As I recall, the Sheriff's statement about the family was fairly carefully worded. Along the lines of knowing the family (as most certainly everybody in the county has some knowledge of others), but never having encountered them criminally. For me that left open some middle ground for possible civil (such as domestic violence) or traffic encounters, etc. IOW--no history of arrests or suspicions regarding the pot operation, or anything immediately pertinent to the case at hand.
Yes I thought it was a carefully worded political spin. I'm guessing they already knew about the grow operations when that was asked.

He has been there from the beginning.

At all the pressers too? Sorry, I might be confused. So much to follow, sigh....

The festival was in town...the crime scenes were 20 miles away. Hired professionals likely would have had intelligence on the targets given to them. The houses aren't far from a highway, easier and safer to stay in Columbus or Cincinnati and drive right to the houses.

And who would have enough money to hire killers for 8 people........would cost a lot more than the value of a demo derby car. I just don't think there were hired killers. JMO This was full of rage killing, not professional. JMO

anybody know if Christopher Jr was alone in the home when he was shot? and whose home was it

my mistake I have just read Chris Jr was found with mother and sister,

can anybody answer who was found at which crime scene?

Early on I saw on someone's page a video, cops everywhere and people saying "they killed him". I don't think I saw it on a victim's page but the sister of the person the video was about, which had to be connected some way for me to find it. I wonder if that was this video. I didn't keep watching it or search it out more because I didn't see it was connected..

That would be Chris Jr's fb page. There's also a number of past charges on officers and other incidents in the county, but I think Reader was put in to clean up the image of the Dept. Probably to be more trusted, because it's obvious the community has issues reading many local comments. People seem to like and trust Sheriff Reader though.

Question for those of you who said you live in rural communities where women sell a lot of things on FB -- WHY? Are they just trying to make a little extra cash? Or are they trying to make it look like they have a legitimate source of income to cover for a illicit source of income? Is it a cover for drug dealing? Prostitution? Or are they really just trying to get $20 here and there?

IMO they're just trying supplement whatever income they have.

Very interesting, thank you. I think that the person with one bullet shot to the head was the person that the killers had the LEAST amount of anger towards. However, the money strewn about says otherwise. Unless that was just a last minute attempt at diversion.

I kind of see it going something like this: "Ok, we killed all the core Rhodens. Gotta go take care of Uncle Kenny too though because he saw us, and can identify us." So they drive 8 miles, hand the dog (who knows them) a treat, walk in and get rid of their last problem. Real quick and clean. Then they throw a bunch of money around to make it look like some kind of drug hit. "Yah, that'll throw off that new Sheriff!"

JMO. IMO. MOO.

I think a bit the same as you...I find a few things about this case might made to look like something else, almost a bit set-up with props or something. Also like someone watched too many movies or CSI (although the CSI might have a pay off if they supposedly planned/coordinated well!)

They have all been very political type answers. I chalked the sheriff up to not being media savvy, until the other stuff.

Now it seems the DA has spent his career mostly as a politician which could explain the reason for the political type pressers. I work with politicians, I've been to so many political pressers where I know the real answers.. These have been political type pressers, but he is a politician.

Now the info above your posts about things not being released makes my BS meter go up again.

Any one of these things could be explained away, all of them together just have me wondering if something more is going on, something bigger.

I see where you are, I'm not there yet, but I won't be surprised if you're right.

I find it interesting the cousin said it was 1000 dollars, who would count money laying on your dead relative you just found...and as tight lipped as the police are being and possible suspicion of family, I doubt they told him the amount

I took it to be an estimate or a figure of speech, meaning something along the lines of, more than he could count, or the body being more or less blanketed with them.

I'm not saying hired professionals, although I don't even want to rule that out. I'm saying whoever killed them could have used the festival as a cover to be in town. I've written about it in the previous threads and don't have time to go dig it up. Everyone's pretty much ignoring it though so I'm probably about the only one who even thinks it's a possibility. Which is fine.

The bust in February and Leanord's words for the most part.

That was my take as well. This case is getting lots of attention for obvious reasons, but still he is the sheriff of a fairly small place. It just wouldn't do to come out and say anything about the criminal histories of any of them right then. They are victims at this time.

Well like I said, on the Internet gossip site I read early on about people requesting the DA to clean up corruption up to the judicial system. Such as getting a "DUI" but you could buy your way out and it not be on your record.

There could have been a lot of corruption that is being cleaned up and these murders could be connected to that and why they are being so funny about all this.

Yeah first presser I saw he and the sheriff did it.

Gotcha! My bad... I still think they have suspects in mind and an arrest won't be long.

Although I 100% believe ( as of right now) that this had to do with money... Some wY some how- I just can't bring myself to believe that 8 people were riddled with bullets over demolition cars !!!!!

But, I think the festival meant that GR would be in town and it was about timing, to get all who potentially knew something at the same time.

Around me its trying to make ends meet. (Possibly trying to get $20 for heroin. It, sadly is very prevalent around here)

I see stuff that people literally drag out of the house to sell for a few bucks.
Junk even that IMO is trash, it could be a treasure to someone.
