Ok, they're ready. IDK, bailiff or someone came out and said something to the video journalist. Guy looked like my uncle. I must have distant relatives down there.

George IV dressed up nice in plaid shirt and vest.

Set discovery deadline of June 1, 2019. Bill of particulars, still don't have it, but hope to get it. No need for court order. Satisfied with the time it's taking.

Demand for discovery re DNA - State doesn't think DNA evdience will be used against their client. Satisfied with statements. State had referenced 2 items of DNA in previous discovery. Court grants street clothing and no visible restraints, though done already.

Asking GW4 if he's seeing attorneys enough and is he happy with them. He says all is ok. His attorney doesn't like where he's being held now. Wants to go back to solitary. Relayed to Ross Co Sheriff. Has to do with construction.

May 23, schedule for another pretrial. Nothing more to add. Adjourn.

He wasn't all smiley like his mother was. He definitely looks like he is really mad that he is in this situation. Maybe he is the only one taking his possible future seriously.

I definitely heard GW4 attorney say GW4 wishes to go back to solitary to read his bible but the rest of the attorney's sentence was harder to ear. Attorney stated that GW4 is very pleased with the treatment he is receiving, isn't having any problems at the jail...he just would prefer to be back in solitary.
The
Lawyer said that GW4 wants to go back to solitary so he can read his bible and to do the things he likes to do, I think something up with that he might try to kill him self

From all I've seen so far, none of the Wagners appear remorseful about what they've done. They only focus on their own interests, not on those of the families of the victims.

Anyone else notice the comments about DNA? GW4s attorney said there was mention in discovery of (2?) DNA evidence items they would present at trial. He said they had a discussion with the prosecution who told them that GW4 would not be one of those who would have that evidence presented against him. Interesting that GW4 doesn't have any DNA evidence to implicate him and that his attorneys felt the need to mention that in open court. Are they trying to say that GW4 isn't as guilty as some other family members?

If there are 2 items of DNA evidence and one of them isn't GW4, who is/are the others? Jake and his dad? I've always suspected that someone was injured, most likely when struggling with CR1. I think he got to his gun before being killed and winged someone. JMO

His attorneys said the request had nothing to do with how he was being treated or his safety. George IV made the request through his attorney because he wants to be able to “read the Bible and do the things that he likes to do,” his attorney said.

Yeah. Well, we'd all like to do the things we want to do. I bet the Rhodens would too, if they hadn't been murdered.

What did the judge say? Does he get to go back to solitary? Maybe that's up to the jail.

I've always wondered if CRsr got some shots off and hit someone. It took so many shots to bring him down that it is very possible he managed to shoot someone...

If the DNA is applicable to 2 individuals, and Investigators felt strongly all 4 were involved, it could be a big reason it took so long for arrests. They needed enough evidence to build the case on all 4. Just a guess

Way back during mid sages of posting I read one that I cannot find but it talked about Billy was not around the first 2 weeks after the murders JMO but I wish I kept the post.

I was looking for something and came across this. I had thought I read it or heard it by DeWine at one point or another:

Former Attorney General Mike DeWine said, at the time of the arrests, that control and custody of a child Jake Wagner had with Hanna Rhoden was part of the motive in the murders. DeWine also said there was an “undercurrent” of drugs in the case and that the Wagners and Rhodens had been friends for years.

Of course that’s why it took so long

Anyone know if there are reporters covering this on Twitter?
Name. Or #

Annette Levy is a reporter from Local 12 Cincinnati and she posts brief video clips on her Twitter of the Wagner's arriving to their Waverly Ohio court hearings via the courthouse back door. From the defense side of the galley, she also posted a view of Angela walking into court, that's how I could tell Angela wasn't wearing ankle restraints this week.

Anyone seeing coverage for GW4's hearing yet? I'm watching WKRC, hopefully they will cover it. It's a lot of work on the part of the tv reporters. They have to drive a couple hours over to Piketon, then sit for an hour or so waiting for the hearing, which then lasts about 5 minutes.

It seems there's some big daytime basketball game going on that everyone is covering. IDK.

NCAA game up in Columbus today. They usually draw a big crowd. I missed the court hearings but it doesn't look as if I missed a whole lot.

I haven't seen his court hearing yet and am reading what Websleuths has to say about it.
I appreciate you and everyone else discussing it.

He has said that his son is his life and I believe being separated from his son is hurting him ---badly. And (if he's guilty) I think that his daddy, GW3, bent over backwards to keep reassuring the others that they would not be caught ---
that nothing, no evidence, ties them to the crime scenes.

Here's the thing though...the questionable things they did before and after the murders is what will greatly help to convict them. As I said before, amateurs only focus on not being connected to the actual crime scenes, they don't think about the before and after.

Did Angela really think shopping at a Walmart out of town would hide her purchases? Amateur.

George 4 on Facebook 6 months ago said this about his son: "he's my whole world I don't know what I would do without him"

If he's out with the other prisoners now, maybe he's catching some flak from them. Maybe he'd rather be in solitary than spend every day having people remind him of what a horrible crime he committed.

It's a different world. Even in county lock ups. If you can't make a friend or two, you can be alienated, bullied, any number of things. It's a world he's never known. He's a new fish in the tank, others who have been in there for awhile, or are on the frequent flyer program, can be intimidating. They know the ropes. It's a scary place in there, and, if convicted, he'll be going to a much scarier one (pen). He'll either adapt, and learn to survive, or he won't. Someone seeking to up their status may make a target out of him, or the other two males, b/c of the murdered females and CR2. For those who can't adapt, well, welcome, from the 6th, to the 9th, Layer of Hell. Imo, that would be a fate worse than death.

I know alot about the prison system and I can say that inmates in prison hate guys who kill women. Especially women nursing their babies. In fact, it's unheard of, women being killed while laying with and also nursing their infants. This despicable crime had 2 women killed with their infant and 6 month old in bed with them.

So there is no doubt in my mind that GW4 is getting "flack" for this from the other inmates in his Pod, and this is contributing to his desire for protected custody. Call it solitary but it is what it is ---
protected custody. Inmates do not ask for protected custody unless they are being harassed by other inmates.

.......Consider this My 2 Cents Only as I do not have links, thankx........

No, it was pretty brief again, but there was an interesting remark from GW4's attorneys about DNA evidence. It's at the end, just before they adjourn.

George Wagner returns to court for a hearing in the Rhoden family murders (WKRC) FRIDAY MARCH 22nd.......

PIKE COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - George Wagner, IV will return to a Pike County courtroom for a preliminary hearing Friday. His attorneys filed two new motions in the case.

Wagner, along with this brother Jake, and his parents, Billy and Angela, are all charged with murder seven members of the Rhoden family and Hannah Gilley.

The Rhodens were found shot to death in their homes on the morning of April 22, 2016 by a family member who went to the home each morning. The victims are Christopher Rhoden, Sr., his cousin, Gary Rhoden and Christopher’s ex-wife, Dana. Christopher and Dana’s children, Frankie, Christopher Jr. and Hanna were also shot to death along with Frankie’s fiancée, Hannah Gilley. Kenneth Rhoden was found shot once in his camper several miles away later in the day.

One motion dealt with possible DNA evidence, although the defense said in court that the prosecution told them they didn't plan to use it in George Wagner's case.

The second motion was granted Friday. It was a motion to allow Wagner to wear civilian clothing in court and to not be required to wear visible restraints. Wagner was already wearing civilian clothing. It wasn't clear if George was wearing a restraint vest in court like his mother Angela did on Wednesday. Deputies could use it to shock an inmate if they try to escape.

Wagner's attorney made a point to ask for one jail condition to be changed, even though he acknowledged that any changes would be up to the Ross County sheriff and not the court. He said George Wagner wanted to return to solitary confinement to make it easier to "read the Bible" and do what he likes to do. There was some discussion about construction at the jail.
