Sophisticated, preplanned, well thought out execution. Whomever they are that did this, they went out of their way to obscure evidence.

Eighteen pieces of evidence sent to the lab for DNA analysis.

They won't be giving too much information out to the media as to alert the bad guys of what they know.

Wouldn't a pot farm have security cameras?

  • #843
So the perps covered their tracks. They have no idea. Hmm.

"This was a pre-planned execution of 8 individuals. It was a sophisticated operation." Those who carried it out, did everything they could to try to hinder investigation. They believe it will be a lengthy investigation.

They will continue to provide information. But they will not be able to provide results. They goal is to "do everything they can to find these people or this person who has done this." They won't be telling everything they know.

My first thought was a turf war!

Or a rip-off.

Considering the $ value of the product, even legal grows have to exercise security against theft.

Grow operation is not surprising considering past arrests. Any media outlets reporting how big these grow operations are? Hard to believe this is about pot.

Did anyone else notice that DeWine keeps saying our goal is to catch "THESE PEOPLE" and "THE BAD GUYS."

So they think more than one person is responsible?

  • #848
18 pieces of evidence are at state crime lab. Being looked at by DNA people.

18 pieces doesn't seem like much, does it? For four crime scenes?

  • #849
At first I thought they had no idea but as the presser goes on, I think they know exactly who they are looking for and are trying to gather enough evidence to make sure they don't botch this investigation

They actually said they thought there was more than one shooter.

The pot farms may be incidental not necessarily the reason for family slaughter....also, Hanna R had a3 yr old as well as Hannah G.....where is that child? Apparently was not there when her mother was murdered. JMO

oh good, didn't miss it

Sheriff: sending thoughts and prayers to Rhoden family and the community

investigation is very large. probably largest we have ever been part of. Want patience and understanding. We are working around the clock. every lead, all the tips conducting interviews. we will provide info as we can. this will be lengthy process. STAR team going to the scenes and will go through the wooded areas of every scene to make sure nothing of evidentiary value was missed. If locate anything will secure and contact agents for collection.

Thanking all the agencies who have come together to help. 100s of people have come here to assist in this very lengthy and horrible investigation

AG: received over 100 tips, conducted 50to 60 interviews. 100s of personnel involved.

Crime scenes were done being worked early yesterday, but are still secured and maintained by Sheriff Dept. They are preserve in case we need to go take a second look or want to locate specific information.

Evidence collected is all at the crime lab and being analyzed.

This was a pre-planned execution of 8 individuals. Sophisticated operation. Those responsible did everything they could to hinder investigation and prosecution. We would anticipate this will be a lengthy investigation. This is not a case where someone got mad at someone else and shot them and there are one or two witnesses. THIS is a very complex case.

We will not be able to provide you with immediate results. That may frustrate you. We will not be telegraphing or telling the bad guys everything we know.

Old fashioned police work will be needed. Takes time. Asking for anyone with information about this to contact us.

[paraphrased as listening]

DeWine looks old, he should be ready for retirement by now.

  • #854
They may as well wrap up he's not going to comment on anything

  • #855
They aren't going to give out ANY information, basically. Doesn't look like we're going to know what the murder weapon(s) were or how many there are. That seems strange to me, I guess. I thought they usually released that kind of thing.

  • #856
We won't be getting too much information from LE in the media or otherwise it looks like.

Right? I graduated high school 30 years ago when he used to come to our class.

Wouldn't a pot farm have security cameras?

They should, but if this was a sophisticated operation against them, the camera systems could have been disabled and/or removed by the perps.
