If that what he has up his sleeve, then he's going to be in for a very rude surprise.
Now if Littleton believes that he's only facing state charges from Ohio, then he's badly mistaken. He can be facing Federal criminal charges as well.
For now, I know of two potential federal crimes that he can be charged with.
The first charge is unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. He fled Ohio and went across the state line to avoid being arrested in connection with the murder of Tiffany Brown.
The second charge is auto theft. He stole the Russell's automobile and took it across the state line.
Now here is the rude surprise. If he kidnapped the Russell's, or took and forced the Russell's to take him across the state line, and admits to murdering them in West Virginia (or in another state), he will be facing federal kidnapping and murder charges.
Never mind that the state of West Virginia doesn't have the death penalty.
What Littleton doesn't yet know is that he can still get the death penalty on the federal kidnapping and murder charges in federal court.
