I doubt an obituary would note that they did not get along well if they were supposedly living the same place... Maybe the person supplying that info did not know the situation...

Idk, if they didn't know that for sure, they'd probably have just left off "best friend" and said cousin, or maybe not even cousin. CR1's obit was the only obit that even mentioned GR. Most folks don't assume those kinds of things unless they're told that by a family member. It's normally a family member who sits down w/the funeral director, and they talk about the deceased, and flesh out how they want to the obituary to read.

Another bust.

30 people arrested in weekend sweep in Chillicothe

http://www.chillicothegazette.com/s...othe-drug-weapons-sweep-ross-county/90689096/

From your link:

In March, he began working with state and federal agencies to conduct undercover operations with the intention of sending a message to people who sell drugs in the city: "If you're going to deal drugs, stay out of our community. We don't want you here. You're not welcome. We're going to get you."

...

Washburn said some of the people who were indicted are considered to be mid-level, and there were some connections between them and other cities. He went on to confirm officials think they are dealing with multiple drug rings, but he would not go into specifics, citing the integrity of the ongoing investigation. Officials said there are additional people being investigated.

It's interesting how effective LE can be when they target an area to get rid of drug dealers. Why wasn't this being done in the Piketon area? Not saying the Rhoden family should have been busted for IMO, a relatively minor pot grow operation, but LE should have known, must have known, what was going on. It appeared they had been in business a couple of years.

Article also says half the people were local, but others were from Columbus and Dayton areas.

They're hoping the number of overdose cases in the area declines as a result. Chillicothe has seen 184 overdose calls just in 2016. I wonder how many overdose calls happened in Piketon/Pike County in 2015? Just curious.

That's an interesting point. We kind of passed over that detail about CR1's obit back then. It does seem to bolster the idea that CR1 and GR had a special kinship that other family members didn't share. Kind of adds to the theory about GR bringing trouble to town from his activities in KY.

Had they been busted, they may have some legal issues on their hands but might still be alive!

Lots of drug busts since April....

Brought it or maybe caused it....

Low level and mid level "dealers" can be replaced by a million other idiots any day. They need to go after the source.

Then again, GR may have just come up for the festival and was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I really don't see him as a mastermind. He may have had some sketchy friends though. Not saying he was stupid but I feel like he was your typical addict. I've know some very, very, smart addicts (former white collar making bank) but after the addiction took hold, for them to put together a big business gig would have been hard, if not impossible.

Hopefully, these mid level people involved in the drug scene can give enough info to start picking up people at the higher level, and hopefully, at least some of them may start talking! I've only known of one person who ever admitted they liked to be in jail, and his thing is he gets three meals a day, his laundry is done for him, he has free cable, and he doesn't have to work. Lazy isn't his middle name, it's his FIRST name! I know his brother, and he's a hard worker and takes care of his family, but he has an alcohol and pot problem, so he always seems to be on probation. And he's around my age, so I don't know if he will ever grow up!

I don't know if 4077 UHR is for sale or not but the Trulia.com site lists "no recent crimes" in the area.

I certainly understand why they want to get out of there. I feel bad for LM. Property values are way down. I certainly would not have a place out there if it was free. I am afraid he will have a hard time getting it sold.

Can't say I'd want to keep living in the area and driving by those murder scene properties where family members died....

Does anyone have a link that works on the house for sale? I can't find it on any real estate site. Thanks.

Wonder where in the world Leonard and Judy might be going? I certainly agree, it would be so hard living in the that area knowing my family is no longer there.

  • #839
You know the more I think about it, there is no way that 4077 could be for sale. I think it takes at least 6 months for probate and we haven't reached that time yet. Not to mention all the legal illeagal things that a lawyer would have to figure out. As for LM and JM, I just don't know. I'm so sorry I brought it up.

I doubt Leonard and/or Judy's names would be on any of the Rhoden property deeds.
