Here's the entries on their divorce case which were made back in 2025, any lawyers around to give an opinion?

I’m not a lawyer, it looks to me like it was for a restraining order against him.

How would the ex possibly have known how to get into the house, where they'd be sleeping, if their dog wouldn't go apesht, if the husband had a bedside weapon, etc etc etc. Seems so incredibly risky.

That’s why it’s understandable people were getting frustrated with the BIL, and I still don’t agree with how he acted.

My suspicion is that dental office employees were aware of issues between the ex husband and the couple.

This explains the prompt response, and the boss’ extreme concern that Monique was not answering her phone.

I would guess that he was continuing to stalk and harass her to some degree. Spencer probably confided in some of his coworkers and they knew Monique had a “crazy ex” problem he was dealing with.

Maybe there was a restraining order opened which is what is showing up in the court records. They must have been scared. How terrifying and horrific.

When they were splitting up and she had to pay him approx 1000 bucks for some matrimonial debt, and she had a deadline or else she would have to pay interest… I thought that was petty. So who knows what he is like? Good lord he’s a surgeon, Im sure he’s not poor. So something is up with his personality, probably a control; freak.

Ex-husband charged with murder in deaths of Weinland Park couple​

The ex-husband of a woman found shot to death with her new husband Dec. 30 in Weinland Park has been charged with murder in the deaths.

Michael David McKee, 39, of Chicago, faces two counts of murder, according to Franklin County Municipal Court documents.

According to online court records, a warrant was issued Jan. 10 for McKee's arrest. Winnebago County (Illinois) Sheriff's Office records indicate he was booked into jail there shortly before noon. He will remain there until authorities extradite him back to Franklin County.

Monique Tepe, 39, and Spencer Tepe, 37, died on Dec. 30, just before their five-year wedding anniversary, after being found shot inside their home on the 1400 block of North 4th Street in Weinland Park.

His last address was in Cherry Valley, IL. Looks like he also lived and practiced medicine in Las Vegas. A few traffic tickets in the past, then one more recent driving with a suspended license in 2018. That's it.

They had a non traditional lock on the door - a digital one right? I use completely random passwords. Makes it harder for sure. I did not think they were killed in bed, so maybe a home alarm went off? Seems crazy to drive 5 1/2 hours to try passwords.

Just out of curiosity, but why do you reopen a divorce case from years past?

I answered it above - financial, alimony, retirement ($$) is probably the obvious answer we have the moment. Maybe he was just trying to make her life a living hell.

No, it’s very easy to override these locks. They also have override keys. All you require is a some wire or a magnet. I believe entry was through balcony door or basement windows.

Their address had a huge spike in google trending searches on 11/01/2025, this may have led to the viewing of the wedding video. It was definitely reconnaissance being done.

They were divorced in 2017. He completed his surgical residency in 2020…which was prob 3 yrs. So they were Married during med school. He prob went on to a fellowship…which in my child’s case was another 3 years. So he is just starting out but into the big paychecks now.

Was the reopening of this case about money?

why about money...in their marriage I assume she worked and so did he but not making much. Why would their even be alimony with no children?
