Even stranger....I found no follow up anywhere but in the comments under this post, there's a photograph of a newspaper obit for her. I couldn't find it online.
Real head scratcher here.

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157031799804922&id=41236779921

I found this post about the obituary on page three of this thread. I had to dig quite a bit to find the obituary post:
https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10155277783827219&id=718362218&set=p.10155277783827219&source=47&__tn__=R

People asked what newspaper the obituary was published, but the person never responded. As mentioned above, his profile is private, so no clue as to whether or not it's on his own page or how or if he knows the couple.

Bringing this forward. Please see comment by JY to this link. I haven't seen that this has appeared in MSM or that anyone has been able to find the original source, but I may well have missed a post. I'll continue going through the thread.

ETA: the post with the photo is still on FB.

Too funny- we both went looking for the obituary. You are correct, I thought it was from an actual newspaper because it sure did look like an obituary that would appear in a newspaper. Yet I can't find that obit anywhere on line at all. Where did he get this from, I wonder? Who is this guy?

With my Dad, that's what it was like for awhile. He got violent. Then he got through to the other side of it, although while in the hospital he did have to be restrained but mostly that was so he wouldn't pull out any tubes that were attached to him. He threw daily/hourly fits about that. But by the time he was I never that phase, he didn't have a lot of the strength to follow through with any of his ideas.

This also happened to my dad when he had to be hospitalized. He hated being restrained. He did not have the mental capacity to know it was for his own good and well-being. Although seeing anyone restrained is such a heartbreaking thing to see.

But at 75 he was still extremely strong. At the care home if he became highly agitated with someone at times it would take 3-4 large male workers to restrain him. What seem to cause him to become violent more than anything was if someone talked to him in a loud voice or came in the room and woke him up right out of the blue by turning the light on his face.

I remember there was one male nurse who was a lovely man but it was obvious he did not know much about keeping a dementia patient from getting highly upset. Most dementia patients, men and women, I have seen do not like to be talk to in a loud voice and can become very agitated and act out aggressively. This particular nurse when he came into the rooms always talked so loud so much that he even upset some of the other patients that were further down the hallway.

Finally, I think some of the other nurses told him he was making matters worse.......not better for later on he reduced his voice level, and made it more soft and soothing when talking to these kind of patients.

I have seen those in their 80s who can still be a handful when they act out aggressively. Its amazed me how strong many of them can be at their age.

IMO

I don't know. I'm not completely discounting the obit, because I know of a few very local and small newspapers in Indiana that don't offer content online. Buuuuuut ... it seems odd to me that an obit would run and simply state that there would not be any memorial service and no mention of any way for any one to pay their respects (even a donation to a cancer society, for instance). Or even that her ashes would be scattered in accordance with her wishes. (of course, we know now that's probably not possible)

To have an obit end with [paraphrased]: 'She's being cremated. End of story." strikes me as unusual, even if they didn't have many family members in the area. Perhaps its due to financial considerations?

I found that very odd, too, unless they had a full obituary published at the funeral home webpage (not that I can find one!).

This detail might be minor, but they also spelled her nickname wrong as well.

It seemed like a very dry obituary- no personal details such as she loved being with family, arts and crafts, The Columbus Blue Jackets, etc. It was like an old fashioned obituary from my mother's time. Of course, they are expensive so maybe he didn't have the money to post a larger one. Also, lots of folks use the funeral home obituary page to post more details now and a run a basic one in the papers, again I am believing it is cost related. I know of several families that have done this recently. Still, where did this obituary come from, and why hasn't anyone else seen it or posted it? Very odd!

I've checked all the funeral homes obituary pages in their town and surrounding towns, and there is no obituary listed at any of them. Just thought everyone might want to know this before they try. So it appears that it's either from a free newspaper that doesn't post their papers online, or someone is having a jolly good old time for themselves creating one to cause suspicion.

Here is an article from January 13th with PS's photo with Bobby,

https://www.lintelligencer.com/philip-snider-police-probe-mans-claim-that-wife-died-on-graceland-trip-671-2018/

Not sure how old the photo is, but he does appear to be in decent shape physically.

Thanks. It does look like he’s in good shape. FWIW, an 81 yo man I know was still lifting weights until just a couple of years ago, when health issues forced him to quit. Depends on the individual, but I do think it’s possible PS could have lifted her body, especially after seeing that pic.

I hope police are digging to see if perhaps PS has a 'lady friend.'

I won't lie- that thought has occurred to me. That's why I was saying it would be nice to have a photo of him, to see if anyone remembers him being alone, with Bobby, or someone else. I doubt he would bring another woman with him, especially to dump Bobby's body in the river, but it can't be ruled out, either, for the time being. There's a lot of possibilities here, and without confirmation that he truly had dementia, this could turn into a possible murder case. JMO, and I hope that is not the case (that there was someone else).

In that photo, they do look like a loving couple, but photos can be deceiving.

Bobby, where are you, dear lady?

I read the obituary when it was first posted but completely missed the statement that she passed away UNEXPECTEDLY. I find that very odd to put it that way since she was supposedly in the end stages of cancer.

Could this have been an assisted suicide or is it murder? I'm torn between those two. When we have no more information than we have, speculating is pretty much all we can do.

Nothing about this case makes any sense at all!

MOO

Apparently some family members say they did not know she was ill. Again, MOO.

I don’t know which newspaper the obit appeared in. I’m local and have searched all of the local newspaper sites but haven’t found it listed online.

Is there anyone local who knows which papers don't publish online? Maybe it was pulled after more circumstances became known. I can't see it being placed by a funeral home with no body.

Most all local newspapers here publish the obituaries online. The closest newspapers to Hartville are The Canton Repository, The Akron Beacon Journal and the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
There’s a small weekly newspaper in the town of Hartville, but not sure if it would’ve been printed there or not?
