GUILTY OH - Summer Inman, 25, abducted & murdered, Logan, 22 March 2011

  • #221
I wonder which WI went to change the tires. I'm seeing conflicting reports. In any event, would it have been possible for them to stop at home and then 1 or 2 people take the car to the salvage yard and have one of the other WI's go back in another vehicle to purchase the tires back?

I believe it was the elder WI that changed the tires; and I may be mistaken, but according to the newest article, surveillance tape at a car wash shows all three Inmans. They were likely all there while changing tires as well.

I started a Scanner Thread for Summer here.

We are not allowed to discuss scanner topics on the main thread, but, my post above is from the Hocking County Sheriff Department's FB Wall, so, hopefully it is okay.

Can anyone listen to the Scanner thread, and post the updates here?

You must be a member of Websleuths to get downstairs, so, for the 15 Guests on right now, it is a good time to sign up!

If WI2 went back and purchased them, I wonder where they are? I think they had the best possible scenario going...to have someone else dispose of the tires for them. Four tires and rims would have been heavy and cumbersome and it would have drawn notice for the same guy who sold the tires to come back and buy them back. I'm sure they could explain it away, but it certainly would have jogged the scrap yard guy's memory. Did the Inmans have a pickup truck?

I suppose they could have roled them into the water somewhere, but this tire thing sure seems like a lot of effort just to disguise tread. Crown Vics are very popular fleet vehicles. I can only agree with cocomod and the possibility of blood/DNA being on those tires. But then---what about the undercarriage? Jiminy. None of this makes a lot of sense. If they ran over Summer, there'd be hair and skin and maybe blood under the car and some parts. I guess I'll stick with my original theory which is that they must have driven through mud or sand or something that left distinct impressions, enough that someone was all "Wow, ya think..." and too long to erase.

Ditching tires and not the car makes me think nothing bad happened to Summer (outside the obvious) in the car. No major struggle or injury. She was likely killed outside somewhere. B as long as there's no real evidence of foul play resulting in death, there is that eentsy-weentsy part of me that wants to say "They only worried about the tires and not the car because they just wanted to cover their tracks. Summer's not dead, just undergoing brainwashing by some fruitloop they met on FB."

In the latest article, it says that they may have stopped at as many as 3 car washes. That just makes me sick! It gives me a little less hope that she was just dropped off somewhere for "deprogramming". :(

Thank-you for posting, RBRNMW2.

This is especially important to me, because William A. Inman specifically mentions pregnant Amish women who were with them when their RV crashed, in the letter from his website that I posted up thread.

I am going to try to delicately put this out there for motive. Some might think that Willie's parents were mad at Summer for leaving their son, but, I am wondering if William Sr. might have had an interest in Summer himself?

It wouldn't be the first time a subservient wife may have went along with something like that.

Working on Sandra Inman to talk is LE's best bet, I am thinking.

I am in complete agreement. I have been thinking along these exact same lines. It is said that when Susan Powell disappeared, her father-in-law had some not-so-polite feelings towards her. I think as uncivilized as it sounds, he very well could have wanted her too. That is the biggest motive I can find for the parents going into this all-hearted as well. Grandkids are part of the motive, but possibly the "romance" from the FIL is there as well.

I wonder if Summer knew this and was creeped out by it. It could have had a hand in ending her marriage - especially if her ex-husband didn't stand up to daddy and tell him to leave his wife alone.

Anyway...the tires... Are there any areas around that might have a distinctive type of dirt or terrain they'd be worried about the tires having traces of? Maybe swampy areas, sandy areas? Something that isn't the usual type of dirt you'd find on a tire?

I believe that there still are some underground coal mines and above ground strip mines in Southeastern Ohio. It is possible that there could be coal dust on the tires if they went anywhere near a coal mine.

http://www2.nbc4i.com/news/2011/mar/29/police-trace-path-suspects-womans-kidnapping-ar-437498/

Police said the Inmans stopped at the Blu Sonic Car Wash on Orchardview Avenue in Seven Hills at about 7:32 a.m. on March 23.

Surveillance video from the car wash shows the Inmans appearing to clean out and vacuum the interior of their white-colored Ford Crown Victoria.

Police said there is no sign of Summer during the video.

According to police, the elder Inman is observed removing a police spotlight from the driver's side of the vehicle and taking the temporary license plate from the front window area and attaching it to the rear bumper of the vehicle.

This info is making me sick. :(

Family Suspected in Logan Mom's Disappearance 'Controlling' 'Scary'

]Investigators said that they have information that the Inmans may have stopped at two other car washes in the McConnelsville are after leaving Logan. More people were speaking out about what they called an attempt to make the women in the family subservient.

Neighbors and former friends said the Inman family was one that was ruled by William Inman, calling him "hyper," "controlling" and "scary," McEntyre reported.

Neighbors said Sandra and Summer Inman were rarely seen outside of the home, and when they were, they were both dressed entirely in black.

A close friend said it became clear to her "that the men had taken over the women" in the family.

Those who knew them said William A. Inman considered himself a religious leader and conducted church services in an outbuilding at their home.

Neighbors said he would often go door-to-door, soliciting donations for what he called "Mercy Ranch," a plan to turn his home into a place for the wayward and homeless.

Here is a picture of the vehicle at the Carwash. 2 more pics at the link, including Willie Jr. putting $$ in the vacuuum machine (I think it's him). The trunk is open in the other picture. :(

Can a local tell us if the Carwash indicated in the News Release is this one?

Also worth noting here, is the lack of "flashy" rims on the tires, as might have been offered as an excuse for changing the tires.

One other thing I am wondering about, is this police light that William A. Inman Sr. removed from the vehicle in the video at the Carwash.

Why remove the light at that time? Was the light on the outside of the vehicle? Is it the flashing lights on the top of a cruiser, that they are referring to here?

Was there a reason why the Inman's had a Crown Vic., that was likely a car used by LE at some point?

Did Sr. like to "pose" as a police officer?

The whole thing reeks.

I'm way late to the game with this case but was wondering if someone could tell me where Summer's children are at now that the husband and his family have been arrested? TIA.

Okay, this is the house that the Inman's moved into in the Summer of 2010... http://www.cutlerhomes.com/p/259/3209143

Ona side note, it is sad...there are photos of what are obviously the children's beds and toys.

It matches with the shot of the home from this news video... http://www.fox8.com/news/wjw-summer-inman-disappearance-three-arrested.txt,0,2578310.story

Interesting that it has been on the market for 18 days and the price dropped $10000 on 3/26 (I assume, since it is now connected to a kidnapping).

According to the tax records, there was a new mortgage on Jul 19, 2010, which would coinscide with the Inman's moving in. If that is the case, then who the heck is the person listed as the owner? http://fiscalweb.summitoh.net/clt/refintg3.main

I think the Inmans are/were renting this home since it is listed under an owner with a different name. Unless one of them has an alias (which wouldn't really surprise me, actually).

What is Sandra Inman's maiden name? Maybe her father owns this property?

I believe reports have said the children are with Summer's parents. Sorry I don't have a link handy, but that is what I've heard.

Investigators have also learned that the Inmans may have stopped at two separate car washes in the McConnelsville area after leaving Logan and prior to their arrival at the Blu Sonic in Seven Hills. Video from those locations is being reviewed and pertinent information will be released to the public.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hocking-County-Sheriffs-Office/154334221254778?ref=ts

So, for the timeline, I have this so far:

11 pm - Summer is forced into a White Crown Victoria in Logan

Apx. 12 am (+) to (-) 5 a.m. - Inman's are recorded on video at 2 separate Car Washes near McConellsville, which is approximately 1 hour or 42 miles from Logan (as per Google Maps). The video here would be taken in the dark.

7:23 a.m. - Seven Hills, OH (Just south of Cleveland), the Inmans are seen at a 3rd Car Wash, Blu Sonic Car Wash.

Map of 3 Locations with Driving Directions:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Logan,+OH&daddr=McConnelsville,+OH,+United+States+to:Cleveland,+Cuyahoga,+Ohio&hl=en&geocode=FWNVWwIdRZEW-ynF9NkuV-5HiDHEJP6RoMMUMg%3BFar9XAId-QQf-yk_1-Fe6ds3iDHk_Co7IeaeMg%3BFWc7eQIdT20h-ykta2jjLu8wiDFCGGL3VcsE7Q&mra=pd&sll=40.580646,-81.969095&sspn=3.579209,10.777588&ie=UTF8&ll=40.522151,-81.89209&spn=3.582332,10.777588&t=h&z=7

10:00 to 11:00 a.m. - Inman's stopped at Pearl Road Auto Wrecking in Cleaveland, OH and sold tires.

11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm apx. - Inman's remained at Pearl Road Auto Wrecking to install new tires.

Points:

-What did the Inman's do between 7:23 am and 10:00 am in Cleveland? Maybe there is video from other businesses.

-The tires and rims in the picture upthread are actually the OLD tires.

-The timeline is narrowed considerably, depending on whether Summer is actually in the videos of the 2 other Car Washes.

-Right now, we know that a possible location for Summer is narrowed down to a driving radius of either 11:15 pm to 5:00 am or 11:15 pm to the time of the video at the 2 other Car washes where Summer is NOT on video. Only LE knows whether Summer was spotted in McConnelsville on video at this time.

Combined with the cell ping and other info that LE has, they should be narrowing the geography considerably. Go LE.

FBI says tires could be key to finding missing woman
Summer Inman from Logan, Ohio, hasn't been seen or heard from since last Tuesday.
Her estranged husband, William Inman II, and his parents William and Sandra Inman are behind bars for her kidnapping. The police investigation has spanned hundreds of miles, including to an auto parts yard on Pearl Road in Cleveland.
"The FBI guy just showed us a picture of him and I said 'Hey, I know that guy,'" said Rich Lenz, a manager at Pearl Road Auto Parts.
The picture was of suspect William Inman Sr. The FBI thinks Inman was at the Cleveland auto parts yard, 200 miles from Logan, the day after Summer Inman disappeared.

Yes many many backroads places where people go "mudding" hills gravel roads leading to more backroads I have gotten lost and ended up taking hours to find a main road It is like a maze even for locals sometimes There is Old Man's Cave Lake Logan, Hocking River, Hideaway Hills, Muskingham River So many remote little places Like New Straitsville, Shawnee that are surrounded by wooded areas There is also a quarry off 33 between Logan and Lancaster

During the warm weather months, I know for a fact that on weekends, there is a huge amount of motorcycle traffic traveling on the rural backroads in Hocking County and in Southern Ohio.

I do know that Vinton County, Ohio is a very rural county and the least populated county in the state of Ohio.

About the report that the Inmans may have washed their car at a car wash in McConnelsville. I do know that McConnelsville is the county seat of Morgan County and it is also next to the Muskingum River.

The Muskingum River flows into the Ohio River at Marietta.

I'm thinking that the Inmans most likely took the back roads in Southern and Eastern Ohio before they made it up to the Akron-Cleveland area.

Ohio State Route 60 goes from Marietta near the Ohio River, and on up to McConnelsville, Zanesville, and Coshocton before it gets into Holmes County. I do know that there is a very large Amish population that lives in Holmes County.

What took place in the car that required so much cleaning?
I wonder if Summer had never been in the vehicle before, therefore they tried to remove all trace of her? Or was there violence in the car?
