I agree. I can't believe he hasn't stepped down yet. The same thing goes for the DA in this town, JH. These people have done nothing but fail at their jobs regarding this case. The thing that infuriates me the most is the sheriff threatening Anonymous. How about going after the people who covered up the rape of a child in your town instead? Call me crazy, but to me, that seems to be the most pressing issue here.

I also can't believe the town set up a website to fight Anonymous. Yeah, good luck with that, Steubenville.

The attorney for MN also makes me ill with the comments about how the social media postings, including the video, were taken out of context. In what context should these things be considered? What parts were taken out of context-the discussion of a girl being raped? The admittance by MN of being involved in that rape? The joking about a dead Caylee Anthony? Yeah, dead two year olds are just hilarious. :banghead:

Is it true that the FBI are now involved? I read something about this on Knightsec's Twitter page, but haven't seen any confirmation of it yet.

I asked why the kidnapping charges were dropped. Abdalla said that was decided in the courtoom back in August - (or October) when they presented evidence and questioned people and the judge (I guess) decided to withdraw the kidnapping charges. He never answered about why it was moved back to juvenile court though.

This whole thing STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN!!!!!

I can't believe this sheriff is going on internet radio talking about an on-going investigation. VERY VERY unprofessional - and, I think, he's gonna be back on tomorrow night too.

JMHO

I'm finding this all very odd although I am not as informed as most of you here. Not only is it odd that the sheriff is going on blog talk radio at this point, but the host over there is also having some ego fight with Anonymous on his blog of the same name.

It looks as though Steubenville, OH will never be the same; nor should it be.

Can the OP or anyone else point me to where he admitted his involvement in the rape? I saw the video, but didn't hear anything in there where he admitted being personally involved -- although a lot of it was kind of hard for me to hear. I did notice, though, that the title of the vid I watched had "confess" in it. Is that where the bold is coming from, or is there something else? TIA :

I have now watched several videos of Sheriff Abdalla's attempts to control public opinion and what I see is a big, not too bright, politically connected fish from a *very* small pond who is used to getting his way. He simply has no idea of the size of the ocean that he's swimming in these days. Someone that has some influence over him needs to tell him to disappear from the airways and stfu. But maybe whoever that is hasn't themselves realized their usual tactics don't work on people that don't live in their tadpole sized kingdom...

I am so glad to see so many people attending the protests and reading that people from many foreign countries were viewing it online. Steubenville will be held accountable now, I am certain, too many eyes are watching that give a damn!

I'm pretty peed off about the dropping of the kidnapping charges. The photos clearly show a comatose victim being carried by her arms and legs. How on earth could you describe this as being willingly traveling to the other parties, FGS?:banghead:

I was so angry last night when I heard the attorney for one of the rapists state that the alleged victim had texted one of the boys and said" I know you didn't rape me!". He thinks that is proof that his client did not rape her. Really? I'm reading it as an outraged "I KNOW THAT YOU DID NOT RAPE ME!!!!!" Like, "Tell me you did not just say that", kinda statement. She was not saying that he did not rape her, she was expressing her shock and outrage that he had raped her. What a suckie defense. :banghead: The attorney is the one taking things out of context.

I almost blew a gasket, metaphorically, watching that interview. I actually had to change the channel because I couldn't stomach listening to him for one more second.

From what I've read the victim lived on the border of Ohio in W.Va and was picked up @ her friend's house to be taken to a party. Wonder if the friend lived in W.Va too? If so, that might meet the federal law quoted below. Has anyone read anything related to this? Hmmm, maybe this is why the kidnapping charges needed to be dismissed...

In addition, 18 U.S.C. §§ 2421 – 2423 criminalize a variety of activities pertaining to the prostitution of children. For example, Section 2421 and 2423(a) make it a crime to transport an adult or a minor across state lines for the purpose of prostitution or any other illegal sexual activity. Unlike 18 U.S.C. § 1591, both of those statutes do require proof that the victim crossed a state line. If a minor is transported across state lines, the penalty is not less than 10 years in prison, up to life.

Maybe I missed this earlier... but the party that night was held at at least two Assistant Coaches homes?? Adults were the ones actually throwing this house-to-house party for these kids? Minors actively and knowingly participating in drugs, alcohol consumption, and sex? An assistant coach, whose house was one of the stops, actually seen how bad of shape this girl was in and didn't call police that instant? Instead, allowing the boys to carry her off to the next house?

And why are these two adult men not charged with crimes??? This just gets worse and worse. My God!

Amazing... Isn't it.. That even in the pretty thorough Dec. 16th article... The names of the Assistant coaches who hosted the parties, complete with alcohol and drugs, weren't reported....? :furious:

Listen again towards the beginning-his comments regarding the anal rape of the "dead" (drugged unconscious) girl. He also twittered that he anally raped her and she didnt react.

It was essentially the same statement he spoke on the video. imo. It isnt hard to find his tweets-I am not going to copy paste them here because of content.

I get that LE doesnt want to be painted with a broad brush and I get that any and likely all of their unrecognized good work is being set aside at this moment.

But come on. The sheriff, whose jurisdiction covers this case, saw MN's video 3 days ago? Either he is lying or it was a serious mistake on his part. I am still confused by his assertions that the possible second victim recanted...it couldnt have been this victim because she didnt know she had been raped. How could the second victim have recanted her claims when they were brought to the attention of LE on Monday?

He saw the video 3 days ago and didnt deem it worthy of any charges. Really? It doesnt seem to be a free speech issue which is the excuse that is being given over and over. It is a crime not to have reported this crime, it is a crime to have tweeted/videoed/photographed and distributed the details and the pictures. They were drunk and they were underage-where did they get the drugs and the booze?

That is where the lawsuit is folks. The parents. The houses where the kids were drinking and doing drugs. The vehicles and the homes where this child was taken and raped.

I wonder if anyone is interested in looking at the role these parents played here? If your underage little darling was drinking your booze and popping your pills and raping a child at your house, what is your criminal and civil liability?
