yes Pittsburgh area......with his deformities of the ear and jaw, he will really need to hide. I live near Pittsburgh and I hope he is turned in soon. Maybe has family in the area. No money, home, food, vehicle ????? homeless shelter? getting cold/rainy here at night.

Gurto is described as a white male, 5’10 feet tall, and weights 145 pounds, according to the U.S. Marshal’s Service. Gurto has a deformed right ear and a misaligned jaw. Gurto has tattoos on his right forearm.

After questioning the toddler's 22-year-old mother, Kelsie Blankenship, and the mother's boyfriend, 37-year-old Joshua Gurto, the Conneaut Law Director's Office filed charges and obtained an arrest warrant for Gurto in the murder and rape of Sereniti, according to WJW.

Gurto is a 5-foot-10, 145-pound male with a deformed right ear, misaligned jaw and tattoos on his right forearm, according to the outlet. He has not been seen since he first spoke to officers on the day of Sereniti's death.

This is a horrible, despicable and devastating crime, affecting everyone who has come into contact with it, including EMT personnel, Conneaut police officers and UH doctors, nurses and other medical personnel,” investigators wrote in a statement released by the Law Director’s Office on Friday afternoon.

There is an active search underway Thursday afternoon outside Pittsburgh for Joshua Gurto. US Marshals conducting the search are not releasing much information, just saying that an image of Gurto was spotted on surveillance camera at the Sheetz near the I-79 on ramp sometime in the last 48 hours. The area is being searched but investigators admit that enough time has passed for Gurto to leave the area.

“Sereniti was a beautiful beautiful baby; she always had a smile on her face,” Clarissa Murtha said. “She was always a happy baby.”


The Murthas began babysitting Sereniti about eight months ago.


“We were like her grandparents; we acted like her grandparents,” Murtha said. “We were so close to her all the time. She was a wonderful little girl. Sereniti was just learning to walk and just had her first birthday. We just loved her so much.”

Gurto was wearing a camouflage jacket, black pants and a black baseball hat. He was carrying a camouflage backpack. He was seen leaving Sheetz and walking north on Red Mud Hollow Road, which runs parallel to I-79.

The U.S. Marshal’s office released an image taken Oct. 13 by a surveillance camera inside a Girard, Pennsylvania, store.

Gurto is 5-feet-10-inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Crazy thing is that this is the first I am hearing of this and that he was SO CLOSE to this area! Our preschool certainly didn't know, as they had outdoor time today, and his general direction was toward all the schools in the area. Hopefully they get this soon!

I hope I am allowed to put this on here. My friend called me. Killer's tent is literally just feet from her daughters condo. The families have armed themselves. They see police action but got dark now and they are afraid. Pulled blinds and curtains which have been open. Locked doors and outside lights on. 79 is a main route, hopefully no one picks him up as a hitch hiker. Massive manhunt on KDKA breaking news. We have so many woods here and it is deer season!

They keep saying Pittsburgh but actually the exit of 79 is closer to Sewickley area about 12 miles from Pittsburgh city.
