So he wasn’t practicing in Illinois but Las Vegas? I thought he owned a condo in Illinois. And practiced there…
Not sure 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm just stating what the Vegas lawsuit says but it definitely confuses things. It's possible he was traveling back and forth? The incident happened mid-2023 and lawsuit filed the end of 2024 so (jmo) maybe he moved sometime after the filing? I haven't found proof of an active Illinois license nor seen a screenshot to confirm but others reportedly have. The most recent evidence I could find of him working at a practice in Rockford, Illinois was May 2025 (found his name on a large group practice via the Wayback Machine).

Monique’s last thoughts may have been that he’d go kill the children next. Sickens me to realize that. :(

were they awake when he shot them?

Did MM claim the engagement ring as part of the marital assets or expenses? I thought an engagement ring was a gift from the groom and upon marriage was her property?
He listed them as separate property rather than marital assets. He listed prices (Engagement 2500 and wedding 3500) as well as the reason as "I paid"

I also would have thought she would have been able to retain them.

Betty where can I find bear spray? I’m going to add that to my scaredy-cat collection. It’s frightening to think about how a man’s strength and weight can quickly overpower a woman, preventing you from being able to do anything with your hands.
The reason I never carry a weapon, besides my car keys, is because I wouldn't want to have it taken from me and used on me.

I hope not, but we don't know. We may never know.
I was under the impression they were both found on the floor of their bedroom, which makes me think they were awake as they were not found laying in bed.. This is just my opinion.

That is so spoken of, even by LE at times. Be very prepared of how to use it, spray and anticipate. We don't want to be sitting ducks either. Keys between fingers firmly. Scream fire over and over and kick away, scrape at their shins hard with shoes and don't stop moving. Oh I hate them.

I just thought of one tiny speck of gold in this awful case. Larry the dog will probably now get to live with his brother/sister who was adopted from the same litter by BIL and Spencer's sister. I daresay they have had a few playdates over the years, and will enjoy living together.
Sadly, the brother in law posted that his dog (Larry’s brother) died a few years ago from cancer. But I’m sure they’ll give Larry a great home.

So the evidence of domestic violence in the marriage between MT and MM was there in the divorce case records all along? I hadn't seen any mention of this previously.

Case number: 17 DR 001691

[Edited to clarify: @legalmomma has explained this is a mandatory fee in Ohio divorces to fund shelters. Not indicative of domestic violence in the marriage]

I believe that is a small fee all parties pay, there are others. Not specific to this case.

Does that mean monique was in a shelter for abused women at some point
No, it is a mandatory small fee all parties pay. Nothing to do with her case at all.

I think the keypad to the alarm system can be seen in the wedding video. There is a blue light illuminated. Would that indicate it was active and monitored by a company? It doesn't mean they armed it that evening. Maybe the back door wasn't armed as they bypassed it because they let Larry out for potty breaks?
Spencer bought the house newly built so must have had it installed.

OMG!!! The dog can’t talk, please post link where the Police state that the dog was found beside the bed!
I believe the post and reports were that Spencer was found beside the bed.

Some dogs will just bark if you leave them outside at night. Which might have awakened the neighbors. So that might have been risky to let the dog out.

I don't know what happened with the dog. Maybe the dog barked and woke up the Tepes?
BIL claimed that dog slept in 4 yr olds room. Mooo.

I think surgeons, being such a specialized practice, can be on staff at different places and states as long as they're licensed. jmo

In the Gravest Extreme

I don''t necessarily agree with that first sentence but to each their own. I would recommend everyone read Massad Ayoob's book "In the Gravest Extreme: The Role of the Firearm in Personal Protection" (its on Amazon). It very logically and intelligently covers the roles of escalation and personal responsibility in crisis situations. I personally have been conceal carrying for decades but I recommend anyone that chooses to train regularly and mentally prepare for contingencies. It is very rare that one's firearm is used against them but with proper training, awareness etc. you can further mitigate that. Anyone that really wants to, can kill you in many ways and turn anything you have against you, If the intent is there they can just as easily stab you in the carotid artery with a pencil (Jon Wick pun aside it would be easier to do that than to unholster my sidearm and turn it against me).

Monique living her dream that Ex Could Not Give Her.

Further regarding this case, I see the term "grievance collector", etc. being used and it seems to fit the miserable case of McKee. As I posted a while back the Tepe's were starting a new positive chapter of their lives (bought house and married approx. 5 years ago, had beautiful kids 4, and 1). The resentment by a maniac whose life turned south could be to the trigger despite being divorced for that time. It may be that Monique wanted kids he could not give her or want while he was starting his medical career and now she had it all with Spencer, while McKee's boring life was unravelling. Mckee could not give her the life she wanted. They even had a 5 year anniversary planned this month.

Evidence showing McKee owned the car was uncovered by detectives, leading them to suspect Monique’s ex, according to the court documents.
FROM HERE
Interesting when you read this how LE released the video of the perp and probably knew exactly who did it. Makes me wonder what they were looking for? Did they receive more tips? I just have a feeling they were on to MM very soon after this happened. It's also interesting the wording "linked to a vehicle", makes me wonder if it was a rental car. Do we even know what he drives?

Is there a link that would indicate Monique kept in touch with McKee??

It was posited upthread as a possibility.

Such a short marriage, years ago and she had not only remarried but had children.

I would find it very odd if they kept in touch. MOO, IMO
