I will be one agreeing to disagree.
I know in our area we would rather be in a family feud and argue forever..then disgrace the family name. Murdering your family ...would disgrace the whole family.

A logical, moral conclusion based on logical, moral thinking. Sometimes, though, minds don't work that way. Know that's obvious, but....

So, you do think it was one person. Hard to believe one person pulled this off (for reasons that have already been discussed). Regardless, we have no evidence whatsoever that someone in the family held this kind of grudge and, if he did, that he would go as far as murdering eight people, leave children motherless, and devastate the survivors. Why not just get rid of Chris, Sr., if he was the problem?

Again, we know very, very little about the interpersonal relationships within this family. For instance, look at our speculations here about the relationship between CR1 and DR....who, why, was staying, sleeping here or there. So it's not just grudges we don't know about, we truly do not know the status of any of the familial relationships surrounding the time of the killings.

Are you inferring that KR was killed in a separate event than the other 7? That the other 7 just so happened to be killed the same night by other people? I've thought of this murder 50 different ways and can't conceive that it was committed by only one person. I believe strongly that the entire well planned crime spree was committed by two people. I believe these were people who were not family but who're relatively close former friends/rivals/known associates. That's my best guess right now based on what we know. I know 90% of these cases come down to scorned lover. I won't close the door on that idea but I will close the door on this being family or "El Chapo". This was something that was obviously well planned, likely rehearsed many times by people who were very familiar with the victims habits and the crime scene's themselves.

I 'think' it is possible that KR was killed after the 7 others were found murdered. It's just a possibility I have, however I am not entirely sold on the theory.

I met a guide from your part of the country while traveling through the mountains in the mid-west not long ago. Super nice fella. We found it amusing that we shared a similar drawl. I've visited your state too. Everyone was super nice. Much like my home state. Everyone in our group, on the trip into the mountains, was nice and friendly, but, and I don't really think they knew they were being this way, there was a couple, from a part of the country I'll leave nameless, who yucked it up just a bit too much. They were nice, but it was still borderline making fun. I took no offense, but it was mildly irritating.

Interesting! Funny how things go sometimes, eh? I spent my younger school days in Odessa/Andrews Texas and so, developed a strong West Texas accent. Moving to EP at age 12, many of my school mates giggled at the way I'd say words like "ice". I mostly lost the accent living 20+ years here, but when I want to, I can trot it out nice and pretty. Often do when encountering people who think they're dealing with a naive Texas girl. Bad, I know.

Here is something interesting concerning the property at 4077 UHR. I was looking through the Pike County Auditor's site on the properties and decided to look at the map view overlaid with Google Earth. I blanked out the other owners' names of the property that CRsr seems to have been using. Not sure if it is a bad survey that the tax office maps were done with.

I did, too rsd 1200 and I have to say I have had nightmares about this case, too. *I was standing in Dana's living room, far to the left and looking across the room staring at the front door area and what looks like a hallway to a bedroom down that way* which woke me up and I literally jumped out of bed and began my 'real' day at 4:35 am with coffee thinking, "This is just SO unbelievably awful and sad" ...and that's only one nightmare I've had. Some murders just get to you more than others and this one has me bad. I think this family became very real for me because of their FB pages. They could be anyone you would know and love, at least for me. I imagine Dana had just moved into the nicest place she had ever lived in and I imagine her happiness at decorating her new home... ahhh! It could break your heart. I still think that last land/home purchase is the catalyst for the murders somehow. I'm actually glad LE is being so quiet because, here in my state, we have the Sunshine Laws and so much gets put out there that I am very familiar with how the MSM and a flood of legal documents can destroy a case... literally hand it to the defense to win. I begin every day now checking the news for arrests in the case. I agree with a previous comment that it is "friends" or "business associates" and that something ticked them off badly enough to do this and I agree with the KY connection, too. (That actually is my # 1 theory.) I can't wait until someone is arrested and has to pay for these murders.

Like you, this family could be many people I've known over the years. I go back to look at their FBs so that they come back to being those real people, and not just a case, should I start to forget. I agree w/you on LE not giving us much. I was listening to the podcast of the WS interview yesterday, and the guest pointed out, same as you, how it was beneficial in a case that LE not give the public too much. They mentioned the people who will falsely confess, so, if they don't keep back key details, LE can't weed those people out quickly and that bogs the case down too. I know people who falsely confess have to have a type of mental illness but I still can't wrap my head around that one. I think LE is really working hard on this and at some point it will be solved. I have another pet theory that involves the "business", GR as inadvertently starting the ball rolling, b/c of his history and introducing some of the sketchier folks that he was friends with, and that Hwy 23 pipeline. Hopefully something will break soon. Whoever did this is most likely still walking around free, and that is a scary thought, especially, I'd think, for the people of Piketon.

All of the cleared area in the middle of the pic was in use by CRSr and FR. Both mobile homes, a good chunk of the pole barn an part of the garage are on a large parcel that belongs to someone else. (I banked the names out that were nor CRSr.) The 4 smaller parcels (outlined areas) with CHRISTOPHER RHODEN are the ones titled to him. There may be a survey error, but a 300 foot error would be huge.

They measure from the highway too, so it's not quite that many feet, if it's the same one I looked at. It may very well be that the other fella does not even realize, nor did CR1. Especially if they put the pole barn up themselves. I could put one up here and not have to have anyone out to survey or get a permit, etc... I've run fencing here and just walk it off and then back it up 10'-15'. Possibly the only time anyone may have ever noticed is if one of them sold the property (or now).

If you want to be confused even more (maybe it's just stupid me) go to the Pike Co Auditor's website and look up Christopher Rhoden (sometimes there's a middle inital of D) when you type on the parcel # it gives more info on the land. I can't figure out who owned it, who payed taxes, or what. I'm not as versed in land contracts as others. I know some of the land is in a family trust and Chris Sr. was the adminastrator (sp). Maybe somebody else can figure this out. Thank You.

I remember this being discussed in an earlier thread and pictures were shown where the pole barn sat and I think there was even lines on the picture showing basically (IIRC) the outline kind of only encompasses the 2 trailers and putting the pole shed on another piece of property, but I could be wrong as it's been some time ago we discussed it.

I can't get the picture to come up in your post, all I get is an "X" there so I'm unable to see exactly what you mean by your post, so rather I'm just trying to recall from memory us discussing it prior.

I just went and looked at some older threads and Thread #11, posts 971 and 977 (plus several others) do show pics of property lines etc. Hope this is helpful. (If I knew how to bring those posts forward I would but I don't know how - maybe someone else can).

ETA: And now that I have revisited those old posts I'm not even sure if CR Sr's trailer and FR's trailer were even on Rhoden property. I could be wrong though as it's rather confusing/misleading etc.

Good point. It will all come out in the wash now that the land will change hands. I wonder if much more than the original old yellow house and a small amount of land at that spot is all that was legally owned by Chris sr and others. As someone said when this was discussed before, it may have been that Chris was renting land from this other man and woman. This same man is associated with another piece of land owned by Chris sr and his age is about right to be a friend of Chris sr's parents. He may be an old family friend and had no interest in using this land for anything.

Your right , when I was looking at the property at the auditors site it said this property was vacant of occupants.

There was another , where a bunch of young kids were brutally beat up by two wildly drunk deputies. One of them was the father of one of the kids that was mauled. It was unreal if I can find it. I think and hope I am not in trouble for posting local news MSM reports of what has been going on !

The prosector, had no issues with giving his guns to friends - poor dude, his gun killed a person.
