Oh. My. Goodness!

So poor Roberta may never be found and laid to rest properly....that breaks my heart and makes me mad at the same time!

How can anyone do that to their decades-long partner - the mother of your children? I’m just heartsick.

Husband admits to undercover officer that he killed his wife with hammer, disposed of her body

Snider was sentenced on Monday to life in prison with a possibility of parole after twenty years.
Gee, what a shock, huh? I suspected all along that he killed her and that it was no mercy killing. At least we now have an answer as to what happened to poor Bobbie- may she rest in peace.

Oh, and who knows if he really dumped her in the river? Just because that part of the lie detector test showed he answered truthfully doesn't mean that he did. When he admitted to disposing of her, that part was true and he just added the river in there so they wouldn't find her. She's out there somewhere, I just get that feeling.....

From the article above that Han posted was two paragraph's on the second page that caught my interest: Husband admits to undercover officer that he killed his wife with hammer, disposed of her body

According to authorities, Snider went as far as proposing to the officer so she could collect his pension when he died, but she told him if they were to continue seeing each other she would need to know the truth about what happened to his wife.

Snider eventually told the officer that on Jan. 2, he had a verbal argument with Roberta and she went to sleep in the living room on a love seat. The next morning he went out for coffee and when he came back home he found her still asleep. Snider told the undercover officer that he took a shop cloth, placed it over his wife's head and hit her twice in the head with a two-pound stake hammer and killed her. Afterward, he tied a grocery bag over her head and rolled her body in a tarp. He put her body inside a large plastic container, gathered up several blood-splattered items and loaded everything into his truck. He then disposed of the body and the rest of the evidence at several different locations between Hartville and Memphis, according to what he told the officer.

Snider was sentenced on Monday to life in prison with a possibility of parole after twenty years.
Police said they were eventually called to Snider's residence in Hartville by family members after he tried unsuccessfully to take his own life. Snider had allegedly taken some anxiety medication and put a plastic bag over his head, authorities said. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

While Snider was in the hospital, officers obtained a search warrant to comb over his residence. A cadaver dog was brought in and during a search, it found a container in his basement containing part of his wife's sweater. The sweater was stained with human blood, and after testing, came back with over a 99 percent positive match for Roberta.

Just another man who thought he deserved more than she had given him.
The proposing to the undercover officer tells it all, IMO.

There is no fool like an old fool (now equipped with Viagra). Mind you, there are plenty of youngish ones too.

Snider was sentenced Monday, August 27. As part of his plea agreement, Snider is required to show investigators where he dumped his wife's body.

“The hottest places in hell are reserved for people like you,” Judge Frank Forchione said to Snider during his plea hearing.

73-year-old admits to brutally beating, killing wife prior to Graceland trip

I agree with the judge! I can't stop thinking about this. Strangling someone is said to be up front and close to the person, but daggone, hitting them with a hammer? You wife of decades? The mother of your adult children? There's just no justifying anything he did.

I bet that this was not the first time he bashed her.

How awful. I hope she never woke up. I hope he never sleeps well again.

I haven't read this thread in months, I really gave him the benefit of doubt. Holy smokes, what a utterly vile man. Hopefully Roberta will be found soon, those poor kids.

Agreed! She was likely no stranger to violence and I think perhaps secretly the kids knew this.

So.very.sad! I can't imagine how his children must feel about now. Was there previous instances of abuse?
