear a jail uniform in court inherently prejudices the jury against them. Last year, New York City banned the Department of Corrections from sending detained defendants to court in their jail-issued uniforms because of the potential negative effects of the jumpsuits on a jury’s neutrality.

The judge makes sure the courtroom procedures are followed. If JW's lawyer does not do everything in his power to properly represent him, according to the laws that are available, then the lawyer can be disbarred, and a mistrial called. It's not about being cordial to JW, it's about not having any problems when the jury determines their verdict.

The brothers are not Irish Catholic. I think they got their inspiration from a mix of movies, love of hunting, and possibly even video games.

Sorry, I wasn't referring to the W brothers, but rather to the brothers in the movie. JMO

The boys in the movie are supposed to be Irish, but your mention of FW dressing as a nun, (I don't see it but that's just me), threw me off. jmo.

I watched it last night. It was absolutely the 2 most boring hours of my life. Hubby stayed with me until about ten minutes in when the brothers sat up in bed in the jail cell. He gave a sigh of disgust and told me he was going to bed to have nightmares, thank you very much. I wish I had joined him because I actually did have nightmares about the movie.

But after watching the movie I am 100% certain the W's killed the R's. I am also 100% certain that Fred and her religious stance was involved from the beginning and maybe Rita also. I know why they did it but I am having a hard time putting it into words. Nothing convinced me of their guilt more than that movie. I wonder if that is when LE became convinced in their guilt also?

I also think that is why Jake gives that snarly smirk in court in front of the cameras. He feels so justified in the killings and is very satisfied in a job well done. He is convinced that when the jury sees why the W's killed the R's they and the rest of the world will praise him for what he and his family did.

Again, I am absolutely certain Jake manipulated his entire family into killing the R's because of his hatred for Hanna dumping him. He is the reason for it all and out of all of them he is the one who deserves the DP the most.

JMO

Thanks for sharing. One thing is bugging me. It's a fairly old movie. Is it of JWs generation?

What do you guys think? Is it a "cult" movie popular among young people you know? JWs age, G4's age, G3's age? Is it something we watch in family with mom Angela or more with John Doe?
