Wow. The attacker took his gun. He's very lucky he wasn't shot with it. :candle:

Officer John Amole was airlifted to a hospital after a man attacked him and stole his service gun late on South Second Street about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday.

After dispatch could not reach Amole, other officers were sent to the area. Amole was found on the ground unconscious with his weapon missing, according to reports.

Chief Deputy Carl Smith said the firearm had been recovered by police at the scene.

So which is it - the weapon was stolen or not stolen? It's so hard to believe conflicting info - jmo.

Maybe the gun was missing from his holster and found later at the scene? Who knows.
