Is there a map available, showing where the released video came from, in relation to the house?

  • #2,622
Nope you sure don’t-odd to call 911 before checking the house
Do we know what time they called for wellness check / what time the dental office opens / what time the friend saw ST on the floor? I wonder if the dental staff called ST and MT and got no answer, then they waited to hear back for even around an hour (which would be long to me in a waiting room) and after radio silence it was urgent to them so they called police. @Tortoise, Sillybilly states that a Media , Maps and Timeline thread has been started. Perhaps check there. A link is included in Sillybillys thread.

Yes I couldn't see one there, unless it's embedded within any of the articles, but I haven't seen one linked.

One thing that is really telling to me is the dog. Almost any dog (especially a golden doodle!) is going to bark if someone enters the house late at night. Yet apparently they didn’t get out of bed to check. This says to me that either 1) they were used to someone coming and going (maybe a basement guest?) or 2) the perp was already inside the house, whether invited or not.

Ah, I see Gray Hughes has done a video on the location of the video camera. He's excellent with this kind of thing.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant a google maps link, not to the media maps & timeline thread. Sometimes one of our WS members will make a map with pinned locations.

I disagree and think it’s odd, and out of concern I would go check on them 1st before calling 911
Maybe they felt 911 could get there before anyone else could get there to check on them.

My concern is that they would have had carbon monoxide poisoning, if I could reach neither Spencer nor Monique at all. I'd be no help in that case and I'd most likely call 911 while making the commute over there.

Edit: Exactly @Covert Operative

I can think of lots of awful reasons for someone not to show up to work on time or answer the phone, but I can also think of lots of not so awful reasons -so unless I have some specific reason to think they are in danger I think it’s odd to not check on them 1st before calling 911

It's disheartening to see so much energy wasted on calling the coworkers strange for calling 911 so quickly rather than giving them the high praise they deserve. Their actions helped to get those children out of that house as quickly as possible.

Hindsight is 20/20-its odd to call 911 before going over to the house

Assumption on top of assumption on top of assumption. You have no idea if the dog barks or not and who heard what when.

Nope. The boss is on vacation in Florida. The coworkers are at the dental office in Athens over an hour's drive away. 911 was the quickest way to get someone to check on them.

This is very concerning considering the Police Chief said the 911 did not come from the Tepe's residence.
imo

At the end of the call the dispatcher tells the 911 woman on the phone "I have the info. here"
"1411 N 4th st."

Snip from an article showing the Tepe's address.

"Columbus police responded to 1411 N. 4th St. where they found Monique Tepe, 39, and Spencer Tepe, 37, dead at the residence. "

4:38

"Chief Elaine Bryant said that the caller was not Monique Tepe. Police have no history of calls from that address or related to the Tepes, Assistant Chief Greg Bodker said."

Confirming what most people already thought:

My emphasis.

In your opinion right-in mine it’s odd not to check the house before calling

In the professional world that's not how that works. If you work with clients and have a schedule, you show up, if you don't show up it's life or death. I understand some people have never had highly skilled white collar jobs that is front facing to clients, but this is how it works in all of them. So many of us that work in these types of jobs have explained this too many times. I get that you don't understand it, but I promise if my boss missed a meeting without calling me, and his wife/grown kids didn't answer I would be on the phone to the cops so fast.
