I know it was reported that hit and run had been ruled out, but that is where I am stuck. She was hit, perhaps accidentally, and perp had to take her to cover up crime. Not an abduction.

My other theory is she took off. I know, I know, she'd never do that... but all possibilities MUST be explored.

No matter, I am hoping for good news and a resolution for those who know and love this young woman.

youre not the first who suggested someone asking for directions, and its always been a no no for me to get close to anyone's car!!! :(

Imo, she was run off the road either by a vehicle without making contact or physically assaulted and pushed off the road, while on her bicycle, by her abductor. According to the Sheriff, the scuffle or resistance occurred where her bicycle was located. The first rule of a sexual predator or serial killer is to gain compliance of their victim. If a ruse is effective, they will use it. If the ruse is not effective, then a violent physical assault or weapon will be used. jmo

Where does Sierah go to school? Apologies if this has already been asked/answered. I haven't read entire thread.

Wondering why WDIV report suggested that SJ could be in Michigan. Is it speculation because of the closeness to MI border? Does she attend college in Michigan? Does she have relatives or friends in Michigan?

Sierah Joughin has attended The University of Toledo, since 2014

Is human trafficking a problem in this area? I'll admit I don't know much about it, but I seem to see it mentioned more and more.
Praying hard for Ce. Such a beautiful girl and from what we've read, smart and strong. Let's hope she's developing a plan to get home as we speak.

I would like peoples thoughts on this. She goes missing at 6:45. The sun didn't even set until after 9 PM. That is over 2 hours of broad daylight left. Where was she taken? Then what?

To save both of us time, my opinion about what may have happened can be found in post #62, #207, and #263

I'll bet he enjoyed getting roughed up by that blonde reporter.....................I'll also bet his wife wasn't too thrilled when she saw that segment air on the nightly news..............

Not sure about all that steelman, but unless I missed it, he left out the most important rule; 'Never, ever, ever let an abductor remove you to another location'!

What about those sunglasses? The abductor would have been very aware she dropped them and was careful to hide them with the bike. This person thought to hide the bike and sunglasses in the corn field. They could of very easily just left her bike and sunglasses on the side of the road and be gone so fast. They risked being seen by taking the time to hide the bike and look around for other things dropped. And what would have scared her so bad with her being that close to her house that would have made her literally pick her own bike up and carry it into the corn field 3-4 rows back to hide. Dang she could have just dropped the bike and ran home or ran through the corn fields. Why lug a bicycle with her??? Quickest get away would be drop the bike and run especially if she thought someone was following her. I am thinking someone drunk or under the influence (maybe someone that lives very close by and even knows her) hit her and freaked out. Who knows, maybe they hid her too with the bike and sunglasses and came back under the cover of night to remove her and hide her somewhere else.

Speaking of which, it's my understanding that this missing girl was pretty scrappy and headstrong, so it seems that she would've almost had to be incapacitated in some way in order to get her into a vehicle and on down the road. I suppose aiming a gun at some people might get compliance, but it would only work with me until I was able to figure out a way to get it away from you and turn the tables.

A blow to the head, a stun gun, choking until unconscious.........I'm not sure what method may have been used to gain control over this girl. I think that's a big part of the reason why I think 2 perps may be involved. Also, it's not just getting her into the vehicle, it's keeping her there. If she was conscious and able to put up a fight, I think she would have made that drive pretty miserable for whoever was steering the vehicle. On the other hand, if there were two people involved, one of them could keep her under control while the other one was driving.

If her bike had been rammed by a vehicle and she was sent flying into a ditch injured, then that would also go a long ways in explaining how this could have been done. But from everything I've heard, the bicycle didn't sustain any damage.......at all. So we're basically left with a strong armed abduction in broad daylight of a totally healthy and athletic 20 year old woman.

I will be surprised if it was all that. There have been many reports suggesting the bike was not hit. I dont think she intentionally tried to lug her bikd into the corn, that doesnt make sense. From her boyfriends picture, it looks like she was riding on the side with traffic coming towards her. My guess is that a vehicle was coming too close to her, in order to make her steer off the road and into the corn. The aunt has stated that 3-4 rows is just off the road- just a coupe of feet. She probably "wrecked" into the corn. The person jumped out of the vehicle, tried to grab her, she started fighting, losing her sunglasses, and he unfortunately got her in (maybe knocking her out first), leaving her bike and glasses where they landed. I don't think it is a hiding of the items.

Yes, human trafficking is very bad in this area. Toledo is one of the worst spots and this is not too far from there.

I agree that it was a crime of opportunity. She's either nearby and incapacitated, or was taken somewhere in a vehicle. I'd say one perp too.

I found a few articles drscribing Ohio and Michigan ranking high on the list for human trafficking. However, it seems most are people or young kids were left home (runaways or homeless) and are coerced into the lifestyle. I just don't see taking a person off the street who isn't an obvious drug user, homeless, or "lost soul." If Sierah was abducted, there may be a sexual intent, but I don't think it was to enslave her. JMO

What if she was lured into the corn field? Lots of perps use a kitten or puppy to lure children into their vehicle. They could've hidden 3-4 rows in and made sounds like an injured animal. She may have driven off the road and into the edge of the cornfield, was grabbed and thrown in an approaching vehicle.

It's maddening how nonchalant and seemingly unconcerned these investigators can be sometimes. If this wasn't a kidnapping, then exactly what the hell is their theory !? Do they think she is playing hide and seek ? Medical emergency ? Drug overdose ? Lovers spat ?

This reminds me of all the times I've heard the phrase, "Nobody believes it could ever happen to them".

I had to go out and have come back to confusion! I mean wth? Seriously, suspicious but not runaway or kidnapped? IDK what is left either, alien abduction? I mean yeah I know it's a corn field but cmon. Wasn't it being treated as a kidnapping? What changed?

Find Sierah!

I'm wondering whether they have strong reason to believe she was killed right then and there where her bike was found, hence no kidnapping, but rather murder and hiding a body.

I'm still catching up on the thread, so excuse me if this has been disproved. I wonder if someone pulled over and asked her for directions or something. When she approached the vehicle, they threatened her with a gun or knife, and got her into their vehicle. I know from experience that this happens. I really hope she's alive! My guess is, if this is what happened, she has been taken far from the area.

The sheriff said there was evidence of a scuffle in the corn field where her bike was found. So at some point she definitely was in the cornfield. Whether she deliberately went in there to hide or was forced off the road and lost her balance or something, remains to be seen.

My guess is she was forced off the road by a vehicle, drove into the corn, and fell. The perp then ran after her, a struggle ensued, and he either killed her right away, incapaciated her and carried her to his vehicle, or forced her at gun or knife point to enter his vehicle. jmo
