But those don't look like high school kids in the photo posted here. The google search results show it under The 1970's high school dance. And a can of PBR in someone's hand at high school dance? Don't think so. Strange all around.

That's true. Maybe the person using it on that webpage is the one who took it without permission?

Interesting how that photo shows up here. And other places.

Massively upsetting and unfair if this is perceived as some sort of joke. You all work so hard. There are so many other people to "troll". I hope we are wrong... but that seems to not be the case. Only heightens and reinforces the sadness of this Jane's death.... that so many years later someone is willing to waste the time of people actively trying to help. We had hope here. I hope everyone's goodwill wasn't taken advantage of.

I say continue on searching... looking at the pic did not ring true of the time period of 1981, to me. So... Keep Calm and Carry On! :)

IMOO.

Pippa and Pippi are nicknames for Philippa also, which was and is a fairly common name in the UK. Pippa Middleton's name is Philippa.

And very much a middle to upper class name. There are probably very few Philippas on council estates.

yEs I agree with you... Iam totally not feeling 1981 nor 1980 nor 1979 from this photo... Those were the years where the women had the FArah FAwcett hair that was crossing over and getting bigger.. Remember GEneral Hospital LUke and Laura? Rick Springfield ? Blondie THe tide is High?? I lived 1981.... This is definitely not it....Donna Summer Hot Stuff...Air Supply... Asia.???... Does anybody remember this??..haha..
This photo screams to me early to mid 1970s... Iam seeing Early Brady Bunch with Mr and Mrs Brady in this party Photo...
And that does not look like the Pepsi cans we had in my in 1981 or any year... That does not look like a Pepsi can to me at all.. I could be wrong.. I remember them grey and white... Has a look of like a Pabst Blue Ribbon can more... but who is to say.... My guess.. Photo is NOT 1981.... Has to be much earlier.

Oh lawrdy ..... Lol. Oh to be your age now would be pleasant

Wasn't 1981 the year of "who shot JR " (Dallas) You would find out whom the murderer was if you had all the correct letters from the Pepsi bottle caps... Big Hair, Shoulder Pads and Aqua Net Extra Super Hold

That looks like a Pabst Blue Ribbon can to me, if you're talking about the guy standing in front of her.

Pippa is getting quite popular on our local council estate, just Pippa though, not Philippa.

Yea I'm thinking its a Pabst or possibly another type of adult beverage ...hard to tell

Kind of disappointing that someone would lie like this...

Keep in mind this site gets mentioned a bit on reddit & unfortunately there are a lot of weird people who post on reddit.

This is too bad (that someone trolled) but let's keep focusing on looking for BG's identity.

Yes, onward.

Here's some info about the city where our BSG was found near. Mostly manufacturing, lots of welders. This data is relatively new, but the makeup of a city doesnt change that fast unless some tech firm moves in. Might give us some additional things to think about:

Are you able to find out what industry was there in 1981, Rosefromangels?

  • #2,356
I'll dig in and see what I can find kat913. I'm "assuming" it's about the same. Unless you live in a tech hub, things don't change that rapidly. But I'll dig a little deeper and see what I can find

Well that didn't take long. Here's a terrific report that includes the breakdown of employment/industries in 1980. It shows that clearly "manufacturing" leads by a huge gap in 1980 and today. ALOT of welders. I'd like to figure out if that gash on her forehead synched to some welding tool.

Thanks, Rosefromangels! I know Cargill was an industry that was around a long time. There was an industry right there on corner off I-75 that is now Clopay Building Products.,,,wonder what it used to be Just still working the delivering trucker angle.

Given the results of the pollen test and her fit physique, it isnt a far stretch to think of her traveling with a trucker and unloading stuff.

Hobart Corp. would have been the major manufacturer in Troy at that time. It was founded there. The Dayton area has also been internationally known as one of the top tool and die centers in the world. Most manufacturing and tool and die would be in the northern part of the metro area and spilling over to northern areas and Troy.
The Dayton Metro area is within 500 miles of over 60% of the U.S. population. Only a few more cities in the country can claim that. It is at the crossroads of I70 and I75 which move an incredible amount of this country's freight. There are a lot of trucking companies too.

So a lot of possibilities there. I am from Dayton OH and this poor girl just tugs at my heart.
