It is unprecedented for the AG to be in town and have several of his people working this case.

I can only imagine what LE has discovered!

I had not read that he was actually in town. I thought it said briefed. Perhaps those from community know different though. I would think actually visiting the site would be unusual.

That can't be good!

It seems like there are quite a few of us in the general geographic area posting here. Sometimes it's hard to believe a monster like this can be in our own backyards. I couldn't get Sierah or her family and friends out of my mind all weekend. I had to ask my family members to keep me away from my phone/computer this weekend because I was just consumed. My brain gets very graphic sometimes. It's just terrible and it makes me physically sick. It's like I want to make sense of it, but it's so senseless. I struggle to find any sort of good in the situation, but if this guy is the monster we all fear him to be, I hope and pray that Sierah has stopped anyone else from being hurt by him. She will never be forgotten and while it is a terrible, awful message, we have all learned something from this.

Smalfry345, great post..and thanx for joining the forum. It is always helpful to have locals contribute to the threads. It is not uncommon for these monsters to hide in a community or small town's backyard. Predators have a chameleon-like ability to blend in with virtually any community, large or small, without detection. Many are very effective con-men.
Know what you mean about being consumed and asking family members to time out your pc/phone, and applaud your ability to do this. Many of us here at websleuth are consumed, yet in denial and do not ask our families for a reprieve. They offer this advice anyway.. I am confident that JDW has left many shattered lives in his wake. Guess, time will tell, huh?
I agree that JDW's trail of terror was likely brought to an abrupt halt due to the valiant actions by Sierah Joughin, that tragic day. She courageously sacrificed herself so that others may live...many others, imo.

Michigan/Ohio border has lost too many young people. My heart just pounds when I think about them and their loved ones. How do they disappear so easily these days?

Temps will be nearing 100 degrees this afternoon :-( A hard day for the searchers.

How do they disappear so easily these days? Spellbound, that is a great question. It is not only happening on the
Michigan/Ohio border, but in small towns all across the US and beyond. When a loved one goes missing and becomes a victim of this silent epidemic, their families, friends, and loved ones are involuntarily inducted into the fraternity of the new life's normal. A fraternity that grows each year, yet no one wants membership in. A fraternity member's life will never be the same as it was the day before their loved ones vanished..

Fortunately there are many professionals and volunteers that lend their full support to this fraternity.. Many, if not most are members of this involuntary fraternity

Just an FYI:

2016 is the second year without executions in Ohio, but death penalty foes won't claim victory yet...

http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2016/04/no_executions_in_ohio_in_2016.html

For a second-consecutive year, no executions will be carried out at the death chamber at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville. And while opponents of the death penalty aren't celebrating the demise of capital punishment yet, there is a sense that some opinions are changing.

<snipped - read more @ link>

So, I was tied up with legitimate work today, but two things - on which I hope Foxfire weighs ...

1) As most states are in precarious tax payment situations, does it really make much sense, from a strictly financial standpoint, to pursue a death penalty case? If they can prove that there's a circumstance that "enlarges" the case to the federal level where the death penalty still carries out on a occasion, that would make more sense to me. Otherwise, it's simply principle, and the ultimate punishment is the same: life without parole. No death penalty is ever carried out. Death penalty cases are expensive (not saying he doesn't certainly deserve it, speaking solely from a numbers standpoint).

2) Digging into my "psychological" file - moving with an assumption that JDW lies dormant for years after prison bids 1 & 2: does Sierah die because he felt emasculated when RG "got away?" What are the odds that this guy has had serious issues with women - beginning with his mother?

Honestly I was almost hoping it was a human trafficing case because then at least she could be recovered. :(.

Unfortunately, many women being trafficked aren't recovered ever (many remain as "missings") or are murdered. Because of this, just because her body was found doesn't mean it wasn't human trafficking. This guy may have been trying to abduct her and take her to sell her off into a larger ring.... but somehow that was foiled.
However, this was just an example of what sometimes happen with human trafficking. I do not believe Sierra's case is related to human trafficking. :(

I can only find on local sites that the AG was briefed. But listening to local news at noon they made it sound like he was in town. No link to newscast has been posted yet.

Well if you read about his previous attempted abduction he hit the girl on he bike gentilly then hand cuffed her so if he handcuffed her he would have been able to attach her to something and roll the bike back into the corn. Just a guess from his previous attempt :(

I saw a more distant photo on Twitter earlier today and was very sickened by the sight of all the coolers. What is up with those. Please tell me they are just for cold water for investigators and LE?

I don't either. This is some really messed up sicko guy that did this for his own disgusting pleasure. He has no heart at all. How can a person be so heartless?

I thought I heard it during the noon news, but I could be mistaken. I will edit my post unless I can find something otherwise. My apologies.

Even if they ARE water for the crews - maybe some forethought of "Property of FCSO" might have been in order ...

It has unbearably hot. People from all over the community have been dropping off coolers with ice and water since day one.

I have thought those same thoughts over and over. I have a feeling he was stalking her. But like you said how would he get so sloppy. I don't doubt that they will find other evidence on other people because a person dosnt just do this once and then quit for a few decades and do it again that is highly unlikely. I hope this resolves things for other families. As horrible as it sounds. But the less murderers in the world the better. <modsnip>

I can't think of any way that he pulled this attack on Sierah off unless he had stalked her. But, it hasn't been discussed, or maybe I missed it, whether she routinely rode her bike -- was it an activity she did regularly? Was it a routine time -- like every Tues and Thur she rode her bike to meet her boyfriend (example)? Or was he stalking not based on her routine, but rather actually a stake out and so he knew she had ridden her bike to somewhere that evening, and was waiting somewhere for whenever he could see her on her return route to home? I am trying to wrap my head around the timing of this. It seems so random from one lens, and from another lens, so calculated -- which we know sex offenders are.

IDK, maybe it's his standard. Maybe not, but I do know that he arrived and led/is leading the Pike County Ohio murders as well.

Just talked to a Fulton Co. Sheriff Deputy who says they never left Worley's home. Investigators have been here since Friday.

Not sure if this has been shared. I still don't know how to post directly from Twitter.

At noon news ch 13 had a live report showing all LE still there currently and still have the roads blocked off and still 5 CSI vehicles and State Attorney General Mike dewine is there offering all assistance I don't think that's normal protocol is it I really think they're findning a lot more there
What on Earth have they found on that property?! And roads are still closed? This is not good.

Several are brand new, still have the stickers on them. If they were coolers for evidence I would assume they would have writing on them. We send water samples to the lab in coolers. Ours are identified on all sides, with black sharpie. But who knows?

Good point. Hadn't thought they were a donation coolers, although that surprises me in that I thought the road was blocked off and there was an officer at the property not allowing people near the property. But I choose to go with donations. :/

And unfortunately, this is how the rumor mill gets to churning. I'm sure there are civilian employees around who could take care of that.

It's a pretty jarring picture, regardless :(

I think his 1990 case was a innocent random riding her bike. It was never presumed that he was stalking her. With SJ that's what made people think that he rode by on his motorcycle, per the finding of the motorcycle guy, and then went back with a vehicle.
