OH - Spencer and Monique Tepe found shot to death at home 2 children unharmed, Columbus, 30 December 2025 *ex-husband arrested*

One thing stood out to me while watching the Tepes' wedding vows, but was too ambiguous at the time to draw any conclusions from.

Monique got immediately emotional when discussing the path of bad relationships and dates she had to endure before finding Spencer. In hindsight, it seems very possible the trauma from her previous marriage - and not the string of crappy bumble dates - came back to her, and was what made it so difficult for her to find her voice at that moment. It sounded like a really rough road to finally reach happiness. Just so, so damn sad.
Bad bumble dates, a waterfall of tears… I heard that too, it stood out.

Maybe he was stalking monique , is that a restraining order listed

Makes sense now why protection officers were in place at other family members homes and possibly why the dental practice acted so quick and multiple friends arrived at the home with such urgency too
That was the detail for me that made the ex a compelling suspect from early on — the fact that reportedly two family members’ houses were being guarded. I could see guarding the house with the children as a matter of precaution. I couldn’t see the devotion of resources to all family members as a matter of course. And with it being only 2 family members, that’s certainly not all family members, so it was likely one side of the family. MOO that’s not just a precaution, they must have had a very specific reason for doing that. The killer being Monique’s ex and the protected family members being her sibling(s) and parents was the only circumstance that I could think of that would fit those facts.

(I still think the 911 response was normal.)

If you scroll to 2020 graduates you’ll find MM and his three co residents.

I believe general surgery is a 5 year program which would mean they got married and divorced right when he was in the thick of it. Sounds really stressful for both of them. They probably didn’t spend much time together. I wonder how long they were together prior to getting married. Maybe met when he was in medical school or earlier?

Unbelievable tragedy. I suspect he was an abusive, controlling narcissist who wanted to make her life a living hell. It sickens me that ppl like this even exist.

HGH, which imo someone approaching 40 with a medical background might be interested in supplementing, can cause facial growth.

Hgh risks

TBH the truth about this case makes it even sadder. There were no secret affairs or illicit debts. They were just as perfect as they appeared, and it was all taken away by an angry, jealous ex.

If anyone has ever seen the movie In the Bedroom, it gives me shades of that (great film).

Yes the state of Ohio has the death penalty.

My thinking is that when the murder charge is upgraded to aggravated murder, the county prosecutor will likely seek the death penalty specification for the aggravated murder charge.

In Ohio when a person is charged with aggravated murder with death penalty specification, and if convicted by a jury of that charge, the convicted person can either receive the death penalty or life without parole.

By seeking the death penalty specification on the aggravated murder charge, it ensures that whoever is convicted on that charge will never ever be released from prison and see the light of day again as a free person.
Yes I think this is exactly what is going to happen. And this man should take the deal. And save the family a great deal of heartache and pain going through a trial. And the people of Ohio won't have to pay for a high profile expensive trial.

This man was not as smart as he thought he was.

Was the Youtube video thing real? Was it him watching?
That'll come down to digital forensics on his devices, which will likely take some time. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was him.

These days you cant outsmart all the digital forensics , cameras are everywhere, plate readers, location tracking, geo fencing, cell phone extractors , there’s too much out there now.

They were at OSU together, dated, and hung with another couple also at OSU that have many pictures posted on facebook of the 4 of them, from 2012 through to wedding pictures in 2015.

No. Seems more an unhinged ex which is strange give the lapsed time. I would think something recent in his life re-focused his rage/resentment towards his ex, but have no idea if this came out of nowhere, for all we know there could have been some recent contact w/ Monique and she told him to pound sand. He did have malpractice suit in the practice he was part of in Las Vegas. Again, there could be so many more behind the scenes details. I did not see the crime scene but I am a bit surprised by the one shot center mass to his ex-wife if this was such a pent up rage. But seems like a desperate f-up of a man.

He was taken in to custody in Rockford, IL, which is near the Wisconsin border, per the Columbus PD. Not sure his connection to that area but I did see that he had an active license in that city at one point, not sure if current (edited - looks like he used to work at a large cardiovascular practice in Rockford, not sure if he was still employed there at the time of his arrest though)

If he took a bike like Luigi he might have gotten away with it. It was him walking to his car w/ his plates on it, on surveillance that I read tied him to the crime.I don't think he seemed to care that much.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the police weren’t doing a press conference to allow all the debate about the 911 calls, keep the heat off the real suspect while they did their work, It was a good distraction.
I know community safety is a priority but I didnt really feel like there was much fear, all the chatter about “ it was targeted” was enough to relieve some fear maybe?
