Did Admin ask us not to link it or is there a question regarding it's authenticity?

Someone said the victims name was not reacted and that would def violate TOS. I haven't read it though so not sure.

I don't know that it has been linked.

I found it via Google...

Second result in my search.

I found it using the key words supplied in another post and found it. I just wish I could download lit to read at my leisure since it's a couple hundred of pages long.

I found it hosted at Scribd with a download link there. Also, please note there is an extensive index with page references for keywords and names.

k:what: IMO- this is jaw-dropping wow.

The January 24th post at http://steubenvillefacts.squarespace.com/ sponsored by the City of Steubenville and the Steubenville Police Department states

"since this site is dedicated to controlling the rampant spread of rumors and inaccurate information about this case, we will link to other sites that seek to do the same. One such site (links to Stranahan in Exhile)...

The municipally authored and hosted website Steubenville Facts offers to post links to other sites "attempting to use publicly available facts to shed light on this case", but in the four days since the post was published, only Stranahan's blog has been linked.

Meanwhile, I've been waiting over 24 hrs for Stranahan to approve my short comment askng him to clarify if his blog is meant to be opinion or news:
"Are the posts on the wordpress blog meant to be journalistic hard-news, or the author’s opinion?"

I'm surprised that the Steubenille Facts doesn't link to Alexandria Goddard or the New York Times, since both sources inarguably present facts relevant to the case.

Maybe Steubenville PD needs to have a chat with Dallas PD to see who they're climbing into bed with. They are not linking to Goddard, the Plain Dealer or the NYT because Stranahan is making them all out to be evil forces at work tearing down either the whole town and/or Big Red - everyone lied and has an agenda but himself. He's simply using them and this story to gain some foothold in MSM that might bring a paycheck, but I can't see that working - people in the business know what this guy is or can find out easily enough. He'll string the town along feeding them what they want to see for awhile, but eventually he'll move on if his pockets aren't fed.

For this latest trip he begged for airfare on twitter, then once he was in town continued begging for rides, dinners, etc. Ended up at the Spot bar but doesn't say who paid for his beer, LOL. And the town's defenders see him as the only real "journalist" covering this story - and an unbiased one at that? Yep, pretty jaw dropping to see...and disgusting.

WTtOV9 TV News

"Judge Thomas Lipps ruled early Wednesday to continue the trial of two Steubenville High School student-athletes who are charged with raping another teen."

- The judge moved the start of the trial to March 13. It is expected to last through March 15.

- The judge further ruled that the trial denied defense attorneys' motions for a change of venue.

- The judge is allowing for the media and public to be present in the courtroom.

- A motion filed by defense attorney Walter Madison to refer to the teenage girl as "the accuser" in this case was also denied.

Here's my favorite, the state pays for a PI for the defense. There's no money to put armed guards in schools but there's always money for criminals, this country is unbelievable.

Yep, and what kind of investigation do you think the defense has in mind? Pathetic. I can only hope the judge is well versed in Ohio's rape shield laws....

BBM I can only hope the judge is well versed in Ohio's "innocent till proven guilty" laws as well. Not saying they aren't or may not be found guilty, but why don't we wait till the trials over before we call them criminals and sentence them.

I don't know why you connect my concern over the application of rape shield law with "innocent until proven guilty". Whether they're found guilty or not guilty, the law says she is entitled to those protections during the trial.

I can understand the judge allowing media, for transparency, but the public? Jmo this is a scary a$$ community (not all). The bullies and intimidators will be taking up every seat in court. It wouldn't surprise me if some wore their big red fan gear. Jmo

Presumption of innocence is for the jury and only the jury. It doesn't apply here.

You've been there? I've been visiting there since I before I could walk, even in the crappy downtown area. Never been remotely afraid of any person wearing Big Red gear.

Scary as in scary skewed morals.
I also put not all. My impression is there is a handful of people that will do their best to keep the 'football players can do no wrong' tradition going. And I do believe they will be there, at the trial, to try to intimidate.
And I don't believe I have been there, but i could have been for a tournament when I was younger. I didnt really pay attention to what cities i traveled to when i played. But I do have friends from Steubenville, and they are not the scary people. Jmo

Basketball tourneys at St. John's Arena - that's exactly what my early memories of Steubenville involve. SJA custodial staff once expressed a desire to kill my father, but that was just a confetti-misunderstanding.

I used to go to steubenville as a teenager as there is a huge catholic teen retreat there every year. Kids from all over the country would bus in. Lots of Canadian kids too.
