I don’t know if they still think this Jane Doe could be connected to the others or not. They haven’t been solved as far as I can tell. Her clothing isn’t indicative of that of a prostitute, I don’t think. But it’s possible.

From her Doe Network page:

Identifiers

Dentals: Available
Fingerprints: Unavailable
DNA: Available

Circumstances of Discovery

The decedent's skeletal remains were found near a fence in a wooded area off southbound I-271 near mile marker 39. She is believed to be a victim of homicide although her manner of death is unknown. She is believed to be African American.

In 2018, convicted serial killer Samuel Little confessed to killing the decedent. He claims he met the woman near East 39th and Broadway in Cleveland in the late 1970s. He described her as nicely dressed, and said she was a prostitute looking to make money to buy heroin. Little said he strangled her in his black 1973 Thunderbird, drove down the highway and dumped her body over a fence outside of Cleveland.

That is one of the crudest reconstructions I've ever seen. Who releases stuff like that, in good conscience?

Thank you for posting this! I always forget to look on Doe Network. I’d put my money on SL rather than the “Dr No” mentioned in relation to the other murders. So I guess the thread title is still accurate. I was hesitant to add the SK part. :D

@iulia did you post something over on his thread too? (Or maybe that's why MMcG started this thread... Thanks!)

I only posted here when I checked if this UID has a Doe Network page. I like checking them out because we might see what identifiers are available, if any, and sometimes some details that are no longer listed on NamUs. I hope you don’t mind @MadMcGoo :D

DNA match to a possible relative

“I wanted to come to you and see if people in the Cleveland community would remember my cousin,” said journalist and author Lee Hawkins.

Hawkins reached out to us after seeing our first story on this Jane Doe.

He was shocked when he said the FBI identified him as a second cousin of the victim.

He said a special agent contacted him after a DNA sample matched him as one of her closest known relatives.

They tested other possible relatives in the Akron area too.

“There were many, many sleepless nights where I wondered who my cousin was, what her name was. Did she come from Alabama? Where my family was from? And how did she wind up in Ohio?” he said.

Hawkins said it’s sad that no one seems to know who she was.

He doesn’t know of any missing relatives in his family and he’s been doing genealogy and family research for years.
