I agree with both points of your statement. A lot of stuff is surfacing but I still don't feel everything is clear.

I do believe LE must have a good case, and actions of the W's seem off. BPV, the Excursion, custody docs, hair dye, etc.

I still remain unclear on the Jake/HR relationship in the days and weeks before.

I do anticipate the big question to be why wasn't the silencer found during the first search.

To answer your question of why the long wait. It is for that very reason of how DeWine would look if he arrested someone on flimsy evidence in the biggest murder case of his career. He patiently waited 2 1/2 years beating off questions from the press until he had a 100% concrete case. A slick politician like him would not do anything less.

If you look you can clearly see what the R's murder case meant to DeWine. He jumped in his (car, plane, train?) and rushed on down to Pike county to personally oversee everything in connection with the investigation. I think he made it there a couple of hours after the first call to the BCI. He took over all aspects of the investigation. He gave all the interviews to media with Reader standing like a frozen statue behind him. He called all the shots about what was released to the media. He fought for nearly 2 years all the way through Supreme Court to keep the autopsies out of the hands of the media. And like the great politician he is he even brought his lovely wife in by giving us that tidbit of Franny's opinion about the ....(unmentionable in consideration of a certain poster on here lol). Then in the end it was DeWine front and center, taking time out of his very busy pre governor's mansion schedule so no one else could steal his thunder for solving the case, to announce the arrests of the W's.

If you think about it, there was no way DeWine was going to rush to an arrest on a case that meant that much to him. He is just too good of a politician for that.

Yes, but the W's had sold their property and moved to AK. They had given property away or taken it with them. It was very difficult for LE to question or observe them. And yeah, the year long delay gave them a lot of time to get rid of evidence. Still SMH that LE didn't focus on W's sooner. JW was the last person to see HMR alive, in a custody battle, and was changing his story and lying about the timeline.

Betty P, you always have awesome posts. Just a comment or two: I really believe Reader knew who did it very early on. How he knew, I don't know. He has lived there his entire life and has to have a good working knowledge of what goes on in his county, and I believe those crime scenes spoke loud and clear to him as to who would be capable of such things. Also, we have to remember how hard it was to keep all they knew or suspected, under tabs. I commend all who worked on this case and the confidentiality maintained constantly.

I feel sure, at the time, nothing could be done to stop JW from taking SW anywhere. Judge R had assigned him full custody. It's a great benefit to be kin to the judge. MOO

So, the theory we're now discussing is that the red sporty car with white stripes was Gary's, but it was out of commission because he had an accident and dented up the front, thus was driving the blue car seen at KR's? It's an interesting theory. JMO

I also found a news video where the reporter says Leonard Manley told them that Jake Wagner and his father tried to get HMR to sign over her custody rights just before the murders. IIRC, we had been looking for that. This was at the time LE was searching the Wagner farm on Peterson Rd.

Jake Wagner and his brother recently sold a farm they owned on Peterson Road in Adams County. Wagner and Hanna Rhoden had a daughter named Sophie. Two to three weeks before the murders, Jake and his father tried to get Hanna to sign away her parental rights to Sophie, according to Leonard Manley, Hanna's grandfather.

Ok, I'm trying to figure out the timeline for JW picking up Sophia. If he didn't pick her up before HMR delivered her new baby, did he not bring her to the hospital to visit HMR? Who brought her up to the hospital? Who was caring for her when HMR was in the hospital?

Good catch Seattle. It is in the 2nd picture in this article. It appears to be a ring over the tattoo band. The obit says boyfriend. Currently thinking "as if things were not confusing enough".

OT Interesting there is a fee to suspects for the electronic monitoring. I have a friend whose husband sells those and other LE equipment. They live in a very big mansion and own another one down in Florida. Lots of money in those electronic tether gadgets.

In my area, I've heard of house arrestees paying $250-300/month, they have to keep a landline phone, are subject to visits, home searches, and drug testing, any time of the day or night.

Oh, I see what you're saying. That could explain why Gary was killed later than Chris. He was dropping his car off at Kenny's to have him take a look at it the next day. Was the blue car a sedan? SUV? sporty car? Light blue, medium or dark?

BTW, you're fine. We can search to find the car pictures. Just add JMO to the end of your comment (just my opinion) to indicate it's your theory of what could have happened that night. But, yeah, that's a good theory.

Medium blue 4dr sedan, around early-mid 90s. A Lumina was my guess. There was a pic of it sitting at KR's and a later pic on the rollback, if both were the same car. Definitely appeared the same color.

The former over-the-road truck driver and trained mechanic has maxed out his credit cards. He said he is paying his lawyer in what is left over after he pays his other bills every month. It hardly makes a dent.

HR had been dead for just 3 months. JW had an 'expected' legal bill, maxed out his credit cards and talks about paying the credit card bills. He didn't pay his lawyer with the credit cards tho.

It would be interesting to know how much his lawyer charged and the payments/dates that JW made.

Let's not kid ourselves, I don't think JW had any legal expense at all. After all, he already had forged custody documents...... If he did need any legal help, I'll bet he used FW's attorney that represented her over the years in her legal matters. He might have done this as a favor to FW and charged JW nothing at all.
I think the ***** site was just another W4 scam to get innocent people's money, and of course part of their social media campaign to "appear" sympathetic to the public.
