"Snider reportedly claimed to relatives that the woman was in poor health"

"Suspicious relatives contacted authorities who couldn’t track down any record of the woman’s death,*news station WJW reported."

So only husbands word of her ill health....

That's what makes me suspicious of her poor health. Even if Bobby decided not to tell anyone of her health issues, there would be obvious changes in her if she had cancer. Weight loss, loss of appetite, tiring easily, discomfort. It sounds to me that this is his claim, which could be false. The only one that could answer this for LE would be her doctors at this point, as it is clear that her sons and brother aren't aware of her alleged poor health.

This is why I was wondering why everyone jumped on the cancer train.

Where did the previous report come from that Bobby's physician had said he didn't think she was in any condition to survive the Graceland trip/drive? I'm sneaking in sneak peeks over here and can't research myself at the moment. But the new info from the last few posts makes me wonder where that came from, again something someone heard from Mr Snider?

It was the Benton County Sheriff who said it but he did not reveal his source for that info:

"Mrs. Snider was a big Elvis fan and she wanted to see Graceland before she died, so her husband was trying to fulfill her wishes," Christopher said. "Her doctor said he didn't think she was in good enough shape to survive an 11-and-a-half hour trip each way."

I have the feeling LE is knowing a lot more (or have more evidence) then they are saying.

I see this here on WS about 20 times a week. Sadly, it's usually only the truth about 5 times.

Thank you Gardener1850!

If you strip everything here to the bare bones, you have this: 2 people went on an out of state trip and only 1 returned. Knowing only that info, I know wouldn’t be searching my mind for reasons NOT to suspect the one remaining. I guess I’m just jaded.

I agree 100%! So many people here are jumping to his defense. Having said that, a lot of you here would make excellent defense attorneys ;)

forgive me but do we know for certain that "2 people went on an out of state trip"? Is there confirmation that she was in the car when he left on this alleged adventure to Graceland?

Nope. LE stated they are looking for witnesses that saw them traveling together. I don't think it has been proven she left to go on the trip with him. JMO.

I absolutely think she could be in that river too, at this point. I hope there are answers soon for those who love this woman. I can't imagine.

What puzzles me is there is no photo of him yet for folks to look at to see if he was with her or alone.

He used her card. But when you sign in, did he say he was alone or his wife in the car?

The article specifies that they couldn't track down records of her death...not necessarily that they couldn't track down records of her poor health. I would imagine that the kids and the brother would be screaming if she wasn't actually in poor health. I believe she was and I believe that he probably likely helped her end her suffering.

Was hoping to find more news about Bobby today. This is so maddening! So many questions and the (unreliable or deceitful?) answers are more maddening than the questions themselves.

If Mr. Snider is indeed suffering from some sort of dementia and cannot give truthful or reliable statements about what happened, that’s one thing.

I think the thing that I’m most hung up on is the latest version that he drove around and hung out with her deceased body in the truck for a couple of days. Then had the presence of mind to get large garbage bags, and to question about the nearest car wash. That to me indicates a sense of planning, guilt, and a sense of not wanting to get caught.

But I just get the vibe that she never made it to Memphis. As in never left home.

Plus the Lie detector test. Would LE perform that on someone with indications of declining mental capacity? What would be the point?

I mean in this sense of a scenario. Say a person with Alzheimer’s or dementia thinks their son is really their long deceased husband. The person truly believes that in their altered mental state, right? So if they believe it, wouldn’t it appear as truthful to the lie detector?

Little snippets I’ve seen on Lie detector tests, the administrators will often decline to do the test based on a subject’s health, emotional well-being, signs of other impairment such as being under the influence of drugs, etc.

I would think that if a person’s stories had changed so often and made such little sense that during interviews it would be fairly clear whether the person is just a crappy liar trying to cya or someone who might be struggling with the onset of dementia.

I’m not a physician by any means and this is all MOO. Just thinking out loud.

May this be the day Bobby is found.

Good question. I wonder if perhaps they did it to see if he was faking impairment?

Police search truck, home in missing Hartville woman case

HARTVILLE Police continued their investigation into the disappearance of a Hartville woman by searching her husband’s truck and the couple’s home this week.

Roberta Snider, 70, has been missing since early January. Her husband, Philip Snider, 72, originally told law enforcement she died on their trip to Graceland in Memphis between Jan. 4 and Jan. 6 and he gave her body to emergency medical workers he saw in a parking lot. But area hospitals, coroners’ offices and fire departments had no record of a Roberta Snider or an unidentified body.

After police recovered surveillance photos and video that captured Philip Snider alone during the trip, he changed his story and told police after his wife died, he tossed her body over a bridge and into the Tennessee River along Interstate 40.

No body has been recovered.

“The best information we have is that she is in the Tennessee River,” Hartville Police Chief Larry Dordea said Friday afternoon, adding that the river is “swift moving,” so her body might not be in the county where Snider told police he dumped it.

Police on Thursday night searched the truck Snider said the couple took to Graceland. On Friday, they searched the Snider’s Saint Abigail Street SW home again. Dordea declined comment on whether anything was taken during the search.

Police have obtained Snider’s credit card and phone records and are following up on any information those records present.

Philip Snider was in the hospital Thursday night. The status of his health wasn’t clear Friday afternoon.bbm

]Dordea said Snider had not returned to Tennessee to assist law enforcement there with the search for his wife’s body.

Phillip seems to have a very selective memory, IMO. He remembers certain parts of the story but not all. Had he assisted Roberta with her death out of love, I think he would have cracked by now. It must have been more nefarious than that.

The neighbors and especially the adult children could vouch for Bobby's end stage cancer and that Phillip was in some stage of dementia.None of the story makes any sense.

If Phillip is in the hospital, maybe he is being tested for dementia.

It would seem that Phillip would not be cognizant enough to drive that distance if at all. I don't buy his story.

Sorry if I seem hard on Phillip, but my sympathy is with Roberta. I just do not feel she would be okay with being tossed in the river. I wouldn't count that as being returned to nature!

* Did he even notify the Social Security Administration of Roberta's death? What a mess!

MOO - Been here all along and finally decided to post!
