OH - Spencer and Monique Tepe found shot to death at home 2 children unharmed, Columbus, 30 December 2025 *ex-husband arrested*

Why would he plead guilty at an extradition arraignment? He will also plead not guilty at his initial arraignment in Franklin County. People plead not guilty to preserve their rights, review the evidence against them, challenge the prosecution, and position themselves for a better plea bargain. Everyone should initially plead not guilty.
okay that makes sense.

Its unsettling to think that she could have been laying there alive for any amount of time, after she was shot, until she died, suffering. Knowing her husband was gone, and kids int he other room. A shot to the side could have missed her heart but got at another organ or her lungs.
Surgeons are trained to be meticulous about details. And he knew exactly where to shoot her to achieve his goals. Unless ST waking up and getting out of bed interfered with the plan.

And of course if a killer is doing drugs, they are impaired and cannot always carry out their plans.

Ok guys, sorry, I’m lost again in the details, help please. Am I reading that recently, June, the old divorce was reopened? Was this a trigger? Thank you everybody.
I think since it was him that opened it and if the Tepes completely ignored him that may have taken him from obsessed ex to homicidal ex

given the intensity of this crime and the hatred for Spencer by Mckee I am thinking that maybe she met Spencer early on in the marriage and there was a relationship there long before the divorce. They all have the common University and I think so much more will come out about the lead up to this brutal murder. I don't think he just set out one day to drive that distance without other encounters with Mo prior to that date. I am still trying to process that he will plead "not guilty"?

the thing that concerns me is people are setting this couple up as saints and we don't know much about them. We know nothing about Monique and what happened during her marriage with McKee. Absolutely nothing justifies what happened but I sure what to know the whole story, What prompted this extreme anger. When did the relationship with Spencer begin. Did Spencer and McKee know each other back in college? I think there is just so much more to know. I am still bothered by that 911 call from that address in April.
From 2016. Im not 100% sure what she means when she says never going back? To Columbus? Or where she was living at the time?

And, even if they do admit guilt, the prosecution STILL has to present the evidence and the judge cannot simply accept a guilty plea without proof it is true. This case has a ways to go.

This is very important point that I think a lot of people aren't aware of.

again so many stories out there with few facts. Most are saying that was routine maintenance of files and nothing that either party would have to do anything.

And, imo, he knew it was possible the kids would see their parents. That he didn't kill them is something we're all grateful for, but he did not show them any kindness (understatement, of course). He knew the scene he left behind.

Right apparently in Ohio divorces are brought up again re: child issues (support etc) 8 yrs after the divorce.. But there was an appearing in 9/2025. So did she attend and why was there a court date?

I can’t imagine a startling salary for a new Doctor-general surgery-over 300K. When she was working 30 years and worked up to 300K

AI Overview

A general surgery starting salary is strong and varies by location and practice type, generally ranging from the
low $300,000s to over $400,000 annually, with some rural or high-demand acute care positions reaching even higher for new graduates. For example, new grads in rural areas might start around $425k+, while some academic acute care roles offer over $400k for 14-22 weeks of work, with lower figures sometimes seen in big cities or academic centers.

This isn't my thinking at all. I'm more focused on the location of the GSWs, which would incapacitate them almost immediately. Chest wounds don't do that.
Yes I agree, given the killer was a surgeon, and most likely detail oriented, the location of the GSWs will tell the tale.

If the chest wounds were deliberate, you are saying he didn't want immediate death. Which fits my ideas about face to face interaction with killer and victim, it is done for specific reasons.

Of course. And as I keep saying he put the children in danger on a number of levels. He had no idea when they would be found. Leaving such young children unattended for any length of time can put them at risk.

Well if you have your own practice (Rent, paying your own malpractice, employee salary) it’s a bit different. You can cut that in half with expenses of running a practice.

Working under a corporation that buys you out, you are just a salaried employee. They pay your malpractice which for GYN’s as an example can be close to in the hundred thousands. Sometimes making 200K as a salary is better than 300-400 on your own. My GYN sold his practice in 1998 bc his malpractice was up to 150K at the time.

Yes but in private practice you don't have the hospital or clinic taking a big chunk of your revenue.

See that little globe, that means all can see, you can set a lot to private. There really isnt much there and stops in 2017 or I cant see any of it anyway.

i'd have to go back and listen to it but I believe they stated the address from which the call was made.
We know very little but we do know about the wedding video, the 911 call, the neighborhood attempted break-in, the divorce, the lawsuit....and people are trying to connect them all when perhaps none of them are connected to the murder.

For all we know some other trigger incited him that we don't know about yet. Maybe when she left him he vowed to hunt her down just when she was at her happiest, for example.

We don't know if he's been taunting her for years or if this came out of the blue.

Check out what malpractice insurance Is for OB/GYN’s. It will shock you.

I am sure family ID'd him in the video right from the start. Not sure where he was for those days before arrest. LE was silent so we could think they were not on to him. They did interview and he had alibi which then did not pan out. Lied t o LE.
Didn't matter if he lied or not. It sounds like they had him nailed with the video and car license plates, etc.

I assure you these figures will not shock me.

You may want to check out how much revenue hospitals rake in. And how much the non clinical upper level managers make. It will shock you.

One of the reasons many health care professionals don't go into private practice is they are unable to run a business and they don't want to mess with the business end of things.

I believe he got to keep the house in the divorce. I wonder if he continued to live there thru out the residency and just sold it in order to buy the condo. It would surely have appreciated. Maybe M felt she was entitled to part of the sales price?
I do remember it was a simple settlement and only noted he kept the house in Va. Maybe something to do with that?
