I seriously doubt that it is standard operating procedures anywhere in the country.

Rather, weapons carried by officers nearly always must be either issued by the department, or registered with the department. Some, or perhaps, many departments simply do not allow officers to carry personally owned weapons. A department that permits officers to carry their own weapons may have restrictions in addition to registering the weapon with the department (must be of a certain design, caliber, or even from a selection of certain models).

Though say, a rural department can have relaxed rules about personally owned weapons and allow officers to carry what they want with in reason, many officer would probably shy away from borrowing weapons. Their life can depend on that weapon. Thus officers want to carry a weapon that they are totally familiar with in grip, weight, trigger pull, safeties or the lack there of, maintenance etc.

In the end, I don't think officer routinely carry borrowed weapons for a variety of reasons.

I think many cannot understand the level of police corruption that there is in small Ohio towns/counties. I saw it up close in Illinois and now in Ohio. I see it everyday.

How about this cop that just got only 2 years for dealing drugs next to a school? This town is about 30 mins from me.
Ex-state trooper sentenced to 2 years for being part of drug-trafficking ring

How about this one? This guy was faking time cards for himself and other officers, taking petty cash, stealing cash from dead bodies etc etc. When I commented on Facebook he (and his friends) went after me. Oddly he had many people that wanted him to keep his job. I used to sell real estate in this town. Its about 15 mins from where I live now. The Chief before this one was as bad or worse.

My own theory is that it really isn't as complicated as some think. Occam's razor and all that.

Who had the most to gain by these deaths? Who may have been jealous? Why didn't the dogs bark or attack? That is what they were there for. I don't buy that some stranger threw meat to them and that shut them up. Nope. Most attack dogs are trained not to take food from a stranger. The 2 pitbulls that normally were always in the house were (supposedly) outside curled up in chairs.

Remember the Gofundme money of over 8000.00 had to be refunded as family members were fighting over who would get it. That imo is a clue too.

Six months later, skepticism, rumors abound in Pike County

I don't like to miss a beat as I'm still learning. Im having tonight off as Strictly Come Dancing is just coming on now. You have a American version I believe.

I'm still here, but I'm hanging out more in lurk mode for a spell. BBL is one of my top theories but I have reservations about going too far. I worry we might get the thread shut down.

I think we need to just use initials and limit our sleuthing of these companies, per TOS at WS. I'm not sure there's anything to this line of investigation, so we need to be careful. I'll ask mods for guidance on this, ok? I'm uncomfortable looking into it myself.
Hi Betty P,

First, thank you for checking.

Unless there is a mainstream media report or some other compelling reason to think any of these businesses are somehow in the know about the crimes we should not discuss it on the public forum.

I would encourage you to take this to what we call a "Conversation". It works just like a private message except you can invite up to 20 people to your conversation.

Betty P, why don't you start the private conversation and choose who should be in the conversation with you and go from there.

Your conversation can be started by clicking your "inbox". Your inbox is located next to your username in the upper right-hand corner of any page.

If you have any question please let me know via a private conversation. :)

In case posters have glossed over this instruction I'll say once again that ANY SLEUTHING OF ANY BUSINESS CANNOT BE DONE ON THE PUBLIC FORUM. YOU MUST TAKE YOUR EFFORTS TO THE PRIVATE CONVERSATION AKA PRIVATE MESSAGE.

Let me remind everyone you are responsible if you publically accuse an innocent person or business of any wrongdoing. Your words have power. Finally, always remember, even if you post something in private, someone could make it public. There is no guarantee that someone who is writing you back and forth won't make your communications public for whatever reason. Always remember that before you hit send or post on anything.

Thank you,
Tricia

Tricia, Thank you for suggesting this. There are several excellent sleuthers here who need to advance their research and theories. I just hope if a conversation is started and there is a space for me, I will be asked to join.

I agree with you about this particular top theory. BBL got in my head because of connections to the family over the years. But there were more than BBL connections and with other folk that we may not know names of. Some we do. It's a place where any shady dude could meet up with a few other shady folk. JMO

Agreed. There is another campsite place in Pike County. Guess who has a little cabin within walking distance?

Are you talking about Big Rock Cabins? I haven't a clue who has a little cabin there. Unless I did know but forgotten for now. Yes, that's it, brain tired as it's almost midnight and bedtime lol.

Using google map I see something at 50 Bell Hollow Rd. Latham. Let me figure out if it has cabins.

Well Mitten I see you were on the ball as usual and you have posted the winning answer. Congratulations & good work.:)

RIP to all of them. These were such cruel and brutal deaths. I hope their families find justice some day. Sympathies also to their friends and family who have to relive these deaths again as they read details in the news media.

As much as we dislike having to go over these details, JMO, it helps advocate for the fair and accurate resolution of these horrible crimes.

Family members and friends, you have all our love and support.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned before but what struck me about the autopsies was the fact 2 females were shot 5 times in the head. Hannah Gilley and Dana Rhoden is there any significance in that?

The little place is actually the address of a TV station. Nextv.

Something to think about. Why HMR, 2 shots? I think the shot locations, after learning some of them, spoke more to me than the number, especially w/DR, and learning of the muzzle being right against GR. I think they may have tried to point LE in a specific direction, through the way some were shot, and by something purposely left behind. I don't know what, but there's a reason they took those trailers. This was brutal. I'm not related to these folks, don't even live in the state, but it's still too close.
