For them to actually have an aggravated murder charge.... Does that mean they have results from the autopsy on the actual cause of death? [emoji25]

In order to charge someone with any type of homicide there has to be a finding by the coroner that the death was the result of the actions of another. The prosecutor would not file charges of agg murder unless he has good enough evidence to take the case to trial and get a likely guilty verdict.

I do not recall anyone mentioning that he has a mental or physical disability.

If I recall from a previous discussion, "disability" refers to an impediment to legally owning a firearm. In Worley's case his impediment would be his previous felony convision. IMO and please, someone, correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the word "disabled" is being used in a way that, in modern times, we'd say "barred from" or "restricted" or "prohibited from"...

I can't find any evidence that JS is DP qualified.
There is no mention of DP qualification on his firms website.

Not that this means he is NOT DP qualified, but I think it's unlikely. Criminal Defense is listed 5th on his bio, out of 6 noted areas of practice.

I agree. That was the point I was trying to make, although you did so more eloquently.

Can anyone verify whether that defense atty is death penalty certified for OH?

In the preliminary stages of charging and indictment an attorney need not be death penalty qualified. And seeking the death penalty in a murder case isn't automatic. It's a choice made by the prosecutor in consultation with the victim's family. If this is prosecuted as a death penalty case there would likely be a change of attorney as it does not appear the court appointed had much experience in criminal trials.

Interesting...

"Mr. Shaffer has served as general counsel for Manufactured Housing Enterprises, Inc. for the past 25 years. The corporation is a leading builder of manufactured and modular homes."

Didn't the DEVIL do trucking for manufactured homes?? Also, Shaffer is Ce's family name. Her mom's maiden name is Shaffer. Agg murder slam dunk because committed during a kidnapping right off the bat.

I am no longer going to argue with anyone over riding ATV's. I'm just telling you what the kids I know do. I didn't mean they ruin peoples crops...they ride along side of the crops on the grass between the crops and the road. Good Lord..end that conversation!

From what I understand, YES. I'm not sure I have seen that in MSM, I am not 100% that is correct, but if so I am guessing that's how he knows JS. I wonder WHY though? How does a trucker come into contact with a corporate lawyer??

I'm also mortified at the idea of a possible serial killer driving around with a perfect crime scene attached to the back of his truck. The potential for moving victims across state lines is pretty high.

You guys have probably already questioned and looked into the part that is highlighted above. I've seen that stated in a couple of different articles, but have no idea what it means. Is Worley disabled ?? Since when is owning a gun when you are disabled considered a crime ? I'd think that disabled individuals would be even more in need of a way to defend themselves.

Somebody out there educate me.........please !
I know that if you If deemed Mentally disable you cannot own a firearm.

ETA. Just seen your post Elizabeth. That makes sense!

Did any of you follow the Samantha Koenig case? This is starting to remind me of the unfolding of Israel Keyes crimes. He turned out to be a serial killer too, no one had a clue who or what he was.

I've been lurking and following these threads since Sierah went missing. I'm from Fulton County, Ohio in Archbold, but I work in Toledo and drive past Evergreen High School on a daily basis. It has made me sick to my stomach to think that this monster was hidden among us all this time. My father is a farmer with cornfields outside of Archbold and he said that it never occurred to him that someone would even use the corn as a way to cover up murder. With the new aggravated murder charge, I'm wondering if they've found more remains on his property and are waiting for positive ids for more victims. To jashrema and all the other posters close to Sierah, I'm sorry for your loss and I hope that justice will be served for her.

HORRIFYING if the attorney defending the devil is related to Ce's mother.

The charge alleges that the murder took place ”with prior calculation and design.” A court complaint lists the date of the death from July 19-July 22.

Yes Know, prolific serial killer Israel Keys, has crossed my mind several times over the past few days. Sure hope they keep a close eye on James Dean Worley, so that he can't escape Justice as easily as Israel Keyes did. IK committed suicide while in an Anchorage Alaska holding cell while being interrogated by the FBI in an effort to identify his many unknown victims.

So then it is possible that he was stalking her/watching her and had been planning this out, which is indicative of serial killer behavior. Was it common for Ce and her boyfriend to ride during the summer? He could have had it planned down to the exact spot where he'd strike knowing there weren't homes around, or views would be obstructed by the corn fields being high.
