Common Pleas Judge Rosenberger presided over the custody case, IIRC. Because it involved minor children, the details are not available to the public. HR was deceased and JW was the proven bio father, so at that time he may not have had enough evidence to deny custody. The charges for falsifying the custody papers may have something to do with that.

IIRC, the Wagner family was able to "convince" IV's child's mom to give up custody of their child. They probably thought the Rhodens would do the same with Hanna's daughter S, but found out otherwise.

I wonder what Jeff Ruby says now that it turned out to be a local family who murdered the Rhodens.

He had withdrawn his $25K reward due to concerns that a Mexican drug cartel was responsible.

Yes. I hope we learn more about how they got into the homes, too. Chris Grave's article mentioned that the window was open in the bedroom of FR & HHG. We were really scrutinizing those crime scene photos in the first days after the murders trying to see if one of Frankie's windows was open, after seeing the one open on CR1's trailer. It sounds like either CR1 or GR let them into his trailer, but the assumption was that FR's trailer door was locked. Maybe they did crawl in the window, why else would it be open? Did they know it would be unlocked or was it a poor attempt to keep the room cold and confuse LE about the TOD? W's tried to cover all the bases, not always successfully.

Still shaking my head that they could commit the most gruesome murders in front of innocent children and babies, then go on to do it again and again.

I had mentioned earlier that BigGIII is large and tall in stature. (This is as close to perp walk as we are going to see.) This has the video of his actual arrest surrounded by LE. BigGIII towers above all of them and he doesn't look confused...he just looks angry while shaking his head in "disbelief?"
(Not sure how to interpret, any thoughts on his demeanor??)

I think JW did go and put up the crib. I think he did it so he could memorize the layout and where the victims slept. They hadn't lived there long and that may have been his only opportunity to check out the inside of Dana's home. When dropping off of picking up S, she may have been exchanged outside or at the door. JW had an ulterior motive. He didn't do it out of kindness.

Rhoden massacre: Sophia Wagner, 4, safe in Scioto County, relative says

The child whose custody has been referred to by authorities as part of the motive behind the 2016 massacre of the Rhoden family is in state custody in Portsmouth, Ohio, according to a relative.

Leonard Manley, father of the slain Dana Manley Rhoden and great-grandfather of Sophia Wagner, 4, said he couldn't speak about the ongoing case against the Wagner family, but that his great-granddaughter was safe in neighboring Scioto County.

Remember when Dana got a phone call at work the night of the murders, and she was upset?
I wonder if JW turned up to pick up S on that night that he was not scheduled to have her, with a forged document so that there would not be fuss about taking her?
He couldn't afford to have Hanna call the police on him for that, on that night.
I have thought about that a few times but you would think that they would destroy it, unless a copy was found in the trailer.

That might be. Didn't JW go over there around 10 PM that night? Unless someone else was at home in that house to intervene, he could have just snatched up Sophia and left with her. I wonder if Chris, Jr. was at home when that happened? If her brother wasn't home to intervene, and we know Dana wasn't at home, what, physically, could Hanna have been able to do to stop him? I think Hanna may have called her mother instead.

IIRC correctly, I don't think Hanna and Jake had a legal custody arrangement, but Jake was trying to get full custody and the schedule they had was something they had agreed upon. Hanna and even Dana might have believed that his just taking Sophia outside what had been agreed upon was something they could even call the police about. It would have been extremely upsetting, but it was also late, and Sophia would have been asleep at the W's. This may have something the Rhodens might have intended to deal with, in person, the next day.

JMO, the text message might have been necessary to try to determine if DR had done something she normally did after coming home from work to help them figure out when she would fall asleep that night. I'm not sure whether her work schedule was set in store, or whether it varied.

It's all so sick, twisted, and so evil. I think it was all about getting total control of children, and JMO, the puppet master was AW.

ALWAYS, yep, had to look closely and saw the"extension on the handcuffs"... and I looked at more of the coverage and TWICE NOTED "found in the trailer." Was BigGWIII (sorry but only way to keep lineage/identity straight) hiding from the police?? Or was he just in the trailer to get the horse untied at the time of his arrest?

Any clue on why the autopsy reports were redacted to such an extent? I thought it might be due to drug use but it doesn’t sound like that is the case.

My heart goes out to the R, M, and G families. Their loved ones reputations were tarnished during the past two years. It’s such a shame that GRs father died a few short months ago and didn’t get to see the arrest.

Dewine said they came back from Alaska in the spring. I think they came back to help FW run the horse farm (spring is foaling season a ton of work) and because they couldn't hack it in Alaska. I really feel a big part of going there was also to get clean. IMO there was meth involved. Meth sores are always a give away. Its hard to get clean if you stay in the environment you got addicted in. Also accounts for the obsessive slant of all this.

I read they were pulled over after leaving R&R Equine Hospital and Billy was hiding in the trailer. I’ll look for the article.
