First thought is if they had a better picture LE would put it out there but maybe not. Maybe they know like you are saying and just waiting for a bit more evidence while they keep an eye on him.

Yep, that is where I am on this. Make it vague and long distance look (pants, hoodie, etc.) and see if anyone else captured the same person in the neighborhood that early morning. Gather all of the evidence you can without implicating one specific (knowable) person.

Has it been confirm that the video is of the POI GOING AWAY FROM the Tepe residence?

From what someone posted on the location of the camera, I thought the POI movement was TOWARDS the Tepes. So I am confused. Which is right?

Did you listen to the video interview? I just did, and the BIL does NOT make it seem like Spencer was in a relationship with someone else. He says Spencer and Monique threw lots of parties and that night they had other people over partying at the house. It was another party-goer having a temporary "freak out" and "mental health" issue after too much to drink. He said very convincinly that S & M were very happy together.

So they had friends over for parties all the time, and the 911-call was made by some other woman that was hanging out with them that night (at 2:45)?

This makes zero sense. Especially given the fact that, at this period in time, their 2nd child was just a few months old, practically a newborn. Partying with friends, drinking until the wee hours; possible yes, but highly unlikely.

LA Magazine reported that the POI was captured on video after the murders had occurred.

That's not what the LA Mag article reported or what this snippet says. Giacalone (who has no connection to the case) merely speculates about if the video had been captured after the murders. Based on the background of the video, the POI is walking southbound in the alley TOWARD the Tepe residence. I suppose that doesn't disprove the video was captured after the murders, but if this POI is the perpetrator, it seems unlikely he would be walking back toward the house after the murders occurred.

That could be. I’m sure I read that he was on the floor near the bed, though. So was there a confrontation? Or was Monique shot first, which then woke Spencer up, and half asleep, he's then got out of bed and was killed. Jmo.

There’s talks there were others (family member) living in the basement at the time of that call. Perhaps it was them?

I've found documented cases where people have inadvertently altered a crime scene, but I can find no case where someone has intentionally removed a weapon. That's just not how people behave, and if you listen to the 911 call, it's clear that the caller was a mess. Such a mess in fact that he was unwilling to get too close to ST's body, and doesn't appear to have seen the body of his wife.

In some alternate universe where that did happen, this person would have almost certainly fessed up to it by now.

Just because a weapon is missing though, police don't (or aren't supposed to), immediately determine a case to be straight up murder.

There's gunshot residue, wound bullet trajectory, blood spatter, autopsy findings, and scene reconstruction.

One of my areas of interest is the topic of crime scene tampering. It does exist and probably occurs more frequently than recognized. Especially in the case of domestic crimes and other situations.

I am making general comments, not about the Tepe murder.

In general, families altering a crime scene does happen, for example in the case of a female who has been SA and killed in a domestic crime. Especially in certain religious families.

They will remove or alter evidence of the SA, etc. as a way to prevent shame on the family, and to protect the victim and the perpetrators.

There is also something called "undoing" where the family is trying to psychologically reverse the crime in their minds.

So it can be a deliberate attempt to protect the family's reputation or a form of undoing.

I am not saying this is what happened in the Tepe case. To be honest I did not consider crime scene tampering until your comment.

If she was in bed, and he was on the floor, I’d imagine the 911 caller could have seen both and would’ve referenced that. He only mentioned seeing Spencer - which leads me to believe her body was not found near his. Same room, sure, but not visible from where Spencer was laying.

If she was in bed, and he was on the floor, I’d imagine the 911 caller could have seen both and would’ve referenced that. He only mentioned seeing Spencer - which leads me to believe her body was not found near his. Same room, sure, but not visible from where Spencer was laying.

He might have come up the stairs partially, enough to see Spencer and then went outside. She could have been in the bed, but notice clearly that he would see her.

If a friend or relative isn't working or works nights, I can understand them visiting with parents of an infant in the wee hours of the night, since infants may need feedings or not be sleeping through the night, or could be colicky. It's a way for new parents to not feel so isolated.

But the partying in the middle of the night with young kids is concerning to me - if it is true. Add in a possible argument call to 911. I get it. They are a younger couple, and stuff happens. Would not be a big deal if they hadn't ended up as the victims in a double homicide a few months later.

Yeh, that's where I am at and that is the calmest murderer leaving a crime scene I've ever witnessed.

Either A) a brilliant tactic to not attract attention, B) definitely not the murderer or C) the murderer going TOWARD their house before the murder.

MOO is that the voices are very similar... Moreso when Monique starts crying during her vows. Both voices raise to an almost childlike pitch while when emotional. To me the difference is the speech pattern on the 911 call seems less enunciated... Potentially due to impairment of some sort. The 'my man' is distorted... And i felt the caller wanted to say more toward the end. MOO
