Interesting, how do they know he "displayed or brandished" a firearm, there are four charges for use and one for the display?
I believe that’s the charge for whether you use the firearm or simply brandish it. Obviously, the state’s position is he fired the gun so by definition he used it. The charge is more about the fact that he used a silencer than brandishing a gun. What a monster.

As far as motive, it could be something as simple as “I was adopted, my birth mother didn’t want me and tossed me away, and now Monique did the same thing — I won’t let it happen again without getting revenge”

Don’t try to assign logic or rational to his motive. He is a psychopathic killer, not a healthy sane individual, clearly, based on what he did.

yes they had a dating history (not sure of how long) and to be honest I think she thought she had a good catch. Handsome back then...football player and then on the road to becoming a successful doctor. Something must have really changed after they got married.
His true colors came out IMO.

I didn't know that there was such a thing as prisoner private transport. I can see the necessity after watching the video of Gannon's killer attacking the law enforcement officers in a moving car on their way back to Colorado.

Does it have to do with it being a transfer to another state? And is it up to Ohio to bring him back/ make arrangements? I wouldnt want to drive that van.

Here's what I just found out from Google AI after searching about medical chaperone in Illinois concerning MM'S medical license.

Illinois - When Medical Chaperone Are Required:

Mandatory Disciplinary Orders- If a physician is charged with a sex offense, criminal battery against a patient, or a forcible felony.

And it says that the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) can issue a chaperone order, forcing a physician to use one or to stop practicing.

Now here is the interesting part about emergency suspension of medical license in Illinois.

Illinois - Emergency Suspension of Medical License

An Illinois medical license can be emergency suspended by IDFPR if a physician poses an immediate danger to public health and safety requiring swift action before a full hearing.

Danger To Public - substance abuse while practicing, patient abuse, and reckless treatment.

Unprofessional Conduct - dishonorable, unethical, or fraudulent behavior.

Impairment - verified mental or physical impairment preventing safe practice.

I'm thinking wouldn't it be better to have MM'S Illinois medical license be under Emergency Suspension than under Chaperone Required?

Not only would the criminal charges MM is currently facing be considered a forcible felony, you would think that double aggravated murder is unprofessional conduct and a danger to public.

I wonder if MM'S medical license in California and Nevada is now under any kind of emergency suspension as well.

Well, he is “the accused”, not “the convicted” one. So they are right that they minimalized it. If he is a hired doctor, I don’t know how they will deal with the financial part, but it is up to them. I think in essence, it may be irrelevant.

Just a guess on my part but I'm thinking when they found they gun they think he used and it had a silencer on it. That coupled with neither neighbors hearing anything, and nothing pickup up on any audio LE likely got their hands on. ALL JMO and a guess on my part.
A lot of people have Amazon Echos and the like, pretty sure they capture audio.

I think he did not fit into the world because of his introversion, but he explained it by “being adopted”. I do believe that such kids should spend more time socializing (I’d drop football in favor of social therapy), but in general, his parents only knew that much. If the schoolteachers said “he was OK”, they probably thought he was. But early intervention could have made the difference.

I feel sorry for his parents. They gave him the best future they could.

Playing a team sport and being good at it is probably just about the best social head start you can get. He must have been really screwed but because he was by all accounts a very good football player.

IIRC his attorney in Illinois said he planned to represent himself in Ohio.
Well, we all know how that usually ends. MOO

If they had a Ring doorbell they might’ve had a Ring indoor camera as well. We were just looking at the new Ring home security systems at Costco and it comes with 3 motion activated cameras. Two outdoor and one indoor.

Handsome and succesfull people can be abusers too, without any real change in their lives.
