Police: Man wanted for murder, rape of 13-month-old in custody

Authorities in Ohio said Friday that a man accused of raping and killing a 13-month-old girl has been taken into custody, Fox 8 reported.

“Josh Gurto has been apprehended in Pennsylvania and taken into custody. Details surrounding his arrest will be forthcoming,” Conneaut police posted on Facebook.

Investigators said Gurto, 37, was spotted Wednesday at a store in Ohio Township, Allegheny County. The station reported that a campsite was located near the store.

Gurto was charged in the death of Sereniti Sutley, the daughter of his 22-year-old girlfriend.

Police said they responded Oct. 7 to a call about an unresponsive child at an apartment complex in Conneaut, roughly 70 miles northeast of Cleveland.

The mother found the girl unresponsive at around 5:15 a.m. and reportedly screamed. She banged on neighbors’ doors, asking for someone to call 911.

Thank God!!!! This man is a disgusting . Surely they have DNA to prove without a doubt what he did to this poor baby. And surely they will not let him plea down to anything less than what he did..RAPED and MURDERED a baby.! This is beyond understanding and I could just hang my head and cry, for this baby and so many other babies on these threads.

Police in Franklin Park said Gurto was wearing all camouflage and carrying a backpack when an officer recognized him. The officer activated his patrol vehicle’s emergency lights and pointed a spotlight at Gurto, then got out of the vehicle, drew his pistol and ordered Gurto to the ground.

JMOO, maybe now we will get answers about this pediphile, what made him do this horrible crime.

Pure evil. Not sick, just pure evil. This kind of evil cannot be rehabilitated. This kind of evil needs to be annihilated, IMHO. MOO. 37 years old, and this is what he does. I cried when I read this. Seems there's no end to the depravity of some individuals. What is even sadder is such a high number of these stories include little children. :anguish: If he's found guilty, he deserves the death penalty (and not 10-20 years from now).
